Massage Poipu

On my last night in Kauai I was looking for pure relaxation and saw Alannah for a 90-​minute massage. I asked to change my time to an hour and a half later and she accommodated with no question. She is amazing!!! She greeted me in the parking lot with a warm hug and walked me back to her charming condo, which doubles as her studio.
I was running late due to a GPS issue and Alannah wasn’t phased in the least. She has such a calming presence. She offered me water and then stepped into the bathroom to let me get on the table. We had a lovely chat while she provided a completely relaxing massage. She is a retired Olympic sports physician — such an amazing woman and amazing story!
You won’t regret seeing Alannah for a wonderful, relaxing massage. A much better value than the expensive resorts, and a wonderful experience!

We had been hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and swimming for 5 days straight and my body was in need of a good massage. I was really surprised that there are very few options in the Poipu area but I couldn’t be happier that I found Alannah.
I have a previous injury from a car accident and it really flared up during our trip, in addition I am pregnant so there are a lot of changes going on in my body. Her magic hands did wonders and I could instantly tell that the next 90 minutes would be heaven. We chatted during the massage, and I was able to learn more interesting facts about the island than I had on any of the tours prior. I also found out that she had 30 years of experience working with injured Olympic athletes. She was very sweet, calming and patient, really taking her time. I was surprised how strong she was yet gentle in just the right areas. I feel like a new person and really could not recommend Alannah enough. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment, you won’t regret it!

I would highly recommend getting a massage from Allanah! Called at the last minute to get a pre-​race massage and I could not be happier. I’ll definitely book het again!

First off, it’s not clear from anything you read, but the massages are given in the living room of their condo — it’s not an office and it’s not a secluded bedroom.
My wife brought her service dog. We were told the dog wasn’t allowed in the condo. After some wrangling and talking about ADA requirements, she relented and let us come in. That initial experience ruined the whole mood of the massage.
The living room is not that isolated — we could hear the bathroom upstairs, an electric saw running outside, airplanes flying overhead. All these noises contributed to a non-​peaceful environment.

We had been feeling sore after our Zodiak and Kayak tour and was looking for a good, but reasonable massage. We tend to be very picky as we get massages a lot and like a lot of deep pressure. We found Alannah on Unilocal and decided to try it with low expectations. Vacation massages tend to never be as good as home.
We went to her place vs her coming to us and did a 90 min couples massage. We were pleasantly surprised and happy with the massages.
The only thing I would suggest that if you hv a sore spot be sure to tell her and have them focus there without worrying about covering your whole body. I wish I would hv stressed it was ok to skip some things so they could give more attention to my sore spots.
Overall I’m impressed and would recommend her. I would def come back to her next time I’m here. Be sure to call ahead as she books up quickly!

I had two 90 minute massages during our stay on the island from Alannah. My wife had one. All were excellent. On the mainland the prices are better, but in a resort area, Alannah provides quality massage at reasonable rates. Will definitely schedule her on our next visit to Kauai.

Alannah is just the type of massage therapist you hope to discover when you’re away from home. She is a great communicator in setting up an appointment, greeted me at her clean and comfortable studio, and (most importantly) shared her wonderful energy with me during a perfect massage. She is a true gem of a person and thoughtful and experienced as a masseuse.
If you are reading this you probably aren’t the type to go to the Grand Hyatt for a spa massage, so rest assured that Alannah’s pricing is fair and reasonable.
I found her on Unilocal originally, so I should point out that the 1 negative review posted here is absurd… the person who wrote that should get… a massage.

Worst customer service ever! Allanah was extremely rude to me, a potential customer over the phone in all of a 5min conversation! I shudder to think what a massage from her must be like. For someone who’s business thrives on customer service she clearly needs to be reminded of this fact! Avoid at all costs-​what surely needs to be stress free experience will just leave you more frazzled even before the massage has begun. I would rather try a real spa and rest assured of how I will be treated as a customer.

My husband and I received a couples massage with Alannah and Rose. We both agreed that this was one of THE BEST massages we’ve ever received. They were both super friendly and welcoming and we left feeling like we were walking on clouds. It was purely magic! I will definitely be booking another massage next time i’m in Kawai. I encourage you to do the same… you won’t be disappointed! :)

Alannah is AMAZING! My husband booked massages for both of us while we were in Kauai for a babymoom – I was getting prenatal, he was getting deep tissue – and it was incredible. Alannah has magic hands:) I like a very deep massage, but many practitioners don’t (or can’t) get that deep, and I had a slight concern that, because this was a prenatal massage, it might be too light. But it totally wasn’t. Alannah has a very unique ability to massage very deeply but still feel gentle, and she uses ultra soothing strokes.
I love that she only offers 90-​minute sessions because it really gives you time to relax. (And her rate of $ 125 is still much better than at the resorts where the rate can be twice as much.) Also, if you happen to be booking her for prenatal, it’s good to know that she and several of her practitioners have been midwives and doulas, so she had other tidbits of good info for me.
My husband also loved his deep tissue massage with Rose – it was also deep yet soothing.
I wish we lived closer to her! I would come all the time.

My husband and I had a couples massages by Alannah and Toni while on vacation in Kauai. We also had a massage at our hotel as well. This was way better. Less expensive and longer as well. My husband said his was the best massage he has ever had! I truly enjoyed mine as well. We will definitely visit again on our next stay on the island. There were no Unilocal reviews at the time we booked it, but their website has many testimonials listed, all o which are true. A wonderful alternative I the overpriced big hotels. I highly recommend it!
