I run a couture clothing company and was in a bind when some gowns came back from a photo shoot damaged, and were needed for another photo shoot a couple of days later. I wasn’t able to get them back to our designer before the next photo shoot so I found DM Sewing Co on Unilocal and rushed over to see if they could help. Couture clothing is expensive and complicated so finding a good seamstress/tailor is important for even the most minor of repairs. When I walked in, I was greeted by the owner who took the time to listen to my dilemma and carefully looked over each piece. He explained the issue and told me what they could do to fix it. I then dropped the bomb that due to the other photo shoot, I would need the garments back on Friday morning. It was a Wednesday evening that I went in to drop off the garment to them so that’s a fairly tight deadline and I knew I was asking a lot from them to meet it. Expecting to get turned away, he told me he could try to have as many done for me as possible by the end of the day on Friday. This was 100% fair and I just asked that if he was in fact able to get even just one finished by Friday morning to please call me and let me know. Thursday early afternoon rolled around and I got a call from the owner who let me know ALL, not just one, but ALL of the garments I brought in were finished. I thanked him and let him know I would be in sometime after 5pm that evening to pick them up. Just to elaborate, I brought in two gowns and two onesies; four couture pieces total… these are delicate and intricate and expensive, normally yielding a 3 – 7 day turn around per piece anywhere else for a minor repair. DM Sewing Co had not only finished all of them over 24 hours before they said they MAY just be able to finish one, but the owner also noticed small tears in a solid mesh portion on one of the gowns that he wanted to bring to my attention. I was aware of the tears, but I had previously been told they were beyond repair and was under the impression we would have to replace the mesh panel portion on the gown. Eventually, we will have to do that, but DM Sewing Co mended the tears by hand and had that finished for me by the time I got there that evening. On each gown, they replaced both zippers and perfected the hook & eye closures, as well as mending the tears in the mesh by hand on one of the gowns. On one of the onesies there were some tears in the mesh and it ended up needing to have an entire waistband reinforced to prevent it from happening again; they also repaired a small area where the seam was unraveling at the bottom of the zipper. The other onesie was strapless and since not every model has the same exact figure, we needed to be able to have the option of using detachable clear bra straps if needed, so they added undetectable fabric loops for the bra straps. I offered to pay a rush fee to have everything done in time, but again… DM Sewing Co had everything done for me over 24 hours ahead of time and didn’t charge me a rush fee! The prices were extremely fair for the work and my company will be using DM Sewing Co for all of it’s repairs now! The work is superb, staff is friendly and reliable, the prices are very fair, and the long business hours make it extremely convenient to drop off and pick up! They even manufacture in small batches and make custom clothing! The company would def benefit from a website with it’s business hours, company info, services, and photos of it’s work. My ONLY complaint, and this is in no way DM Sewing Co’s fault, would be the driving school that’s located right next to it, in combination with the tiny parking lot. If you are coming to pick up/drop off later in the evening, I would suggest having someone drive you, or parking at the bank next door to the shopping center b/c the parking lot will be filled up with parents waiting to pick up their kids, and teenagers standing/running around all over the parking lot. Like I said, not the company’s fault and it def won’t keep me from continuing to use DM Sewing Co for company repairs and my own alterations!

I walked in with a pretty complicated dress that I purchased off the internet. The dress has stripes in the top portion that were cut and sown in a way that was not straight across, it was visually disturbing and it made my breast look lopsided! I was treated very well and they took my issue as it were their own. It was clear that they were invested and not going to give me my dress back until it was satisfactory to me. GREAT place, I will definitely go back for all my alterations.

This company is perfection. The customer service is incredible, like the«good ol’ days when folks knew how to take care of their customers. He is professional, a perfectionist about his work, personable and very caring. He called several times to discuss details with me when he wasn’t sure what I meant. I am overwhelmingly happy with his work and his care. I definitely recommend this company for any sewing or alterations. He made two lined curtain panels and covered 4 pillow and the pieces were done to perfection. I am so impressed I left 3 more projects for him. He is also very quick.
