My new go to boba place. Love the Honey Milk there. So creamy and refreshing. I also like the texture of their boba. Not too mushy. The perfect firmness. Also, the staff there is always welcoming and friendly.

I ordered spicy chicken sandwich today and I really loved it! The chipotle sauce was really yummy and the vegetables were so fresh. I want to order different sandwich next time when I visit. :)

Really bad customer service. Decided to try the turkey sandwich; I asked what was in the sandwich(turkey and lettuce and vegetables). I got a piece of turkey with cabbage and a slice of cheese. I could have made this sandwich at home for less than $ 5.50. Never again.

Little cozy place but that is really it! Menu is too limited and many of them weren’t even available. Sorry but I wouldn’t go back!

Tiny little place but very cute. There really isn’t anything savory at this place. I thought the porridge was available but turns out it’s only avail during winter I think. The girl at the counter was very sweet and she told me to get their sandwiches which I did. I got the turkey and chicken and both were good though serving size is small but filling for me. I also got mango boba slush. That was good too but I got massive head rush from the cold slush. Good service.

Nice, little café. I tried the honey milk boba and some red bean and chocolate filled fish-shaped waffles. The honey milk boba is basically a sweet milk slush with honey along the sides and top. Kinda like Honeymee’s ice cream but in slush form and with boba. The reason I’m writing this review though is because of the little red bean fish-shaped waffles. Crisp on the outside and chewy and sweet on the inside. I love these things and don’t see them very often. Reminds me of getting food from street carts. The red bean filling actually has little red beans rather than a paste, which I appreciate. The chocolate one was good too, but I prefer the red bean. Definitely a place I’ll visit again so I can try out their other menu items.

I always wanted to come here to try because I always pass by this place. My friend and I went this place to have desserts after having phos. We were so hesistant with deciding what to get because they have many kinds of desserts. We eneded up getting a green tea shaved ice. It tasted yummy like other Korean dessert spots and the server was friendly. I would come back really soon with my family to try their other shaved ices!

I just came by and called. On the Unilocal page it says they are open yet I came by and its closed. Too bad now I wont even bother coming back… I was looking forward to trying it too. For a business to work you need to be open when you say you will be open.

They have a small and cute interior filled with decorations. It was easy to find a parking space. The fraps have lots of bobas and the rice cakes were delicious! My drink came out pretty fast and the worker was friendly and gave great recommendation on what to order.

(Dined 12÷23÷15 W @ 2:00pm): Would their drink and food offerings be fit for royalty?! After a longtime friend and I attended the hyped grand opening of Ramen Totsunoya in Old Town Pasadena, we had time to kill, so I dragged him to this fairly new business — Café Royale, next to one of the libraries I frequented and was hoping to try. Sure, a bit excessive to have driven this far just to shoot the shit, but it has been awhile since we hung out and it was around our childhood hometown. How would this fresh mom & pop do!?: Red Bean Mochi Pastry($ 1.50) — My curiosity led me to try this crumb-covered cookie-looking pastry. When I was told it was some kind of mochi treat I was all in! With a slight crunchy outside and a soft chewy inside filled with red bean paste, I enjoyed it but probably wouldn’t get it again. Mind you, there was nothing wrong with it; I usually wouldn’t order pastries and such in a drink shop regardless. [BOBAALERT — 4.5OF5.0STARS] Mango Boba Slush Large($ 5.00) — Mango… check! Boba… check! Shopped small local business… check! I seriously didn’t need this — let alone a large size — after a friend and I just had a large bowl of ramen and a sushi roll. Since this was my first time here with potential other opportunities if I liked it, I figured«go big or go home». The mango flavoring was sweet but not overpowering, and I swore there may’ve been actual tiny fruit bits! The slush was completely blended and pureed with nary any chunks of ice chips. The boba amount was plentiful as I had a collection of black bead balls rolling around in my mouth! Each orb was consistently chewy but not rubbery and the perfect size as none got stuck in my thick straw. The only knock I had for this drink was the price as I felt it was a tad high. But yes, I’d come again. Service — We were immediately greeted by both an older and younger Asian woman and then another one dressed in scrubs(apparately, she worked in the dentist office upstairs). We were the only customers at this time so we had their undivided attention. After we perused the menu board and finally ordered, our respective drinks were carefully made while our pre-made pastries were ready on the spot. Minutes later with drinks in-hand, we grabbed a table outside and kicked it from there — simple and sweet. Parking(Free) — Although I parked across the street at the La Crescenta Public Library(I felt this one-and-only time offense would be forgiven), I believed they had a tiny(no more than five spots) private lot in the back which they also shared with a dentist office on the 2nd Floor(owned by the same family). Otherwise, there was pleny of non-metered parking on all surrounding streets such as the main drag of Foothill Blvd. Of course, please be mindful and read all posted signs carefully for any restrictions. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — A quasi-country cottage feel with minimal floor space filled with hand-crafted coffee-related knickknacks for sale , a couple cozy places to sit like a wooden table and a cushioned window bench , outdoor front patio seating , and generally clutter-free taupe and white-colored walls. A colorful menu board hung above the small order counter . Plenty of both natural and electric lighting illuminated the shop. There was one TV(not turned on ) while a mix of different genres of music played in the background. Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, Café Royale was a charming new addition to the city of La Crescenta, and I was happy to had finally tried it as it kept catching my eye each time I went to the nearby library. The offerings were minimal at this point which ranged from drinks, pastries, salads, and sandwiches. At the very least I would return to try other flavored boba drinks but probably not any food or snacks. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(TOTAL paid experience was around $ 7.00BEFORE tip). And, although they accepted credit cards, not mine of choice… AMEX! 4.0STARS

This new café has been totally revamped and renovated with new owners. Café royale is truly a place made for the kings and queens of the coffee world. No more starbucks for me! It’s only been open for a few weeks but I’ve already stopped by many times for both food and drinks. I’m addicted to their multi grain(misu) frappé. It tastes so good and sometimes even better with a little bit of boba. Their hot lattes have been good for when i stop by at night for cold days. Both their salad and sandwiches are fresh and tastes good. The type of stuff you want to come back for. There isn’t a better place to go nearby for some good coffee and quick healthy food. I highly recommend this place!!!
