I did the saltine challenge once. I finished the saltines faster than a bite of brisket from MWS. Sorry guys but the briskest sandwich was just way too dry. Maybe I just got a bad batch?

I don’t know which is better – Rick’s hardworking kind character or his BBQ. this food truck on S Manchaca was the perfect answer for us when looking for a wedding caterer that would work within our budget. Rick is kind, very attentive to all detail, and makes some fantastic BBQ. Rick made sure to purchase the kind of flatware that would work with my wedding aesthetic, and went above and beyond to go back and exchange something when I changed my mind! He was very professional and on top of all details of the catering process, and I relaxed knowing my wedding catering was in great hands. Everyone loved it! Thanks Rick!

Ok, let me get what I would consider the only piece of «bad» news out of the way — based on my first trip, I would not call this Texas barbeque in the strictest sense. It’s more of a blend of Texas and Carolina styles, and the day that we went, the pork definitely outshined the beef. That being said, this stuff is freakin’ delicious. We ordered the sampler plate — everything was good. The pork ribs, in particular, were downright flabbergasting. Everything was moist and juicy, I ate most of my pulled pork without any sauce(!), the portions were generous, and even the brisket, the straggler of the bunch(and I mean that very gently) had a good crust, a solid smoke ring, and maintained the juiciness of the rest of the dish. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic and professional, the atmosphere was great. Based on my experience that day, I wouldn’t recommend it to tourists who’ve got one shot at «Brisket Down Texas BBQ,» but its still very high on my list and will probably be my go-to for pork in the future.

Just stopped by for lunch and I am so glad I did! Rick told me about his pulled pork lunch special so I went for it! The bread it comes on was perfect and not overwhelmingly BIG. I tend to not like when there is TOO much bread to bite through but it was great. Like a perfect sized pocket with delicious pulled pork, bbq sauce and onions so beautifully stuffed inside. I also got a side of sausage because that is by far my favorite piece of meat when it comes to bbq. NONE of it disappointed me and I loved that he was so friendly and told me about some of the other food trailers around him that weren’t open at the moment. He truly made me want to come back and try EVERY single one. Which I will… but I am definitely glad I chose him first! Thank you for the delicious lunch and wonderful customer service! Will definitely be bringing my husband by next time!

Thought I would share what type of individual is running this place. Clearly he believes I have nothing better to do but complain about being out of BBQ at 12 noon. Here is an email from the owner. Classy, bordering on threatening. This has been reported to Unilocal and the property for which your food truck sits on sir. You are funny. If you have anything against my establishment, come speak to me professionally. Not through Unilocal.I have never ever sold out before 12 pm. Not even Franklins does that. I find these complaints to be fictitious and causing malice. Please come and speak to me like a professional and stop hiding behind these words.

Found these guys last night. I was blown away! AMAZING brisket nachos, choink and ribs. In addition, the park is enclosed with a fence and BYOB! Go check them out… you won’t be sorry!

What can I say other than oh my god! I checked these guys out because of a Groupon I bought. I got some brisket, a sausage link, the potato salad, the beans and M&Ms. The food was great and the service was friendly and fast. The brisket was amazing… and then I added their sauce. Normally I’m not a sauce guy, let the meat stand on its own but this sauce took the brisket over the top. The sausage was moist and flavorful, good but that’s it. The beans were ranch style beans, pinto with jalapenos and their sauce mixed in. Best beans from a restaurant I’ve ever had, hands down. The potato salad was run of the mill potato salad. I bought the M&Ms for my wife but they’re only 50 cents a bag, cheaper than HEB. The owner was the only their working. He was super nice, we had a nice conversation, he’s friendly and we talked a little about his food and business. Also, the total was $ 16.52 and the Groupon only covered $ 16 so he threw in the 52 cents for free. Haha.

As good as any of the brisket I’ve had in Austin! These guys really know what they’re doing. I’m coming back for the full Saturday menu for sure.

When we visited the Most Wanted Smokers(MWS) barbecue truck, they recommended the Choink, and now we strongly recommend it ourselves! What you get is a chicken breast stuffed with a cream cheese stuffed jalapeño, all of which is then wrapped in maple smoked bacon! And yes, it tastes as delicious as it sounds. Each bite gets you a mouthful of moist and lightly seasoned chicken breast and a perfect spicy sweetness from the jalapeño and the maple smoked bacon! I’ve come to the realization that not everyone is as into the mega-fusion cuisine that’s so popular in Austin these days, and that’s totally cool! That’s why I get so excited when I come across something like the Choink! It brings two/three classics together in a way that still preserves their original appeals. The Choink is like a fabulous plateful of food in a delightful, bacon package! Perfection!

This trailer is very close to my house but it took my husband and I a while to finally try the food but I am so glad we did! The brisket is really good and the ribs are fantastic, so moist and great flavor. The sausage is so popular that they had run out when we stopped by. We will definitely be back!

The brisket is fantastic. It’s evident why they won awards. But if you really want a treat, check out the Choink. Mmmmm.
