Sadly, Ace has announced on it’s Facebook page that it has closed it doors as of June 4.

We weren’t sure what to eat so we decided to Unilocal for choices. Ace BBQ came up and it looked delicious! It’s not the best BBQ ever but it’s GOOD! We ordered the 3 meat plate and that comes with corn bread or Hawaiian roll &2 side. You have 5 meats to choose from– pulled pork, tri tip, brisket, BBQ chicken and spare ribs. The 3 that we chose were tri tip, brisket and spare ribs. The tri tip was a little dry but the BBQ sauce that they have is very tasty. I loved the brisket! The spare ribs were good too. Very soft. Overall, it was a good lunch!

Spare rib by far the best meat on their menu. Super friendly service. I would request one thing sell racks of ribs, look at bludsoes in Compton! None stop business! That is what’s its about.

First things first the brisket here to me is the best around. The Mac and cheese and corn bread is good as well. I don’t like cole slaw but everyone has told me that’s it’s really good as well. The ribs are ok to good for me. Not my favorite. Like I said the brisket sandwich is where it’s at for me. Love the pickles they use for the sandwich as well.

This place is good. I don’t know what’s up with the people who wrote bad reviews. Maybe they’re just busybodies with a Unilocal account and a phone that is smarter than they are who think they’re Anthony Bourdain. Anyways this is just a sweet little family BBQ place, good food, good service, generous portions reasonably priced. I’ll be back.

In search of the best BBQ? Keep walking then. I really want to give this place more stars, but I just can’t. Here’s why: They open at noon on Saturday and I got there at 12:19 pm Two persons already waiting for their food. I get to the register and before I can say anything, the host told me «Sorry we don’t have Cornbread’ and«oh, we don’t have any BBQ Chicken either» That’s a bummer. Almost all the reviews tout the cornbread as a must get. I was left with one Kings Hawaiian bread roll instead of the cornbread(minus 1 star off the bat) I ordered the 3 Meat Plate, I got 2 pcs of Brisket, 2 pcs of Spare Rib and 4 pcs of Tri Tip. It came with two sides, I chose BBQ Beans and Mac N Cheese. The ends of the Brisket was super dry. The middle parts with some fat on it was just okay. The Spare Ribs was the best of the 3 meats I got, but It’s nothing to special. The bark on the spare ribs were very dark and dry, maybe a tad too over cooked. The meat by the bone was good. It pulls off the bone nicely without falling apart. The Tri Tip was just okay for me. It was on the bland side and it needed bbq sauce for sure. The BBQ Beans was okay as well, it’s on the sweet side though. The Mac N Cheese was very runny, yet lacked cheesiness.(Too much milk?) The BBQ sauce was very vinegary and sweet. I did not like it at all. I ordered the Hot Dog and fries from the Kids menu for my boy. It’s a plain hot dog and the fries were just okay(not crispy) Service was okay. Price was reasonable. It’s a small place. They do mainly take outs, but they have 6 tables for dine in customers. Rating: 3 Stars I’m still on that trail to find the Best BBQ. Unfortunately this was not it. Try them out for yourself and decide. 2015 Review #21

Been wanting to try this place for awhile now. Finally got try this place today. I ordered the two meat plate for $ 13.95. Brisket 4 star Ribs 4 star Corn bread 4 star Sauce 3 star Fries 4 star Mac n cheese 4 star The brisket was really tasty and the rib meat did fall off the bone. Only problem for me is that I love sauce and this sauce didn’t do anything for me. The prices here is really reasonable so I do recommend other to try this place out.

Best BBQ in town and at a great price. The staff are super friendly too! The brisket is so tender. I recommend the cornbread — delicious! Love the quotes on the walls too. It adds to the cozy ambience.

If your looking for great BBQ at a great price, this is the place to go! I was very impressed. Even though the atmosphere wasn’t the greatest the food made up for it. I will definitely be a returning customer.

The 2 stars were earned by the cornbread and the staff. Both were excellent. The chicken was average… no gripes about it. 6⁄10 Brisket and tri tip however, those need some major work. 2⁄10 at best. For $ 20 I got 3 slices of brisket, 3 slices of tri tip, a quarter chicken(leg wing thigh), cornbread, small slaw and potato salad. Way too much $ for far to little. I’ll stick to cooking my own from now on.

Went to grab lunch here at 12:40 pm and were informed that the brisket and chicken were not ready. Seems like if you want to make money as a restaurant you would make sure your food is ready to for customers. Went to Orchard’s down the street instead.

I am glad to finally have a good American BBQ place by my house. I tried the tri tip, pulled pork, brisket, fries, mac n cheese, and corn bread. My favorite meat: Brisket or Pork. Both were good! Best side: Mac n Cheese Food: 8⁄10 Service: 7⁄10(nothing special) Atmosphere: 7⁄10(it is clean, organized, but does not feel like a BBQ place) BBQ Sauce: 7⁄10(it is good, but I have had better. It could be more thick, it drips off a bit.) Price: 8⁄10(they are a bit pricey, but they have good daily specials!) I am a big fan of BBQ food, and I cook my own too, so this was a treat. I recommend it to try. The are better places that I have been to. But this is La Habra so, I am thankful for this.

I’ve been here about 5 times now and I think it’s time to review! I LOVELOVE this place! The food is good and the customer service is fast and great. The prices are very reasonable for how much food you get. I’ve always gotten the spare ribs and each and every darn time, it has been perfectly cooked, smokey, tender, and delicious. Who ever says their BBQ taste like Chris n Pitts, PAALEASSE miss me with that! Chris n pits is carnival/county fair BBQ, the Norm’s restaurants of BBQ! UFFF! Today I tried the two meat plate with the chicken and ribs(I got my ribs, cause I know it never disappoints) the chicken was good, and I loved it! Tender smokey and a whole ½ a chicken! I love the sides, I stick to the potato salad, bbq beans, and cornbread. One day, I tried to venture out and try the mac n cheese and I didn’t care for it to much. It wasn’t the worse thing I’ve ever had, but, I’m picky about my mac n cheese, I tend to only like mac n cheese from soul food restaurants. That kind with 5 sticks of butter, a gazillion eggs, and evaporated milk, yeah that kind! But, the cornbread, yes it is so good to me. It reminds me of a mother who’s been making her cornbread for years and the whole family loves it! She decides to put cream of corn in it because she saw the recipe in Women’s world magazine and it comes out even better than the original recipe! It just reminds of a really good homemade cornbread that my grandma would make. My only wish is that they were open everyday of the week and open every night until at least 9! They are closed Monday and Tuesdays. Went by there on Veteran’s day and they were closed. It’s a shame a lot of people were off that day and here they are closed. All that business they could have made. Oh well, just happy that they are doing enough business that they can choose these type of hours and to be closed certain times of the week. I’ll be back again again. Love this place!

Real smokehouse BBQ! The rib meat comes right off the bone. The homemade cornbread was perfection! The brisket was nice and crispy on the edges, tri tip was sold out within two hours of opening. Arrive early and enjoy!
