I stopped in here after a frustrating hunt for a dresser and found just exactly what I was looking for. The man who helped me was friendly and helpful without hovering which I appreciate. He even delivered the piece I bought on the same day for a reasonable fee. While poking around I noticed some other interesting items like an arts and crafts style wrought iron outdoor hanging lamp and a wood and black leather bench that was very cool!

La crescenta is a charming little town. Now, If I were the spoiled unappreciative brat that Belle was, from Disney’s «Beauty and the Beast» I’d be singing about how poor(paltry) and provincial(simple) it is. In fact, I was. I sang that song all my life and only in the recent years did I really begin to appreciate the beauty of my neighborhood with its sensible family atmosphere and buildings un-touched since the fifties.(not literally untouched, but you know– NOT rebuilt.) The Antique Store has no reviews. Why? Possibly because it’s something we local folk pass by everyday and don’t take time to notice– or perhaps it’s because no one feels this place deserves neither a negative, nor a supremely positive review. But I am here to tell you how it is. You will not find a pretty building or any fancily hung antique chandeliers here. What you will find is a plainer bungalow than what any of Mike Brady’s designs on «The Brady bunch,» and inside, wood furniture stacked so densely, that a fat person, would have trouble walking through without knocking something over and causing a crazy zigzagging domino effect. The space does no justice for the goods sold at this establishment– It’s shallow and wide, but I think there may be back room where things are carefully restored, because unlike many small-town antique stores, the fixtures sold here are not in disrepair, they look almost pristine.(with no disrespect to the original designs– I know, I spent two entire semesters memorizing chairs in college.) This store most definitely has a specialty– it’s the place to come for dressers, vanities, desks, and hutches– table surfaces and display cupboards of all sorts– I’ve seen things that range from regency revival to colonial, from modern oriental, to mid-century modern. The prices on the furniture aren’t cheap, but like I mentioned, everything is in decent, usable shape. What is offered here, however, are some vintage home accessories and décor which are very decently priced, with slack for bit of haggling, if you spend enough. I myself have purchased a few smaller pieces over the years, including a wall mirror, a pair of end tables, some bookends(and some other amazing crap for work) that I can’t seem to remember. The owner is very friendly and I have no trouble popping my head often in to browse for what new goods they have, without having to feel guilty about not buying anything every time. will be back and post photos soon. =)
