Service is very slow(I took me about 45 minutes to an hour to get my food) and the food is mediocre at best. The environment is okay and the wait staff are very friendly but there are a lot more places in La Crosse that are so much better.

Wife found a hair in her omelette. A very long hair. Manager came out and was arrogant but did comp everyone’s meal. Manager said he would keep eating it. Yeah, right.

Great place for breakfast. Portion size is very generous. Ingredient are fresh, the bakery is not huge but breads are excellent. Apple bars, apple turnovers and apple crisp are worth driving for, I do! The group of people I work with love the treats! Bridget is tops for waitress! She is so on top of it remembers people’s orders by memory. What a gift.

Service was slow, granted it was busy but it took over 10 min just to get our drinks. Then our waitress rarely checked on us. We both got the endless fish on friday. We both got cod I got the batter fried, the gf got broiled. Mine was just awful, under cooked and way too greasy. The gf said hers was fine but nothing special for the price. Doubt we will be going back.

This place is nothing like I remember. I grew up coming to this place as a treat for brunch on the weekends(which was rare in my family). As I went to college and came back to the area to live as an adult, breakfast here was always a treasure. We came here for lunch to celebrate my sister’s engagement, and the service was slllooowww, the order was messed up for several of us, and the food was terrible. I am SO disappointed. One person at our table ordered a belgian waffle, and that looked like the food I remembered. My mother said that the owner’s have changed over the years, several times. I feel bad for the original owners, because their secret sauce is now lost on the current owners. The menu felt like half of what it used to be. Its a real loss for this community and I can only hope that it can be brought back.

I had a chunky monkey waffle, which was the best waffle ever. Also hashbrowns were great. Great ambience, the place was decorated for Christmas which made it all the more pretty and cozy

Fazeys is a great place to go for breakfast. Every time I go there for something other than breakfast I am unimpressed. There are much better places to go for lunch ad dinner in the LA Crosse area.

This restaurant is a La Crosse breakfast staple. Everything on the menu is delicious, especially the bloodies.

Well, had to try this place because there was so much said that was positive but I was truly disappointed. The ambiance was nothing spectacular. The food was probably the least flavorful food I have had in a long time. Even more I got the Cajun sandwich which was very bland and the seasonings were completely off. The soup which was supposed to be gumbo tasted like tomato soup out of a can even adding half a bottle of Tabasco didn’t make it better the only thing good I can say about this place is that the service was excellent.

This is another one of those restaurants where everything on their menu is really good. But their hand breaded chicken strips are great and all their dipping sauces are homemade. At Fayze’s you’ll get fresh quality ingredients prepared well for the same price as as the crap you’d get at a chain restaurants.

Excellent food and service. Great bloodies but are extremely busy on the weekends and would recommend calling ahead. Great breakfast and lunch menus. Never been here for dinner but I’ve heard their specials are pretty good. All in all, I would recommend Fayze’s to anyone.

Not bad. Prices are a little steeper than I’d like for the quality and not unique food. Portions are OK. Not a first choice, but it’s not a bad one.

Fayze’s is a great place to grab some delicious food and chill with people you love. The food there was great. We got the sampler appetizer platter, the Holy Guacamole Burger, and the Prime Rib Philly burger. They were all very good, especially the cheese curds. I would definitely go back and try the other menu items. The service there was very welcoming and friendly. The waiter was very kind and respectful. He likes to joke around and keep the mood bright. Fayze’s also serves beer, liquor, and wine and even has a little bakery. It is pretty big in regards to tables number but it also has a very cozy feel to it. It’s clean and the bathrooms are nice. It’s not very busy on Sunday’s but it does get lively earlier in the weekend. It’s probably one of my favorite places to eat in La Crosse and I would definitely recommend it.

I had a hell of a day. A really tough morning — and dangerous one. Fayze’s made my day much, much better. Background story — I was in La Crosse from Chicago yesterday for work and planned to drive back home early this morning. Roughly 20 miles into my drive down 90 East, my brand spanking new car begins to overheat. For the entire drive this morning I didn’t have heat as well — just pure arctic air coming through the vents. It was brutal. The temp was –10 before windchill and dangerous as per usual in winter. Luckily I was able to pull up to a rest stop — very lucky for me as the tow took a little over an hour to get to me. No heat in the car, I had to hide in a two stall state provided rest stop bathroom and navigate the truckers giving me weird looks wondering why I’m standing there freezing my behind off. Anyways, I was brought back by the tow to the Mazda dealer for my car to be serviced — frozen thermostat was the culprit. If it hadn’t been for the rest stop I would have been in serious trouble. I have some frostbite due to what happened this morning — it was not a good morning at all. While waiting for my car to be repaired/checked on I needed to grab some food. A friend of mine that had lived in La Crosse and attended UW La Crosse a few years back recommended Fayze’s; it was a high and loud recommendation. I couldn’t pass up a golden opportunity to try something great. I needed to warm up and I needed something comfortable. Fayze’s delivered. The food was wonderful and the ambiance was just as excellent. What sold me beyond the hot coffee and great food was the service. My server, Jamie D, had no clue what had happened to me this morning. Not a single clue. I didn’t need to share, just wanted some normalcy and a warm place to sit while I ate a breakfast that I knew would be awesome. Jamie delivered on all levels of customer service and then some. After I was seated, Jamie ended up having a conversation with some individuals that I’m assuming she knew well that were at a table of hers. That said a lot to me right away — that the server team is well engrained in the community; people come back not just for the good food, but for the service. I live in suburbia in Chicago — way out in Aurora/Oswego. It’s nothing but chain restaurant after chain restaurant staffed with corporate trained servers. They don’t have time to get to know you — they have to push you out the door to turn the table and feed the masses. It’s a defining reason for my dislike of chain based food establishments. Fayze’s may or may not be a chain — I’m not sure. What they do well is hire correctly and encourage a great experience; get out there and get to know your guest and make them feel welcome. Jamie did that. So back to the point of this long and rambling review. While Jamie was chatting with her other table she had noticed that I was ready to order and waiting. I didn’t mind the wait at all — I was warming up and had time to text my wife to tell her that what was a disaster and dangerous situation was no longer. I needed the ‘me-time’. She apologized quite a bit even though I wasn’t at all mad or disappointed. I was actually very pleased that I was at a place that cared about their guests. I grew up going to family owned restaurants where the serving staff was wonderful. I don’t have that anymore where I live. Fayze’s was like a step back to my childhood — outstanding service in a cozy environment with great food. Here’s the kicker of this. Even though I shared often that it wasn’t a big deal that I had to wait for her to take my order(we’re talking like 5 minutes here — it was nothing), Jamie surprised me with a Blueberry muffin… on the house! Completely out of the blue I have a fresh Blueberry muffin as an ‘i’m sorry’ that you had to wait. I was blown away — and perhaps a bit over reactive(in a positive way) to a blueberry muffin, but the gesture is what did it for me. I never seek out freebies or complain. Well, I do complain when I need to and it’s justified, but really avoid it as there’s so much more to life than making someone feel bad about something that’s usually not that big of a deal. I hadn’t complained and really didn’t mind the wait at all. I was having a very difficult day that started out with a dangerous experience that I wish not to have to repeat. Jamie unknowingly made my morning. She turned it around. I had never been to La Crosse before but every single person I encountered on my trip was wonderful and capped off with a very good experience at Fayze’s. From the people I work with that I had never met until recently to the tow truck driver, the service team at Mazda, my hotel staff — even the people at Deaf Ear Records the night before as I spent maybe an hour looking through bin after bin… everyone I encountered in La Crosse was outstanding. My trip to Fayze’s was wonderful. My server was fantastic. The food is awesome. Request Jamie D as your server.

Good service, but food was extremely unimpressive. I had a burger with mashed potatoes and the burger tasted reminiscent of cafeteria food in high school. My lunch companion had fish tacos, which came with cod in flour tortillas — again, the quality of something that could be made at home in ten minutes. However, they have a nice looking bakery section — I wouldn’t mind trying their pastries for breakfast on the go.

Fazye’s is on my MUSTDO list when I go home to LaCrosse. I simply cannot think of a better breakfast that you can get anywhere. I adore the breakfast and how much you get. I shared a waffle with my daughter and it was beautiful. I almost hated to eat it. You can almost feel the love being cooked into the food. It’s like a hug or like your mom would make you. You can get a great bloody Mary if you’re a drinker and you can get all kinds of delicious food — If you leave hungry ITISYOUROWNDUMBFAULT, end of story. There are so many great amazing things to try there is no way you could possibly eat it all. However if you want to take some things home be sure to stop by the counter on your way out and pick up some of their yummy baked goods to take home for later. When my dad moves away Fazye’s will be one of the reasons I still go back to LaCrosse

Holy breakfast. I was way impressed with our experience at Fayze’s. First, upon arrival, it was very clear that this is where the locals go for breakfast. There was 20 minute wait and I am pretty sure we beat the rush. Staff was friendly and told us we were welcome to wait at the bar. We checked out the baked goods case and tried to be patient. It was worth it. Second, our waitress was super good — patient, funny, answered all of our questions and took our order by memory and got it 100% correct. I asked, «Tell me about the Bakon Bloody» and she got as far as «It’s bacon-infused vodka with a bacon strip and…» before I said, «I’ll have one.» Possibly the best decision I made all day. Served in a cute mason jar type glass with a beer chaser(of course). Spicy but not too spicy. Stiff, but not overwhelmingly alcoholic. And bacony!!! So delicious. For breakfast, I ordered the sausage Benedict, which pretty much blew my socks off. It’s like a biscuits and gravy had a baby with an eggs Benedict. A beautiful flaky biscuit split with a super delicious sausage patty on top of each half, poached egg and awesome thick sausage gravy. One of my eggs had a busted yolk when it arrived at my table, but it was still super yummy. And it came with properly crispy brown hashbrowns. I don’t know what’s been happening lately but it feels like almost every plate of hashbrowns I get is not brown enough and not crispy. So this was a crazy great treat. Deeelicious. And, as an aside, I am a GOODEATER, especially when it comes to breakfast. But even I could not finish all the food on my plate. Coffee and water refills were plentiful and never had to be requested. Enjoyed the décor, which included some local items. Seriously, we may have to plan another trip to La Crosse so I can eat here again.

Fayze’s is a great find and the perfect choice if you’re looking for a full meal out in La Crosse. The restaurant’s black awning that read«FAYZE’S CASUALDINING» in bold white letters caught my attention, so we walked in to find cozy wood paneling and the aroma of meat prepared well. Service was quick and thorough and the staff was incredibly friendly. The food was hearty, delicious, and very affordable. It’s a great place to splurge if you have the appetite for it. I had a waistline-expanding meal of fried cheese curds, Italian pork soup, fries, an enormous garlic-marinated ribeye cooked to a perfect medium, a glass of Lambrusco and a Pepsi all for the very reasonable price of $ 26. Fayze’s has a great selection of pastas, steaks, and American dishes that you’ll just want to eat. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially to gourmets on a budget. I also suggest going for their breakfasts. Definitely worth coming back for if you’re ever in the La Crosse area!
