ice cream is solid — the mac nut is on point and has plenty of actual mac nuts in there. but seriously, syrup and ice… and then the wait… not worth precious vacation time standing there and waiting for it.

Four stars for long wait(only 1 person working!) But otherwise sublimely light, fluffy shave. Try coconut syrup with homemade coconut cream — amazing!

Much better than Koloa Mill Shaved Ice down the road. The syrup is just sweet enough and the snow cap is to die for. Wish I could take this home with me!

I came back in 2008 before Unilocal and smartphones became the norm and this was the place for shaved ice on Kauai that all the locals recommended. 7 years later the ice is still as good as my memory. New touch of adding a scoop of ice cream at the bottom but what makes them stand apart is the super soft ice. Even though it’s still syrup based we enjoyed it as much as Ululani’s in Maui due to the better texture. Can’t wait to stop by again during our vacation!

Not the best shaved ice I’ve ever had. Very syrupy and the coconut ice cream didn’t have a hint of coconut flavor. The ice tasted freezer burnish. If you want something cold then its okay otherwise move on.

Why doesn’t this place have 5 stars??? Such a bummer. I had the tigers blood flavor with snow cap and vanilla ice cream at the bottom, to die for!!! My boyfriend is not a fan of shaved ice and decided to get a hot coffee instead. He loved it, he’s a big coffee drinker and said that was the best coffee he has ever had in his life… And my opinion… Best shaved ice I have ever had, my boyfriend even tried it and almost finished it haha. No place compares, I tried other shaved ice places around Kauai and they all sucked they all tasted like poop! I regret not returning to this place while I could :( Oh and the girl helping us was super nice and patient. Thank you!

The shaved ice comes with coconut ice cream at the bottom. I ordered the sunset shaved ice and it was really good! I love helping out local business

I ordered the Royal Hawaiian. Kauai coffee ice cream under shaved ice, with coconut juice and chocolate sprinkles. It was pretty amazing! It’s off the beaten path and the GPS told us to park and walk to the place. Instead we drove around and found it in this quaint little town. Definitely a must visit if you’re on south side.

This place was alright, but served it’s purpose as it was close to our hotel!

We tried 5 different Shave Ice places while visiting Kauai last week. Koloa Shave Ice was our favorite one! They serve it large and with lots of syrup. I had the Hawaiian Rainbow and it was awesome! In addition to great shave ice, the prices are reasonable and the setting is nice. Lots of shade and places to sit and enjoy your shave ice. The place is clean and the girl working was friendly!

No No No No. There are better choices for Shave Ice. Do not settle for Koloa Shave Ice, nor crappy Uncle’s Shave ice. Get in the car and go to Lihue or the North Shore for some shave ice. Poipu seems to be lacking a good shave ice place, although, Koloa Mill looks promising. I came here earlier in the week. The flavors are mediocre, the spoons are tiny, and the prices are actually a bit higher than normal. If you want good shave ice on Kauai, go to Ono Ono. It’s cheaper, and delicious.

I had high hopes for this place based on the line that was out the door. But it disappointed me immediately. The teenager working the window was rude, but I can get passed that. The reason I was disappointed was the fact that they don’t use much syrup on the shaved ice. So once you get down to the bottom, it’s mostly just shaved ice with no flavoring. There are much better shaved ice places in Kauai.

Best Shaved ice and they sell great soap that my wife bought up. The owner gave us a deal and the shaved ice options were great.

I think this is the best shaved ice on the island that I had tried and we stopped at a few places. The snow With the macadamia nut ice cream was amazing I would definitely tell everyone to stop here to get there shaved ice

Our favorite shaved ice! The syrup tasted much better than some places did not have that artificial taste and overwhelmingly sweet like some kind places. My go to flavors lychee, mango, passion fruit with macadamia ice cream!!! yumm

This was my second shave ice stop while on the island. I opted to keep it simple and went with the rainbow shave ice. Piled high with just the right amount of syrup. The I’ve was not as fine as the first stop that we made after getting our rental car but it was good enough to go back a second time. The second time we stopped here I went with the Kauai Sunrise. The ice cream that they use is not the best or even close to it. If we stop for a third time there will be no ice cream involved.

This was the first place and last place I ate shave ice on Kauai. It might not look like much on the outside but I like to come here for their special shave ice selections. The piña colada was by far the best one we had. We stayed in Kauai for two weeks and tried multiple shave ice places including Koloa Mill and Uncle’s. Each place has their own unique feature but I went to this one three times and each time it did not disappoint. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try if you have time to spare during vacation!

Love the guava slush and lemonade! Delicious, perfectly shaved ice. Fresh and fruitful syrups. Seating, parking, friendly service. Best so far! Ice cream in the bottom of shaved ice is super yummy :))

Definitely the best shave ice ive had on kauai. They have an insane amount of flavors you can mix and match. I also recommend adding sour spray. They even have a sugarfree flavor(blue vanilla) for those interested. You won’t be disappointed.

We had just finished driving up to Waimea Canyon and it was certainly time to hit a shave ice spot. Unilocaling away I did. And no matter how many places Bobby K. has recomended for me to visit, I seem to choose the opposite. Why? Idk. Because I’m stubborn? No way! Ha Anyway, we were absolutely thirsty and were headed to Poipu Beach. So we decided to stop at Koloa. I Unilocaled and found this little cute place located in the main town of Koloa. It is a very well developed shack, decorated as if we were still in the 60s and 70s. There was one girl… probably late in her teens working the stand. As small of a space there was, i doubt two people would even fit in there. Lots of flavors to choose from and we pretty much knew what we wanted. We got lime. Mango and Watermelon. Both with vanilla ice cream. The shave ice is not as finely shaved as I liked. And the ice still has a bite to it. But the flavors were great. Not too sweet and not too bland. And she was generous in the amount she served over the ice. Definitely worth trying if ever you’re in Koloa.
