It’s hard to say what a normal experience would be since our waitress was on her first day of work, and from what I observed, this was most likely her first job as a waitress. So, as a result, she kept having to come and go many times to get things she forgot. This is not her fault though. The business should have supported her(and their customers) by have her shadow someone or have someone shadow her. Even though I am understanding, I wouldn’t go back based on that experience since it ended up making it take a really long time. Also, they played really odd«dark» type of Opera music which just gave the place a weird mood. The food was really good though so who knows how the overall experience would be for another person. I just wouldn’t go back personally,

Great food, excellent service!!! We went in by accident just for a drink or two and some appetizers waiting for our dinner reservation at a different restaurant. We decided to stay here instead and it was a smart choice, not only the food was delicious the prices are much cheaper.

I will come back for salads and an apple cake or pie. It was very good. We enjoyed talking with(the owner) Cameron. Thank you!

Tried the Tree House for dinner tonight and we were very impressed. Our meals which included(scallops and linguine and a seafood stew) were absolutely delicious. Our service was great and we received our meal in a very timely manor. The restaurant is decorated nicely and we had a great view. We were too full to order desert, but their homemade pies looked scrumptious. Perhaps I’ll have stop in one afternoon for tea. Our waitress brought us homemade fudge after dinner– OMG, How wonderful was that? We live in the area and will definitely return. It was a Saturday night and they were not busy. My guess is, many people just don’t realize what a great place it is. We felt the meals were priced fairly and the presentation was much better than we had expected.

I am forced to give this restaurant a star it doesn’t deserve. I used to bring large parties here when it was Kerstin’s. I was sad to see them go. I decided to try it last summer. The first time I was with a friend from out of town. The service was terribly slow and he had to drive all the way down to Sea-Tac to catch a plane. He ordered the Cioppino and had to gulp it down when it finally arrived after we had sat there for 45 minutes waiting to be served, even though we told the waitress we were in a hurry. A few days later I found myself in La Conner again with a friend and we decided to try it once more. I like to have my salad aprés and my friend likes his before the meal. He also has a condition where he needs to eat as soon as he feels hungry. I asked that my main course be brought out as soon as it was ready and to not have to wait until he finished his salad. That way while I was eating my salad after the main course he would be eating his main course. The owner was extremely rude to me and said he knows how to time meals so they come out at the right time. We should have just got up and left. I mentioned that days earlier it had taken 45 minutes for the same dish to come out. While my other friend got to sit and watch me eat. Again he was rude to me. So I sat and watched my pal eat his salad… the main courses came out almost together and then he got to sit and watch me eat my salad. Somehow he decided we should give it another try… I called to make a reservation for 2 at 8pm and was told they close at 7. Even though we had a late lunch, we arrived at 6:30. Waitress asked me what I wanted to drink. I said it would depend upon what I ordered for dinner. She couldn’t comprehend this. She knew nothing about wines. I ordered a Malbec and the duck. She brought the wine and an Arnold Palmer for my friend. Several minutes later she came out and told me they were out of duck. I said I wished she had told me before I ordered the wine. and suggested the cook let her know as soon as they run out of something. She argued with me. I ordered the bouillabaisse. Earlier I told her I didn’t want the mashed potatoes with the duck. I clearly stated I don’t eat potatoes or root vegetables. She kept trying to push the beet salad. She offered asparagus as a replacement. The bouillabaisse arrived and it was 2⁄3 potatoes and an overwhelming amount of carrots and very little fish. The clams were separated from the shells leaving me to believe they were not born in those same shells. The bouillabaisse was not tasty and didn’t go with the red wine I had ordered to go with the non existent duck. I wish she had told me the Bouillabaisse is composed of mostly veggies. I never saw the asparagus. My friend asked for a refill on his Arnold Palmer after she had passed us several times, but had not brought the refill, I asked again for the drink. She snapped, «I only have two hands». When it arrived it was more Arnold than Palmer. More lemonade than iced tea. That did it for me. We will NEVER again return to that horrid hash slinger masquerading as fine cuisine. At 7:52 she seated a newly arrived couple even though we were told they close at 7pm.

Service slow. Live music was so loud we had to yell to have conversation. With such a nice setting outside on their deck the music should have been more mellow. Food was ok but over priced. Will not go back.

This is a review where I really wish Unilocal would allow the use of half stars because I rate this restaurant 3.5. This was my third attempt to eat here. On two previous occasions I found the restaurant in the process of closing up hours sooner than its posted times. This left me wondering how serious they were about building their clientele. Food and service were good, if not stunning. At its price point, though, expectations are fairly high. The baked oyster appetizer was presented nicely but most of the oysters were more warmed than fully baked which led to them being a bit«hot on the half shell». Duck entrée more solid and dessert was well prepared and presented. In the end, this is a restaurant that will either hit its groove this summer and become a new fixture in Laconner, or will be closed by February. Time will tell…

My husband and I came here for our fifth wedding anniversary. The staff is super nice. The ambiance is romantic and relaxing with a view of the water. The food was just outstanding. He had baked oysters as a starter and the special, baked scallops. He really enjoyed both. I had the crab au gratin to start which was delicious and then the linguine with prawns and man it was good. Didn’t really have room for dessert but with how good everything was we just couldn’t resist getting the cheesecake witch was super! Great prices for how good the food is. This is must if you’re in LaConner!

What an interesting experience we had… first of all our waitress pressured us into ordering a 30 dollar steak. Then after realizing they were out of steak she told us to «hurry up and choose what we wanted.» Then she continued on telling us about her ex and her random roommate who owed her money. Then she handed us the check and charged us one steak and couldn’t void it because«her friend wasn’t here.» Then she kept telling my mom and I how pretty we were and told us «let God be with you.» Not to mention her eyes were glossy and she kept telling us the same story over and over. She seemed intoxicated and/ow high. Such a great location, but poor staff…

After going to this restaurant for so many years when it was called Kiersten’s, we really wanted to try this under the new ownership. The menu looked delicious so we gave it a try last night. We were not disappointed. I had the surf and turf special(8oz filet over asparagus and garlic mashed with fresh crab over top and a couple Cajun prawns on the side) and my wife had the seared sea scallops with linguine. Both were excellent! There were however a couple tables that sent theirs back because it wasn’t warm enough. Ours however was great. Service was good, but a little slow. So don’t go here if you are in a rush. We were not in a rush so it worked out just fine for us. Prices were reasonable, except for the $ 8 brownie and lemon square we took to-go — both delicious, just not necessarily worth $ 8! In the end, it was a good experience, and we will come back here again.

This was one of those experiences where everything added up to just being overall horrible. To start, our waitress was… let’s just say I don’ think this is the right calling for her. She wasn’t necessarily bad, but very awkward and disinterested. When we asked what the specials were she told us they were on the board downstairs. I told her that I had forgotten what they were and she told us she was«pretty sure» they were«like gumbolaya(?) with chicken or something, and some fish». We both ordered cocktails and my old fashioned tasted like orange juice that a drop of bourbon happened to fall into and my wife’s cucumber cocktail which they lauded as their signature drink was watery and bland. We finally ordered and the food was just OK. For the price I was expecting a lot more flavor, technique, or ingredients. Again, the whole time our waitress was extremely inattentive. At the end of the meal we asked for a dessert menu and she said they didn’t have one. So we asked what our options were and she said«It’s probably better if you go down to the dessert case downstairs and look because I don’t really know». Overall just a horrible experience and the check for $ 100 just put the cap on it. If you are like us you drop $ 100 on a meal for 2 every now and then for a nice occasion. It’s a shame we had to waste one of those occasions here.

This chef knows flavors! Seafood bisque was wonderful and not heavy. Crab salad with avocado and mango is refreshing and big enough for lunch. Shrimp risotto with the grilled asparagus was great.

I’ve looked at this placed and wished I went once, actually gone once, and I’ll be back one more time to make sure! Basically… it’s good… but not what I expected, nor quite as satisfying as I hoped! Pros? –Friendly service –Good wine choices –Strong drinks –Nice presentation –Nice atmosphere Cons? –Very overpriced –Advertisements outside are different than the actual place –Filet was cooked well, but the meat itself was not the highest quality

What a disappointment. My husband and I went looking for something special on Easter and found what we thought was a little gem. The woman at the door was charming and was wonderful at prompting the place. Unfortunately… Our waitress acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. I ordered the Surf & Turf, was told that it was a Tenderloin with crab & shrimp. My first bite was a huge piece of fat, I cut it out and looked closer at the meat and it was far from a tenderloin, but rather a very fatty sirloin.. My next two bites where pure raw meat(was purple on the inside) and very fatty. My husband order the halibut with Risotto, it was so dry and cold by the time it finally got to the table that I felt bad for him. I kindly ask the waitress to take a look at the steak and see if it could be cooked a little longer, she was terribly rude and my food never came back. Finally after 15 minutes, with my husband long finished with his meal, she returned with my plate with the same ice cold potatoes and glue like sauce. This was such a disappointment and the final straw was not that a single dinner and bottle of wine was $ 110.00 but the next day while checking my account I saw they charged our card twice. Once for the $ 110.00(the bill with tip my husband left) and then again for $ 97.00(the actual price of his single dinner. Sometimes just because the menu looks great and the décor is lovely doesn’t mean the person in the kitchen and the people serving the food care about what food they serve. I have called the restaurant 6 times and it is always busy. So much potential with the location and décor but I would never come here again and want my $ 97.00 dollars back!!!

Absolutely delicious. Started off with the Baked Oysters and those were amazing! Then I had the Duck and it was perfectly cooked to where it was moist and came with potatoes and veggies. Ended with a crème brûlée that was the best I’ve had. It was light but flavorful and the perfect amount to share although I ate it all. Definitely will recommend this place to others.

My wife and I have eaten here a number of times the food is always Great and the service is wonderful. Cameron is the best host in the county and Chef David puts out truly amazing meals. I would highly recommend dinning here, you won’t be disappointed!

I am simply embarrassed for this establishment. Service was slow &/or nonexistent. I even watched a server criticize and act rudely toward another table of customers(they had food allergies and the restaurant hadn’t prepared their food correctly). The seafood tomato bisque was as thick as water, had an odd tangy and fishy taste, and only one tiny piece of crab in it. There were also a few surprise almonds in there, which provided more proof that they don’t pay much attention to properly preparing food. The portobello linguine had a white wine cream sauce with surprisingly no flavor whatsoever. The dish was extremely bland and lacking in all flavor. To make matters worse the water they served had hair, dust, and other floaties in it. Overall, it was a dismal experience on all accounts and I will not be returning.

I have eaten here many times while it was Marion’s Bistro and now as The TreeHouse Bistro(same owner, new management and chef) Just love it! Delicious food, decadent homemade desserts(cheesecake is to die. mmm!), perfect martinis and huge wine list. You seriously can’t go wrong with this staple of LaConner and the views from the terrace and upstairs dinning room are stunning. It’s a must try…

We are here for a special event-wedding rehearsal dinner. The food has been wonderful, simple but very good. The service has been great as well. The place is charming in its atmosphere. I hope you enjoy your visit.
