Had a great time with my family, the food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone. Love this place!

Tickle Tree Café is easily the best café in the area. Every single entrée is perfect. That’s the end of my review. No but seriously, I’ve been coming here ever since I moved to the LC area, and this has been my go to spot for YEARS! My new favorite breakfast/lunch menu is their Cobb salad. The unique light ranch blue cheese dressing on top and the blue cheese entirely compliment the salad. I love the avocado and the hint of light flavors of sauce on the chicken. Their chicken wraps are my second favorite because I love the salad they come with. I won’t mind just having a bowl of their house salad as my meal. Just that alone gets 5 stars. I have never sat inside because I’m almost always with my dog and I adore the patio area. The ambience is calm and romantic. I love Tickle Tree’s vibe as well as their service. They make you feel so comfortable and welcomed. They even give my pup, Nala, a treat every time they catch her.

Tickle Tree Café is a great spot! The food is always on point and I love that they serve breakfast items until 2pm. The Breakfast Sandwich and Mint Lemonade are delicious. Miles, Juliana and Jill are always really helpful when I come in and make sure I’m taken care of. They get more order right every time and deliver it to the table quickly making sure I have everything I need to enjoy my meal. The patio area has a really nice view so try sitting outside of the weather is nice out. I highly recommend this place!

Love this place! I’m new to the area and while I was prepping my house for move in I stopped in at least once/sometimes twice a day. Green tea latte is creamy and delicious. Everything I needed in a rainy day. Coffee is great — I rarely drink it, but needed a pick me up after not sleeping, then nannying then moving! So I grabbed a vanilla latte and was oh so happy with my choice. Plus I have yet to be disappointed with any of their food. Their grilled cheese really hits the spot. Happy to be so close to such a great spot.

I’m a regular here for a reason… It’s delicious! I come in at least once a week and get a cappuccino, a mint lemonade, a soba noodle salad(with no shrimp, add avocado, add a fried egg). Kevin and Heidi are excellent owners who set the tone in the restaurant to be an elegant, relaxed, and comfortable atmosphere. Their staff consists of friendly warm people(hi Juliana and Miles!) that are always ready to make my experience there filled with joy, a good beverage, and great food. Thank you for being so good to the La Crescenta– Cañada community. Tickle Tree Café is the best restaurant in the area.

PROS: Nice hang out ambience with friends and family or to work on a computer(only 3 outlets inside, so come with laptop charged). Chai Tea Latte, Green Match Tea Latte, Mint Lemonade, Ticketree Burger are all very delicious. Love the rustic and earthy décor and tables. Love the great service. Servers and owners are very helpful and always nice. CONS: Rest of the food, including the breakfast items, sound and look good but don’t taste great at all. I think they get a boost in ratings because this area simply doesn’t have cool, hipster coffee/pastry/breakfast/lunch cafes to compete with so it’s the best that La Crescenta has. Internet is really spotty and not reliable. Sometimes it’s out for hours which messes you up if you were planning on working on your computer there. I had to drink my green tea latte fast and head on home to work. I had a time constraint of only having 4 hours free to work on a manuscript so that was a little annoying and that has happened to me more than once so I will have to take most of my business somewhere else that has more of everything I need — great food, great ambience, wifi, etc. *Other places like Aroma Tea & Coffee on Tujunga Blvd, Urth Caffe in DTLA, Republic of Pie in North Hollywood are much, much, much better in terms of fun & cool ambience & clientele, décor, food quality, taste and menu choices. I really want to give them a solid 4 or 5 stars, but they just miss that mark in the areas of food quality and ambience and don’t have enough outlets for you to do computer work(which would make this café a more full fledged GREAT place to hang out, socialize and get work done kinda place).

Cute little café that my friend suggested. It’s the hot spot for breakfast in the La Crescenta area. It was pretty full when I was ordering but the server said it was slow in comparison to a busy day. It was Thanksgiving weekend so I’m sure people were out of town. You order first and then take a number to your table so they can serve you your order. I ordered the tickel tree omelette. It had bacon, chicken sausage, cheese, red pepper, avocado, with a side of potatoes and fruit. It was good. I hate when omelettes get soggy or watery and this didn’t have that problem even with all the ingredients. The potatoes were light shavings of potato. Not hash or roasted potatoes. The side of fruit was refreshing. I ordered a regular coffee as well. Definitely a cute spot. Indoor and outdoor seating. Small parking lot out front but street parking is available. Servers were nice. Overall a good experience.

Thank you Tickle Tree for your existence and for bringing decent breakfast options to the area!!! This place has been my go-to breakfast/brunch place for the past few months. Parking has never been an issue(small lot in the back and plenty of street parking). They don’t have a bunch of options on their menu, but they have pretty good food. I usually go with the Tickle Tree Omelet and Santa Fe Chicken Salad, both are delicious options! They have quite a few coffee options. Their drip option is not the best but decent. Oh and I usually order their mint lemonade, but end up diluting it BIGTIME because it is overly sweet. Prices can be a bit high for it being a casual coffee shop. Chill study spot as well, but not too many outlet options.

Great neighborhood place but i agree with other reviewers, it is pricey. I’ve tried several dishes-soba noodle salad, pasta and sandwiches. They are good but nothing memorable definitely not crave worthy. Their pastries are great(they are from susina) but then again, charging $ 6 per piece at la crescenta is a bit too high. Now their coffee, it’s a hit and miss. Sometimes it’s excellent and sometime its not. I guess it depends on who makes your pour over. I use four barrel beans at home but as we all know, it takes more than good beans to make great cup of coffee. Their teas, they have lots of variety but it would be great if they could upgrade. Quality brand such as mighty leaf or numi would be nice. Its been a while to run into a café(these days where people are more health &quality conscious) where they serve stash tea.

What a great spot up here in the montrose area. I was blown away by the deliciousness of my BLAT. On sourdough bread I got bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato. Comes with a very very very good house salad. Very fulfilling, pretty much the perfect amount of food. Pricing, IMO, is decent and worth it. Love it here, will definitely be back.

I’m on the fence about this… they’ve been so hit or miss lately. Sometimes the food is delicious and so on point. Other times, it’s been pretty bad… like really bad. Once, I had a small rock in my BBQ chicken salad, which made me lose my appetite quick. So we called and got a gift card for it. This next time, I got the soba noodle salad… it was really good the first time I had it. The 2 – 3 times after, I don’t know why I kept ordering it. The quality was just poor. I had 3 pieces of shrimp butterflied so basically it was 6 measly little pieces of shrimp in it. This last time, I had the grossest looking shrimp. They just looked like they had gone bad, but I don’t know why they decided to still serve it in the salad. I will post a picture of it. I’m just so disappointed. Customer service has been great for me(I know some others haven’t had the best experience,) but the food quality has gone down. The prep is sloppy and I just want to eat somewhere else. This is my super last minute go to spot if there’s absolutely nothing else that I feel like eating.

This place does not accept AMEX. This was my first time at this restaurant for breakfast with friends and our kids. The patio area is very nice and spacious with plenty of room for the kids to play around. Another plus is that the restaurant is dog friendly. My ratings are below for each category: Service: C. Customers want to have payment options and eliminating a major credit card like AMEX significantly reduces those options and alienates customers. Despite the no AMEX, the service was good. The server was very accommodating and apologetic for mixing up our order — see below. Price: A. The price is very reasonable for a breakfast place so I give it an A. Overall: C overall our experience was ok. They messed our order a couple of times and some of our orders never even came, but the manager refunded our money.

After semi completing the Beaudry Loop Trail in Glendale we decided to get some food to recharge ourselves. After researching on Unilocal we chose Tickle Tree Café. We arrived at a cute café with lots of different sections to sit. There were three different sections with shade and umbrellas outdoor but it was HOT that day. After hiking we needed AC. We step inside and the place was bustling. It was 11am and the place was packed. Very good sign. We lined up next to the register and ordered our food, grabbed our number, poured ourselves some cold water and sat down. Our food arrived within 10 minutes *thumbs up* We ordered the: Portobello Mushroom Sandwich — I am a meat lover but after hiking and trying to burn some calories I felt I needed something healthy to not offset all my hard work. This sandwich was so amazing!!! I gave everyone a bite and they were all kicking themselves for not ordering it themselves. ha suckers. Tuna Melt Sandwich — Delicious Jim’s Breakfast — Basic Breakfast Platter Orange French Toast — At first when I saw the name just thinking about orange I thought it would be too acidic but it was really sweet and fluffy. Steak Sandwich — Very good. The sandwich comes with a side of sweet potato fries. Sooooo good. Someone else opted for the regular fries but the sweet potato fries were the clear winner. Service is fast, food is good, and plenty of parking. Sold! Will be back. bout great local businesses.

A very cute little café in La Crescenta with good food and drinks! =FOOD= 1) SOBANOODLESALAD: I haven’t heard of soba noodle plus salad before, so I decided to give it a try, and I was very glad I did! The salad consisted of equal parts soba noodles and spring salad, tomatoes, shrimp, and a whole bunch of ginger dressing. It was GREAT! If you’re not into the whole ginger dressing type of thing, this might not be for you, but if you like ginger, then I’d suggest giving this a try! It take a while to make, but it’s worth the wait. Also, big enough for you to share. 2) TICKLETREEOMELET: Applewood smoked bacon, apple chicken sausage, tomato, mushroom, onions, pepper, etc. I had a few bites of this, and it seemed pretty good. The egg was fluffy, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The omelet was a pretty good size for one. There were fruits and morning potatoes on the side as well. I think this was pretty decent omelet for one, and the potatoes on the side were very good as well. 3) SWEETPOTATOFRIES: These were actually pretty good! I liked that it was a little salted, and the aioli dipping sauce was a perfect addition. The texture of the fries were just crispy enough to my liking. The taste was just right and it’s hard to stop eating these! I recommend these. 4) MATCHAGREENTEALATTE: This drink was good. I’ve had many matcha green tea lattes in my time, and this one is just as good as any. The matcha game is strong here, and I think it’s definitely a good latte to order here. =PARKING/AMBIENCE/SERVICE= Clean, hip, and very cute. This place has indoor seating and outdoor patio seatings as well. It’s not a very busy place(came on a Friday afternoon), and you feel clean and refreshing the moment you step in. They’ve got a tiny little lot to park in, but there’s also plenty of street parking around the area. We had no problem finding a spot in the lot when we went. Food and drinks came out quickly, except for the Soba Noodle Salad, but that was already noted on the menu(takes about 10 minutes). The counter and waiters were very nice and friendly as well. =FINALVERDICT= Not close to my home so I can’t come often, but I think this is a great place to visit in the area. The price might be a little more than I’m used to for an omelet or a salad, but it’s not bad for the quality of food. Everything here was great, and if I’m back here, I wouldn’t mind stopping by again!

Went here after a hike to Spitzer Falls. Thought the name of this café was a bit weird, but weird is good I suppose. Parking: There’s a small parking lot, but there are places to park in the residential area. Ambiance: Very relaxing with simple décor. They have a shaded outdoor patio to enjoy your breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. This place reminds me of The Crema Café & Artisan Bakery minus the bakery. Service: Loved the service. The staffers were very nice and helpful. Our food and drinks came out fast. Food: 1) Sweet potato fries: If you love sweet potato fries, this place is for you. Make sure you get extra aeoli sauce! Very addicting and yummerz. Didn’t like the salt on them, but i’ll make sure to ask them to leave them out next time. 2) Eggplant Sandwich: Eggplant lovers should love this sandwich. I Ioved every single bite. The pesto sauce and tomato slices complimented the sandwich well. Only downside, is that the eggplant was a bit greasy. Other than that it is a must eat! 3) Soba noodle salad: I had a fork of the noodles and all I can say is that it was really good. The ginger dressing was the cherry topper for me. If I come back, I’ll definitely order it. Drink of choice: Coffee: Haven’t had their coffee, but if you apprecitate good coffee… they brew four barrel! Happy eating! :)

The breakfast sandwich is really good. The garlic spread or aeoli was such an important part of the sandwich. I recommend it, and the coffee is standard but definitely doesn’t disappoint. Id come again another day if im in the area.

Tickle Tree Café seems a little out of place in the surrounding La Crescenta area, but it’s a welcome addition and serves up some pretty good food. It’s an Urth Caffe-esque café in terms of atmosphere, but the menu is a bit more extensive than Urth and more worth the high prices imo. I’m no coffee connoisseur, but it doesn’t take an expert to recognize Tickle Tree’s impressive spread of coffees and teas. In addition to breakfast options, the menu offers sandwiches, salads, and pastas. I added turkey to the Grilled Portobello Sandwich and it was delicious! They were super generous with the succulent mushrooms and the pesto in the sandwich brought all the fresh flavors together. The sweet potato fries that came with the sandwich were great, but the garlic aioli served with it was even better. I tried the Soba Noodle Salad on a return visit and it was equally as good, if not better than the Portobello sandwich. Soba noodles served atop a bed of fresh greens, red onions, and chilled shrimp– very refreshing! The texture of the soba noodles were perfectly elastic and chewy and the red onions added a crisp bite. The best part of the salad, however, was the ginger dressing– it was bright and clean with a great tart bite. I recommend getting the dressing on the side as to avoid drenching. Tickle Tree Café seems like a really cute place to grab a quick, guilt-free bite. The only downside I could see is that its popularity might work to your disadvantage– swarms of middle school/high school kids flood the café during lunch and after-school hours and seating might be difficult to secure. Also, the parking lot is tiny so there’s a good chance you’ll be searching for street parking in the nearby residential area. I’ll absolutely be back!
