This place has such good good! Great prices, slow but great service! The meatballs are delicious! Served in a little cast iron skillet. They have ½ price apps at HH and a daily special under $ 10, usually $ 4.99! On Tuesdays it’s ladies night– $ 2.95 anything with Absolute Vodka– So they have a list: blueberry mandarin martini is one! But they have comprised a list so that you can get creative with all the flavored vodkas. $ 2.95! Yummy!!! Give them a try Dominique is awesome!

Frozen tasting food. Been here twice and same taste. Cool looking interior. Staff was nice. Wish it had better food.

Love this place. It used to be a restaurant so they still have all the equipment and they have some of the best bar food I’ve ever had — in fact, we sometimes order it to go for an app dinner. Also, great top shelf margaritas. I’ve had one sub-par cocktail(I don’t think that bar tender works there anymore) and one time I was there I thought the music was way too loud, but neither gives me any pause to give them five stars. Great place to go in Kyle. They’ve got a back patio with seating, etc for those who smoke, as well as TVs at the bar for sports.

Service has gotten much better and I like all their appetizers, especially the Parmesan fries.

Kyle Texas. Not a hotspot of nightlife by any standard. Mostly this city consists of families and retirees, quite the quintessential suburb. Bars, taverns and sports bars are limited to about 3 — 5 options… Limited is a generous term. So when it comes to actually stepping into one, standards aren’t high beyond the typical customer service, getting orders right etc. Sitting down and ordering was weird as hell. The waitress flips out because a cricket found its way under my girlfriends collar but anyway… The food was okay, pre frozen fare designed to satiate the drinkers palate. Their service? Three words: Are. You. Serious? Wednesday nights are advertised as ladies night(accidental discovery, brought my girlfriend out for a midweek drink). Absolut cocktails are«supposed» to be $ 3.95. Okay, cool I can get with that. What I can’t get with is after the check comes and the absolut Bloody Mary-tini ends up being $ 6.50… What I can’t get with either, the bartender arguing semantics on what fits and doesn’t fit into the«absolut special» because their recipe has some premixed spice that costs extra. NOWHERE on any menus does it state ANY exclusions to is special. My girlfriend even ordered a lemon drop which was not on the advertised absolut cock list(but we were assured by the waitress that anything absolut is included) and it was put on the bill at the special price. I mean honestly I don’t care about paying $ 6.50 for a drink, but he bait and switch and last minute exclusions THATARENTADVERTISEDANYWHERE is enough to make me drive to San Marcos, Austin or even Buda for that matter. I’m tired of running into these hipster types with no manners or a grasp on customer service. I understand that not all businesses«need» your patronage, but I cannot stand being treated as such. There was also no manager around to relay is to. Apparently the bartender was the most senior employee available. I expect better for a Wednesday night with less than 30 people present. First. Last. Only time to visit this overpriced, understaffed hole in the wall. I would rather wait in line for a table at Centerfield 50 feet away.

This place is amazing. The food always comes out hot, fresh, and delicious. The bartenders are amazing and always offer outstanding service. They have an awesome back patio with pool tables, outdoor seating, and darts. Overall a great place to spend a night out!

Don’t waste your time. We sat at a table and waited for approximately 15 mins. We were seen for sure. Another couple came in and were waited on within 2 mins. We left and went to Centerfield Sports Bar & Grill.

I have given this place about 6 chances because it is close to home. Every time I have gone, the service has been sub par. Two times I have gotten nauseous for about 4 hours afterward. I thought it was a fluke, so we gave it one more chance. Bad idea… my boyfriend had a full blown case of food poisoning. Ordered a burger and was«deathly ill» for the next two days. Never going back.

Meh. The food is not very tasty, kind of over done and over seasoned and sauced. The place is larger than it looks and has nice outdoor seating, but the food is kind of pricy for the quality.

Well I liked this place. That’s right, I said liked. While enjoying happy hour we were greeted by baby roaches. Several of them. The bartender apologized & said that silverware was left out overnight & thats where they came from. WTH!!! I’m not the most brilliant guy in the world but that statement alone tells me that this is an obvious problem at an establishment that serves FOOD in addition to cocktails. Imagine what other surprises lurk in that kitchen. I hate to do a 1-star. Those who know me & my reviews can attest that I don’t just write 1-star reviews because I am trying to «get back» at anyone for whatever. Check my other reviews & they’re pretty damn legit. As much as I’ve appreciated Dark Horse & the fact that there’s bars in Kyle, but this roach incident does it for me.

Fun place. I enjoy sitting out back on the patio. If you are looking for a place to get hammered on the cheap this is not the place for you. If you want a place to sit and enjoy friends this is great.

Really good food. however the service just ok… was there with someone for about four hours. the bar tender was taking care of us at a table… when it got busy had to go up to the bar to order any more drinks… when I did the bar tender didn’t even know I was her table and asked if I wanted a tab… she was given a dollar for a tip… food great, service ok… need more staff

Bad drinks. Terrible service. Too pricey for a bar. Loud music. I’ve been here twice. Both times we had bad service and bad drinks. The appetizers were good last time but they took long. This time we didn’t even get our fries! We won’t be coming back here.

I went with a group of about 12 people, the only waiter helping us was never around and always had to be flagged down to get folks’ orders, drinks, etc. When an additional table was needed because our group got larger, they were grumpy but obliged. I ordered the crispy chicken salad, something I’ve never been disappointed by anywhere else. It came with 2 very small chicken strips and a few thin sandwich slices of tomato, and onions… for $ 10!!! Their shoestring fries are well seasoned and very tasty but that’s about the only good thing.

Was busy on a Sunday evening. Had the Skillet Meatballs, Barbacoa Stuffed Mushrooms, and Fried Catfish. The fish was excellent, moist and juicy inside and crisp outside. The truffle fries were very tasty(I love skinny fries). The mushrooms were also excellent, with flavorful shredded meat and a great sauce. The meatballs were OK, nothing special. The meat and sauce was a bit bland. Not bad, just not at the level of the other two. Will definitely return. This place is a good addition to Kyle.

It’s awesome! I love the food and drinks are yummy. I’ve had lots of different things: Skillet Meatballs — perfection tres quesos blancos — amazing and full of many flavors brown sugar baby back ribs — I’ve had better cilantro mango crab cakes — THEBOMB awesome Parmesan truffle fries — slap someone if they take one of these. sooo good! As far as drinks go I LOVE their bloody mary tini, great selection of beers, and I had the thin mint(it was okay). I know this is only because I’m old that I’m saying this, but I think the music is a little loud and so has all my friends. People going into this place aren’t really wanting the club feel, we want a good atmosphere to visit with our friends with BACKGROUND noise. Oh well… like I said, it’s just a sign I’m getting old. Something a bit interesting that I saw was the bartender taking a few shots and then finishing off bottles… don’t really know as that’s best practices LOL, but it kept the crowd entertained. Go check them out, it’s fun and DELISH!

I was very excited to try this place. I was very disappointed. The décor is great and you would think that the service and food would be great as well. WRONG. My boyfriend and I came in and we were seated at a bar top table. It took over 10 minutes for a server to come and greet us. He wasn’t aware anyone needed him, as he was sitting up at the bar hanging out with his friends. He couldn’t care less about any patrons inside. It was as if we interrupted him, and he was clearly annoyed to wait on us. Can we say UNPROFESSIONAL. RUDE. My boyfriend ordered a margarita. NOPE. Somehow with all the liquor behind the bar, I guess they lacked the liquor to put in a margarita… or the bartender was just lazy. We ordered food, but were told only appetizers would be served after 10. It was 10:03. So we ordered chips and queso and bottled beers. We apparently have to make this as easy as we can on this guy. So by now this place is 0 for 2. Then this poor girl who was not used to carrying trays knocked over everything on her tray right next to me. I felt bad for her as no other server came to help her out. I almost ended up helping her out. 0 for 3. So the queso comes out and they did not leave it in the microwave long enough… clearly not fresh by any means. 0 for 4. We ate it anyway. Then drank our one beer and got the heck out of there. Such a shame that a place with sooooo much potential could be so horrible. Perhaps, it’s because it’s new and needs it’s adjustment period. I’d steer clear til they work the kinks out. Hopefully, management will step up and make this place worth something.

Very loud. I miss Bordeaux’s. Overpriced bland food. I ordered the ribs and they tasted like they were cooked by someone who knew nothing about cooking ribs. I don’t understand it. If you’re going to put ribs on the menu in Texas, make them at least decent. These tasted like they were thrown in the oven with zero seasoning. The fried fish is mushy – overcooked blandness. Everything is so bland! Everything is overcooked! And the drinks… two sips from a very small glass is not worth $ 6. I’d give it zero stars but it was at least clean. Too many other options in Kyle. I won’t go here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Such a shame because it was a favorite of ours when it was Bordeaux’s.

Kyle is moving on up! Drinks and food were delicious. They have a covered patio with ample seating. Service wasn’t astounding but it also wasn’t disappointing. Loved all the small plates. The cake pops for dessert were fabulous as were the cocktails.

My Husband and I had been looking for a place to call our bar for awhile now. Living in Kyle there is not a lot of selection. When our favorite steakhouse moved to another location we were sad as we could no longer walk to it. However when the owners announced they were opening up this Bar/tapas location in its place we were so excited. We finally got to check it out last night and were very happy with the results. The atmoshpere is perfect, dark and not to rowdy, with a gorgeous bar and liquor display. There were big screens to watch the game but they were not intrusive. I am a bartender myself on the weekend so I am pretty picky about my drinks. Not only did Dark Horse have a wonderful selection of craft cocktails(the Bunton Gold Rush was DELICOUS if you like whiskey!) they had a perfect choice of craft beer on tap(being from CA we are always excited to see deschutes represented as it is somtimes harder to find the further east you go). We fished off the night with the recomendation of the Smores drink by our bartender, it has a grahm cracker rim and was heaven in a glass! This was an after dinner visit so we haddn’t planned on eating but after perusing the menu we just had to make room for the truffle fries. They were reason enought to go back. I am so happy that truffle oil is on the rise, you MUST try these! The absoule cherry on this wonderful place was the bartender, he was wonderful! Friendly without being in your face, perfect recomendations and timing. It is employees like him that create regulars. We cannot wait to return to this adorable little place nestled on main street and are thrilled to have such great food and drinks back within walking distance.
