This place def has some of the best burgers and ribs in Whittier that I’ve tried. Especially the Ribs!!! Sausage sandwhich is also the bomb, the home made jerky, ect ect…
PS If you want a real bottled root beer, this is the place to be!!!

Love everything about this place. Best snow cones in town. The meat is the best tasting, I have to say the best pastrami I have ever had. If you like a pastrami sandwich you have to try this place. The red skin potato salad is very good. Great service the staff is friendly. A bit pricey. Seems like every time I return the prices are higher.

The wait and service has not changed. My wife was there a few days ago…2 sandwiches…25 minutes. She said she couldn’t figure it out. These guys don’t get it. And they haven’t cleaned the place up either. The deli is great, shows the items clean and well organized, but the seating needs some rehab. Ugh!

A little tiny dump that is right next to a nursery. Great meats, AMAZING sandwiches and chip selection, and they have a grill that opens up around during noon.
Try the pastrami! It isn’t a huge sandwich, but packed with meat and flavor.

I love going to this place. This is a good place if you like to grill and bbq. The butchers have never let me down. If I order brisket they know how much to trim. So all I do is season at home and in the smoker. The butchers can also add their own seasoning which is great I have purchased it as well. Their Guacamole, Jerky, and Sausage are awesome.
For thanksgiving I always reserve my Turkey from this place for the last few years. This past holiday (2015) i ordered and tried their ham and gravy. Man, oh man, I will not buy my Turkey, Ham and Gravy anywhere except for here.
Also on occasion I pick up a few bags of Jerky. I have bought some and taken to my co-​workers. Everyone always tells me to get more and directions to get to here. I have yet to be disappointed with anything I have purchased.
I tried my luck here after a bad experience with a chain supermarket. I had ordered a cut of meat that was on sale. When I took it home the whole fat cap was half of the weight and very little meat. I never felt cheated at this place. When I have family and friends over and they love the meat. I always tell them find yourself a good butcher shop. I know I did.
This place is about quality meats with a knowledgeable friendly staff.

Boards Head brand!!! Good tasting tri tip and chicken dinners beside. Lunch is good too

Always come here for quick sandwhich fix $ 5 for a huge sandwich, $ 1 sides, old school candy that rocks, and great great fresh steaks/​marinated drummettes/​and seafood… Only thing I don’t like is weight I gain eating here! Lol

If you live down here or looking for a good sandwich, hit this spot. They have good bbq and great food.

I have long known about this place but never tried their grocery until this past weekend. This past weekend they were running specials — buy 3 steaks, get 4^th free and get free potato for each steak. It seemed to be very reasonable specials.
They offer full range of cuts ranging from fajitas to 2 foot long large bone I ordered some fresh & raw Spencer beef to go. I prepared it at home before grilling. After grilling it to the perfection, the beef was just perfect. Very tender and juicy. I will not step into supermarket’s meat counter ever again thanks to Orchard’s. Orchard’s will be my go to place for my meat needs.
As for prices, they do charge little high. I bought buy 3, get 1 free special, I end up paying $ 12.50 per meat. The retail was $ 16.99 each. It seemed to be very reasonable.
Will go back if we feel like to have high quality steakhouse-​like dinner at home!

We came here for steaks. If you buy a steak you get a potato for free I thought that was pretty cool. The steaks were flavorful and I would definitely come back and get another one. You can also eat lunch here next time I come in to get steaks or sausages for dinner I would love to have lunch there.

Yum! This was our first stop when we moved to the area and we were not disappointed. We got the family tri tip meal with red potato salad and macaroni salad and oh​.my​.good​ness​.SO GOOD! We ate at the restaurant a few times but next time we will order it for take out. We definitely plan to get some meats here next time as well. Definitely recommend this place for lunch or a family dinner! Also, the prices for the meals are very reasonable for the food quality

Came in for a steak sandwich, also got red potatoes. Thought it was kind of pricey for the little sandwich they gave me. $ 8.25 and a $ 1.00 for red skin potato salad.

This place is not only good but it’s pretty cool. Amazing fresh meats, they will bbq anything you pick out! Good steaks you can’t find just anywhere. My sandwich was incredible! Everyone is super nice too!

Actually really enjoyed the place. Found this business by just looking for a deli sandwich shop in whittier to go to besides Sprouts, and got lucky with this place.
So for their deli sandwiches, its about 6.99 for a cold cut, and 6.99 for tuna/​chicken salad sandwich. your choices on bread is french roll, wheat, sourdough, rye, and squaw. The deli meats are from Boar’s Head. And what surprised me was that the meat was STACKED. probably about a quarter pound of deli meat on the sandwich with a choice of 1 – 2 meats and it comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, pickles, and mustard. I requested pepperoncinis.
I ordered one cold cut sandwich (6.99) with salsalito turkey and blazin buffalo chicken breast with 3 pepper colby jack cheese and added pepperoncinis. I always go for spice but it wasn’t really spicy but the employee insisted it would be. And i also ordered a tuna sandwich, both with squaw.
Overall, i really enjoyed this place, service was friendly and they answered any questions I had. They have a bbq stove outside so hot dogs and hamburgers were available from 11:00am — 1hr before closing. $ 2 hot dogs right now. Will be back

I come here solely for their beef ribs. Make sure you call ahead and plan to give a few hours if it needs to be cooked. It is well worth the wait. It is fall of the bone tender. I recommend it with their spicy BBQ sauce.
I’ve browse the rest of the market and the meat here looks very fresh. But I have yet to try it.

Been coming here off and on for 10 or so years maybe longer. The quality of fresh food and vegetables are good.
The deli meats are fantastic, great selection. The staff is great, helpful and nice.
My wife and I have been here several times for the BBQ and have enjoyed everything we’ve tasted.

Nice spot run by a gang of younger people. Wow, that was kinda age-​ist of me. I guess I was expecting some old, Confederate-​supporting angry butcher named Bill to run the place. Nope.
Their foods were good. Simple, no frills meats, sandwiches and sides. Not the BEST, by any means. But cheap and to the point. If you want unique seasonings and flavors, this is not your spot. Even the pulled pork was only very lightly seasoned (a first for me, frankly), but their BBQ sauces are sufficient enough to add a little zing.
No ambiance. None at all. Not a date spot.

After a long meeting my colleagues and I went to have lunch and boy was I glad to have stopped by. This place is under construction but it’s still open. I had the steak sandwhich and that meat was like butter baby. So flavorful just a burst of flavors the bread totally worked with the meat the lettuce pickles tomatoes onions, i got all the fixins (no substitutions) lol
Believe when I say that I’m not a pickle persin but they said if i wanted the best then it’s better to just oreder the way it was ment to be eaten. Which of course i always do with the exception of pickles. But this time I ate pickles and all simply delish I’d totally go back! Yummm

Fantastic place to get your meat, poultry, and seafood. Everything is awesomely fresh and the service is unparalleled. I recall that the Mr. and I went searching for some seafood to grill some time ago and every local market just had horrible selections. We called Orchard’s on a whim, even though they weren’t supposed to be open. However, the butcher/​fishmonger not only answered the phone, but said that we were more than welcome to come in. You couldn’t ask for better service or quality.
As for a fresh Thanksgiving turkey, do order it from here. They offer Shelton Farms turkeys and they are way worth it. They even offer 2 types of brine for a small cost. Even picking up your turkey is effortless.
It’s worth to note that Orchard’s is renovating and will open up their own steak house in early 2015. The produce section is no longer, which is okay since they are going to focus on what they do best. The fantastic deli and meat/​poultry/​seafood section still remain, so you can still get your made to order bbq sandwiches and tasty sides. Of course, don’t forget to pick up a soda from their fridge. Total nostalgia!
