Love love love this place! As a designer, I find great inspiration coming here. I visit this place every time I come home to Wisconsin to visit. The staff is always super welcoming and helpful. The main floor is pure gorgeous product. Furniture from Woodlake, gorgeous painted sinks, faucets, a wall ‘o toilets, tubs, and maybe some engines! Yah! Then the half floor up is tubs… spa tubs, garden tubs, tubs with jets, remote controlled showers, overflow tubs… so many luxurious tubs you will seriously wish you brought your teeny bikini to jump in! I love playing with the shower. Sometimes I leave a little drippy wet! Then the mezzanine level is where it gets amaze balls. It’s all cubbies filled with designer bathrooms and kitchens, each designed by top designers. Themes range from spa to zen to garden to Victorian to kids. I heard they update a cubby or two each year. It’s this floor where I just find a bench and sit and dream. I look around at all the design around me and feel inspired to create a life bigger than I can ever see for myself in day to day habitual living. This is my creative nourishment. Finally the basement has bathroom design history, some other historical odds & ends… and the public bathroom, which isn’t all that spectacular, although I do lol the high powered hand dryer. I really enjoy the old porcelains and the advertising. I think all the family history is a little hokey. If you’re looking for more design inspiration, the Kohler art museum in Sheboygan is super awesome too. Don’t miss it.

After our Kohler Factory Tour, we had to visit and check out the Kohler Design Center. On the main level, it’s a showroom of Kohler kitchen and bath faucets, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, shower base, and shower doors. Some of these are interactive and operational as you can test the water flow from the products. There were also some furniture, lawn mowers, engines, and generators on display. Unbeknownst to me, Kohler manufactured these products as well. Kohler also has designer consultants that can answer your questions that you may have as you go through the center. On the second level of the center, it’s a beautiful gallery of bathrooms and kitchens ranging from modern to traditional to classic to chic. All inspiring ideas for your home. Remember to stop by the lower level to visit the Kohler history museum, which is free of admission. It provides a fascination history of the Kohler Company and how it took care of its workers A great place to check out all the Kohler products on display if you plan on remodeling your kitchen or bath.

a very nice and fun place to go see! Just for fun and especially if you are a home owner. They have the most unqiue show rooms and will defitietly be worth your time. We spent a good hour there and felt like we saw everything w/o a rush!

I have been here several times and I forget how cool this place really is. The first place I love to go is the basement to check out the history of Kohler… it is a free museum and recently my little one really enjoyed it. She kept asking me questions about what we were looking at and I was reading off the signs. She looked up at me and said, «Daddy you know everything!» I did not tell her I was reading because I want to stay as cool as possible in her eyes because during the teenage years I am going to be stupid. It is amazing to see the history of this company and what they built. This company gave many skilled immigrants a place to live and work. They even taught them how to become citizens of the United States. How cool is that? I do not know any companies that do that now or even make an attempt of doing that! You could see that they really cared about there workers and made sure they had the best of everything. It is also amazing to see how Kohler is more then just sinks and plumbing. They had many products like a dishwasher from the 1920’s…that just seems revolutionary to me. I was also impressed how they made bombs and torpedo’s during WWII and they received a nice award from the Department of Defense. We call that patriotic and I am glad to see that Kohler is still going strong. I must also give you a tip… if you check in on 4square you might get a free cup of coffee. I checked in and went to the front desk and was awarded a nice cup of hazelnut. Other shoppers were having a little envy of me with my fancy Kohler Coffee Cup. It also saved me a dollar… which isn’t bad for a cup of coffee. The design center will give you lots of ideas about how you can spend $ 50,000+ on a dream bathroom… yeah it is a dream unless you win the lottery. It is fun to check out everything they have to offer. I like watching the couples here. The body language is so funny. The wife is already to buy it and the husband looks like he is ready to cry or run out the front door. It all looks amazing but it does not mean that we can all afford it. I always forget that there is a tour of the factory… I need to plan a little more time into my next visit because that would be cool to see how everything is made. So if you are looking for some design ideas and you are in the area then I would make a trek out to see what Kohler has set up. You can hit the history museum and even grab a beer with some food at the Kohler Bar down the street from here.

Being a guy I typically cringe when my wife wants to shop for kitchen and bath stuff, but I have to say this is really a great stop. Kohler has some really inventive and interesting ideas on all things kitchen and bath and they have some really amazing things on display.

The last stop on my Kohler review train… Choo! Choo… it’s the Design Center! A fun and interactive facility that has 2 floors of fabulous exploration for everything Kohler. The first floor boasts a wholesale style showroom with everything from kitchen fixtures and faucets to full-size steam showers, tubs galore, a sky high display of tabletop glass mosaic sinks and even the simplest beige Kohler industrial toilets. Kohler design consultants are available on hand for any questions, brainstorming, or to answer your pesky questions on how much things cost. Yes, a home installation RiverBath will really set you back $ 14,000… Ahhhh, wishful thinking! The second floor of the design center, however, is really the most interesting pièce de résistance — and what keeps me coming back year after year! It is a gallery of kitchens, bathrooms, powder rooms and even children’s bathrooms designed by some of the worlds most renowned interior decorators. From floral shabby chic, to an ultra modern bathroom where the tub fills from the ceiling, to a traditional Baker style victorian-esque kitchen, to even a bathroom designed specially with high polished concrete countertops and a punching bag in it(a la Muhammad Ali), there is something for everyone to marvel at! Whether you use the Kohler Design Center as inspiration for your own home or just another way to let the total Kohler experience amuse, impress and wow you, you won’t regret a visit!

The Kohler Design Center is very interesting and fun to visit! I was not able to get the historic factory tour. My husband and I just went on a Saturday afternoon to browse the items and the cool setups of rooms with Kohler company items. The bottom floors contain sinks, faucets, baths, showers, and vanities. There are so many different designs, and most of them are working! Fun to play with! The showers are especially interesting — some of the designs are so innovative! You can go upstairs and see mini-rooms set up to show you how Kohler designs fit into your lifestyle. Classic, modern, zen, you name it… it’s all there. It’s very fun to see all the different interior designs! Go here for ideas, for fun, and to learn more about Kohler!
