We tried this place today. Limited options. I asked for shrimp phở and i thought it would come with shrimp broth as that was one of three options, but it came with the beef broth. It was not bad… We ate our food, but it was not the best. The egg rolls were ok. Spring rolls were good. Overall its ok, but may prefer to continue going to our favorite place on Idaho and imperial

My family love Viet Phở, this is my first time there. Clean and quiet Vietnam Restaurant on Whittier Blvd, convenience location, friendly service with delivery service as well. I had Vermicelli bun(cold rice noodles) w/vege, egg roll, pork & shrimp. The fish sauce has no taste until I asked for more sauce. Also, this dish should be have a refreshing taste, but it was too oily. As for spring rolls, a bit pricy. I guess the beef phở was not bad at all, tasty! The Viet ice coffee, thick; worth to try. 10% off if you show Unilocal

Holy smokes this place is good, and clean! Went in on a weekend night and there was no one in the restaurant but the workers. Seemed a little sketchy, but that quickly changed with the great food and service we received. I went with the Chicken Phở and it was delicious. Great broth, perfectly cooked vermicelli and all white meat chicken breast. All together created a delicious bowl of Phở that made me smile. Checking in gets you 10% off your bill and they deliver!

The service was great, and thankfully the food was too but come on, there’s really no excuse for delivering our food with a hair on the container. This could have happened before the lid was closed. Please wear hair nets, thanks.

Have eaten here a few times now and this is by far the best PHO I have ever had. Came a half an hour before they closed one night and they let us stay past closing and it gave us a chance to get to know the employees and the owner Wok. This is a small place but don’t let the size of the place fool you. It’s a small place with huge taste. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Well, how do I say this. After adding salt, soy sauce, lime, chili, garlic, unicorn tears, and anything else I could find in the kitchen, this was the most forgettable phở in the universe. I love phở, it might be my death row meal. This was, careless. Whoever made this, doesn’t give a shit about you. That being said, the previously frozen egg rolls were surprisingly good. Spring rolls were sad, and rolled like they had something else on their mind. I don’t really like ripping get on restaurants, Unilocal is a great opportunity to sing praise and show great food to those who haven’t been there yet. I had to say this, though. This was my first and last time.

This is the place we go for viet food. I don’t really like phở of any type so I usually opt for the spring rolls and the banh mi sandwich. Wife orders the bun bo hue which they are known for and pretty damn good. I’ve never had bun bo hue until I came here and it is a much better option if you’re tired of phở. I’ll ask for a side of the bun bo hue soup to dip my band mi in to create«banh mi dip». For people that say the bun bo hue is bland, ask for extra sauce for it which is what you’re supposed to do instead of whining about it. That’s like saying my burger sucks and you don’t add any condiments to it. Place is run by good people so support them! Delivery times are fast too.

Service was nice! vegetarian spring rolls were pretty good! My sister and I both got a bowl of peanut sauce for the rolls! Ordered vegetarian phở and found out it was made with beef broth, then they apologized and made another«real vegetarian» phở. Was soso. The speed was overall slow though.

Quiet unassuming Vietnamese restaurant nestled in a sleepy strip mall. Food here is clean and freshly prepared. I had the Vermicelli Bowl(Bún) and thought it had the perfect ratio of veggies, meat, and noodle. Veggies(carrots, lettuce, radish, bean sprouts) were crisp, pork was perfectly seasoned, and noodles were firm. The shrimp was smaller than usual and slightly overcooked. Included egg roll was deliciously crispy on the outside and piping hot on the inside. Sampler appetizer platter had a bit of everything for a great price($ 9). Ours included four fried pork dumplings, two large spring rolls, two egg rolls, and chicken wings smothered with a delicious sweet and tangy sauce. The taste of the dishes were standard. Dishes were well seasoned, but lacked any innovation or creativity. That being said, I see myself returning for takeout or a quick bite before Pilates. Service was friendly and slightly better than your average phở joint. They gave me a stamp card that offers a $ 15 credit after the 10th visit. An excellent great deal considering most of the dishes here are under $ 10.

I drove by Phở Ly for years and never had a chance/remember to try it. Recently, I saw a banner mentioned new ownership so I decided to give it a try. I have ordered a small phở to go. Phở Ly separated the soup in a container wrapped with plastic bag. They put the noodle and the meat in another plastic to go box while the raw beef in another plastic bag. The soup is clean and I don’t taste much MSG inside. The portion of meat is just right. Yeah, i will come back again and dine in next time.

We really like Phở Ly. Clean and spacious with very friendly service, what’s not to like? The prices are on par with restaurant experience Vietnamese food, and the food is very good. The only reason this is not my go-to for phở is that I almost always eat it for breakfast. They’re not open for breakfast. Boo! You know what’s almost as good as being open for breakfast? This place is so good and affordable. We got two large bowls of bun bo hue and springs rolls. They were both so tasty. The bun bo hue wasn’t super spicy, we would have liked it to be more spicy but it was good the way it was too. All the ingredients were very fresh. The restaurant décor was cute too!

Bún is a cold rice vermicelli noodle dish topped with grilled pork, fresh herbs like basil and mint, lettuce, bean sprouts, topped with crushed peanuts, pickled carrots, grilled sausage or shrimp, and covered in fish sauce. I was craving this refreshing dish and looked up restaurants in my area, and Phở Ly in La Habra came up. In addition to serving bún, Phở Ly has hot noodle soup dishes like phở, and bún bo hue, but with a slight modifications for their non Asian clientele. For one, they don’t add pigs feet or blood pudding to their bún bo hue, and they tone down herbs such as mint or lemongrass in their condiments. When you check in on Unilocal, you get a free appetizer. We chose the pork and shrimp spring rolls, served with a peanut dipping sauce. For lunch, Stephen had their shaken beef, and I had the bún, both choices were a good deal for $ 8.00. The place should not be compared to Vietnamese places in Little Saigon, as its definitely Americanized. It does the trick if you need a phở or a bún fix. They have reasonable prices, and even $ 5 lunch specials.

If you are looking for great phở, then this is the spot! I typically get the beef Phở with steak and brisket to go. The service is very fast and the staff is always very friendly and appreciate your business. I need to venture out and try other items but my usual phở is just too good! Give this place a try, very glad I did!

My friends and I were around the area when we decided to get some heart phở during lunch. This restaurant popped up on our Unilocal feed so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is extremely clean and inviting. The food was delicious. Instead of getting phở, the owner suggested the Bun Bo Hue. Definitely a great choice for first timers. The portion was big and got me full. Also, during January drinks(any) are free.

Was in the area and saw the great reviews. Came in on a weekday at 5:30pm. I was the only person, but I was greeted with a friendly smile and told about the free drinks during January. I decided to get the Vietnamese iced coffee(café sua da, normally $ 3), which was brought out promptly. It was strong, and the perfect level of sweetness. I ordered a small bun bo Hue($ 7). It was good, but pretty spicy. Definitely not a dish for those who can’t handle some heat! I also think people who like meat should be warned that this dish is more of a fat and tendon dish, which I, as a lover of all thingy fatty and chewy, really enjoyed. But again, it might not be for everyone. Service was great. Very friendly, but not overbearing. I also enjoy

So I made a return trip to phở ly after ownership change. As everyone said, any drinks are on the house during the January of 2016. Couple of things to update: Service: friendly and excellent as always. Very attentive and I was able to chat with the new owner, Han, for a little. Great guy with a lot of passion. Food: egg rolls still good but I wish there was just a little more lettuce. As far for phở, the flavor has changed. It had more beef flavor and a bit sweeter compare to the current version that’s being served. Unfortunately, I like the old one better but I love the fact no msg is being used still. An hour after my visit and my mouth still remains moist and functional. The menu has been also reduced to a smaller one page solution. Price is about the same. The owner is still trying new things to adopt to the community. For sure I will return again.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – ESSENTIALTIPS&EXECUTIVESUMMARY: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – # It shouldn’t be hard to find. There’s an elevated sign on a pole that stands alone stating«Phở Ly». It’s a long and roomy strip mall which hints that parking will not be an issue. # This is the first or one of the first phở restaurants I’ve encountered that uses no MSG whatsoever in its broth. Fortunately, the lack of this«crucial» element doesn’t detract from the phở at all. It tastes normal, which is very impressive. Or… maybe it does, but only in trace amounts like the lead, arsenic, boron, radon, arsenic, and chromium-6 in our municipal tap water. Trace amounts as in 1 part per billion. Erin Brockovich would probably love it(and the fact it doesn’t have hexavalent chromium). The EPA loves it. I love it. The earlier 2 endorsements are probably false, but does it really matter? # The #41 special combo phở is clearly the best one here and at all phở restaurants because of the meat variety. I wish the combo had tripe and all the weird, questionable shit I don’t know the names of that I love eating. The meat quality was also standard and just fine. No alarm bells to ring. $ 6.95 for a small, which is a nice portion and $ 7.95 for a large. Opt for the small unless you’re hangry bear and looking to maul someone with your paws. # If you’re looking to fill your stomach up a tad more, try getting a half order of spring rolls or egg rolls for $ 2.99. It’s fairly priced. I ordered the 2 spring rolls(cut in half to make 4) and they were good. I almost thought I was served 4 spring rolls because each half roll was a decent size. # The restaurant is quiet and casual, perfect for dropping in for a meal without outside sounds to pester you. None of the tables are tightly packed. It’s a spacious restaurant where you can spread your legs and extend your elbows, which is great, but please close your legs. # Food is clean, simple, and familiar which translates to 3.75 to 4 stars. Nothing to complain about for the service. No loudmouths and chatterboxes yapping away. Ability to spread my legs and immediately snap them closed after realizing what I’m doing… good. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – MYEXPERIENCE: — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – In a quaint, little town that no one in Southern California has ever heard of and can’t locate on an map or tell you the cities it borders(yes I grew up here and I’ve gotten countless huhs, whats, wheres), you could say Phở Ly is out of place. The story must go like this: a lone Vietnamese kid was on his way to Huntington Beach with his meat packed, cooking gear ready, and smile stretched across his face. Except… he didn’t realize he was going the wrong way in the opposite direction to the city of La Habra. The moment he got off the bus and his right foot transitioned from bus’ final metal step to the concrete sidewalk, he thought, «Oh no…» He had a decision to make.(A) Take the bus back down for another hour or two to meet up his friends in time for the bonfire –OR–(B) Make the best of the situation, break into one of the units at the sleepy strip mall, and start a phở restaurant before his meats begin rotting. The beauty of the story is that somehow the landlord forgave him for breaking in and offered him a lease and the first bowl of phở was somehow made within a few hours without a pot. Let’s not worry about if there’s a heating source or not. Somehow, everything worked out and La Habra added +1 to its city population and diversity. Mr. Albert across the street said hello. The cat next to the custard cup sent its greetings. And Daniel the dentist gave his warm regards. I gave my regards too. I sincerely appreciate that La Habra has a reliable Vietnamese restaurant that does not compromise on its taste, cooking process, and has stayed alive over the past few years. The shop doesn’t look like much on the outside and the spacious interior implies that no one visits because the food isn’t good, but you’d be wrong. La Habra needs this permanently over Mr. Albert, Alberto’s, Alejandro’s, or whatever because we have too many of those. I can’t even find the right Albert and most people can’t even find this city! More restaurants like these please… that anchor variety of food and culture in this town.
