So, this is my 3rd Mimi’s location. The other two were on the West Coast. But they are all three pretty much the same. This time I had a wonder Omelette with horrible turkey links. My BF got the Steak and Eggs($ 18). Which was pretty good. And we also got my favorite, Chicken and Waffles to go. Everything was good, except for the($ 3) Turkey Sausage. And I guess the Chicken at each location could have a little seasoned salt on it. But once you add some syrup, really? Who cares? The waitress was GREAT. The party started out with 8 and quickly turned into 12. She said she was fairly new to the job, but she didn’t miss a damn beat! She made the experience wonderful for the other 10 people that had not been before. This has become my new spot for a good breakfast.

I was there today with my family. I wanted to take my family to this cool place I can tell you I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life. The waitress yelled at me! I am not kidding. The food was good, but everyone said they would not go back because of the waitress behavior. I think the management should really evaluate there staff. So disappointed

Excellent food & service! We all loved our dishes, and our waiter, Zach, was very attentive and friendly.

I’m sorry, but we had a really bad experience at lunch yesterday. Arrived shortly after noon, waited briefly for a table. No big deal, the restaurant was very busy. The party seated after us received their drinks promptly. Again, no big deal — we weren’t in a hurry. After a long wait our server arrived. She didn’t apologize for our long wait. I said, «wow, you are really busy.» Without hesitation she said«would you like a different server?» I was trying to be understanding and somehow she took it as a complaint. We ordered, but the more I thought about the exchange, the angrier I became. Ruined the rest of my lunch.

No complaints with Mimi’s! While my fiancé and I were living in West Knoxville, we went on a Mimi’s binge one week. We visited three times. Excellent, friendly service each time. The food was delicious.

If you like to wait this is a great place! We waited 30 minutes before anyone came over to wait on us. Once we received our breakfast it was good. Let them know to hold the cheese. Heart atack city. Loads of cheese. Too much. As we left after we paid they did run out two muffins and apologized for our wait.

I really like this place. Very nice menu selection of Americanized French fare. I have eaten at the Knoxville and San Diego locations and both were pretty identical in food/wait service. The carrot raisin bread is to die for. Order some extra to take home. It freezes great!

Typically the food quality is above average. The problem is the service. Between the tables and chairs always being sticky, to the 10 minute greet time, kept getting frustrated. A few years ago this problem didn’t exist. Sad to see the place devolve so quickly.

The muffins are AWESOME! I ordered three blueberry and three buttermilk for the week. I’m really sad they’re all gone. Ate one each day. I got a cinnamon roll and hot chocolate to eat on the road. It was sooooo good but the hot chocolate was really hot. Burned my tongue and was still feeling the effect the following day.

The best service I’ve had at breakfast, lunch or Dinner. If you think of going to any other spot for breakfast you are missing out.

Fabulous food, fabulous service, and reasonable prices. My husband and I went for lunch and we both thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The prices are not cheap but also not exorbitant. The atmosphere is French Bistro/Moulin Rouge and friendly. The menu is French/American with a wide selection. I had the French Dip with Fries(Frites) and my husband had Beer Battered Cod with Frites. First, their fries are heavenly. They are seasoned with butter and parsley and are Ooh La La! The French Dip sandwich was lean, tender and flavorful. It came on a fresh baguette that soaked up just the right amount of au jus. The beer battered cod was flaky and cooked to perfection. The cole slaw was a little bland, but fresh and not terrible. This is definitely a place you will want to visit often.

I’ve been here a few times now and it’s always a bit of a treat. Hidden in a normal seeming mid-suburbanite restaurant lies smoked salmon eggs benedict, and pecan crusted waffles, with crepes of sweet and savory fillings. It’s like the place screams stereotypical Olive Garden, then delivers a food bomb worthy of an award. They were gratefully open on New Year’s Day 2015, and the brunch sent me home with a firm opposition to my hangover. They weren’t crowded either and we were able to snag a table by the bar. I can’t remember what I got to eat that time, but I know there were mimosas and a full bar at around 2PM. They serve breakfast/brunch until 3, so if I am going to miss brunch in Downtown Knoxville, would I head here without haste.

My hot water kettle for my tea had ketchup in it(«Disgusting»), makes me wonder if they even properly washed their tea kettle. The $ 5 sangrias are full of sugar, I can’t even taste the wine. The waitress told us it has orange juice in it. First time I have ever heard of oj in a sangria. The food is mediocre at best, and the service is slow. 30 mins for our entrees. I’m not coming back, Id much rather go to Waffle House.

I wanted to update my review so that readers may better understand my previous review and the response it brought. Maria H. Commented on my review and saying she was corporate employee of the company asked me to email her with details of my bad experience at the Mimi’s at Turkey Creek. In good faith I did so the next day, May 7th. As I write it is the closing hours on May 17th and I have to receive any response from Maria H., or the restaurant. As I see it one of three things has occurred: 1) Maria H. does NOT hold a position with the company as she claimed, or 2) The company could care less about follow-up on problems they asked to be reported to them, or 3) The issues are so extensive that they can’t deal with them AND respond within ten days. No matter which one is the answer it is clear that this establishment has little interest in providing a quality product. It would also appear that perhaps even at the corporate level this chain has a serious problem with customer service. All in all, Mimi’s your bad showing has only gotten worse.

For breakfast I tried the cinnamon brioche roll, then the strawberry/banana nutella crepes. I know, carb-mania. The cinnamon roll was pretty good, as were the crepes. It was all pretty, what is the word… I guess average. It was nothing spectacular, but I did still like it, and the prices aren’t bad either.

The food is great but making a reservation is completely pointless. It’s been almost 45 mins and we’re still sitting outside waiting… If it’s not 15 mins, don’t tell me 15 mins. The service once getting inside was equally as slow. Our server never came to our table. We even spilled and my step daughter had to sit in it until we could get a towel… half way through two of her tables left and so I thought we would have a little more response time. NOPE. It was a two hour ordeal, with one drink… Never going here on a holiday again, the staff doesn’t know how to handle it.

This year, my boyfriend and I were major Valentine’s Day procrastinators. Come Saturday at 6 pm, we had no reservations and were calling restaurants frantically. We called Mimi’s as a last resort, but they were able to seat us in 45 minutes, and for that, we are grateful. We arrived, and a lovely spacious booth was waiting for us. The bread basket was amazing. It featured a cranberry streusel cake that I’ll be dreaming of for quite some time. The actual meal was no where as perfect as the streusel, unfortunately. My boyfriend ordered the bouillabaisse, and I had the grilled salmon. His dish had a nice flavor but was a really strange texture – kind of goopy. My salmon was, in a word, overcooked. The Brussels sprouts beside it were pretty good though. They were cooked with pancetta, and had gotten some nice texture on them. All in all, I won’t knock Mimi’s too much because the service was wonderful, which cannot be said of all establishments on Valentine’s Day. We’ll be back… I’m going to want some more cranberry streusel.

We frequent Mimi’s Café at least once a month for our business and make a point of enjoying the muffin’s. They are a great venue to work with and take wonderful care of our customers during our classes. The waitstaff manages the room well and doesn’t leave anyone wanting for service. We try new things on the menu every time we go any have not had a disappointing meal yet. Pro’s: Great Food(you’ve got to try the muffins) Great Staff Con’s: None

I used to be a 4⁄5 fan of Mimi’s until some menu changes occurred over the past year(between 2013&2014). So they are now 3⁄5 with limited(if none) for vegetarian choices. Here are my favorite choices: Starter: The french onion soup is good but the broth is kind of thin. Meal: Quiche Lorraine — the crust is just right and is always cooked to a good temperature. Dessert: Try the Crème Brulee cheesecake.
