Came here on a whim and absolutely loved it! Had such great food! I tried the Romaine-​Kale salad! It was so good and fresh! I also tried the Lavender-​Mint lemonade, which was also refreshing! Pretty difficult to find parking, definitely check out the close by small parking lots or brun some calories on your way to enjoy some delicious burgers!
I came here on a Wednesday afternoon. It was pretty busy since school seemed to have just ended and seating was limited. My manager and I had a difficult time deciding where to sit but after a couple of minutes we were able to sit at the bar. Their bathroom is odd because it doubles as a storage room. It would be awesome if they could extend their space more to give it more of a ‘lounge’ setting.
I ordered the Seared Albacore Burger which was tasty and moist. I had a hard time eating it because it had a bit too much oil from the spread and possibly from cooking the fish. I shared a large fries with my manager and is slightly above average. Their Passionfruit Iced Tea was refreshing and not overly sweet, I liked mixing it with their Lavender Mint lemonade. It’s cool to see them rotate their burger specials so you can try something new every once in a while. Although, I wish they kept the bison Burger special on their permanent menu since it’s been my favroite burger from them ever since. Overall, it’s a great place to have a quality burger and fries when you don’t have time for a sit down gourmet burger restaurant.
Sidenote: According to my vegetarian friends, they supposededly have one of the best Veggie Burgers in San Diego!

Prelims: new American décor, located at the corner of the street, hard to miss is this divine shrine to the hallowed American sandwich known as the burger. Burger lounge is anything but a lounge — with barely any seating packed into this location, as only bar style seating or outdoor seating, Burger Lounge is more of a pick-​up and go kind of joint (even more so with the showdown with other people for the limited parking in La Jolla). However, if you manage to destroy your enemies and lay claim to a spot for dining at this glorious burger heaven, then consider yourself a lucky man. Or woman. Service is great — food may take a while b/​c they make it fresh, but they bring it out asap and the servers are quick to respond to your requests. Like almost anything in this world, for a premium taste comes a premium kick to the wallet.
At this delicious corner of heaven, the only thing that you should consider getting is the standard burger; cheeseburger if you must, but the standard fare should be the burger. The burger is grass-​fed organic beef; the vegetables are fresh local produce; the buns are made fresh from a bakery in the early morning. The compilation of these ingredients for the most delicious burger that have ever crossed my lips. The soft bun, the crisp and fresh veggies, the delicious meaty patty, packed with juices and caressing your tongue with that umami flavor that is so crucial to that savory flavor. These meshing of these ingredients create a sense of heavenly floating (probably arteries clogging) that will take your taste buds to heights unknown. The garlic fries are unbelievably delicious, with that wonderfully soft acidic flavor of garlic gracefully waltzing with the rosemary to dance across your taste buds. The shakes are a completion, a full circle, with the sweetness encircling the thrilling ride your brain has just been taken on, an awesome creamy and sweet landing zone for the incredible experience you’ve had. And then afterwards, you’ll realize that the hit to your wallet wasn’t so bad, that the food experience was totally worth it. Normally I don’t raise expectations b/​c then it won’t be as good when you hit the high. I have no reason to doubt that it’ll exceed expectations.
TL;DR Burgers made by God himself.

Yummy burger, although a little pricey. I got a combo and opted for the salad instead of fries and the salad was delicious! Not your normal «mixed greens» salad; I do remember some arugula and something else crunchy. The burger itself was delicious — the patty was very juicy and flavorful.
Pretty casual bar seating as well as a nice patio area. Wonderful on a warm San Diego day!

First visit here I ordered the Lounge Burger. I’ve been to a lot of burger joints and must say, their fresh (organic ingredients/​grass-​fed beef) twist make a difference! Thought it’s a tight, crammed environment, their food blasts with flavor.
Hint: Be sure to let the cashier know how you like your burgers done. Their norm is more on the rare side.

Fantastic burgers. My son was craving a burger so, what better place to go, than LJ’s Burger Lounge. So small and get’s busy quickly but we found a table in the sun and ordered inside. I asked the counter what was better, the Quinoa Burger or the Turkey burger. She said the Quinoa burger was «carby» so that made my decision. Dry and carby or juicy? HMM. I chose the Turkey Burger. My son had the kids burger with fries and a drink for 6 $. Great deal. Our burgers were $ 8. My friend and I were trying to decide if we wanted onion rings or not, we both have crazy clean diets most of the time and don’t eat fried foods but they sounded so good and I only wanted one. The counter told us she’d give us a sampler and not charge. about 4 onion rings and a sprinkle of a few fries. So sweet! I got to taste them and know that I won’t order them next time. They are a bit too breaded for me. But seasoned wonderfully. The regular burger by far was the best. The turkey burger was pretty juicy but a bit on the bland side. The buns soft and all the fixings minus the thousand island dressing. All in all, I’d go back in a pinch. I really want to have a buffalo or bison burger and heard they had them, but I didn’t see them on the menu.

We came here to the original Burger Lounge location while in La Jolla last weekend.
Much smaller than any other of their locations, but the same fantastic food and stellar service!
Great menu with veggie burger option as well, which I really enjoyed.
The guys loved their beef burgers, fries and onion rings, all very tasty, high quality and cooked perfectly as requested.
the salads are great and I appreciated that they make their sauces in house, love the BBQ, the bacon here is also amazing.
We were lucky that it was not too full for an early lunch, since there is not much seating I suggest coming for lunch or taking it to go.
Worth a stop, very good burgers!

$ 40 for two burgers that don’t even come with fries and 2 beers? The taste is there but the value is NOT! I can get an equivalent burger and more beer plus fries somewhere else.

This burger was the most tastiest thing I’ve eaten in awhile. The surrounding of the whole restaurant was tiny but cozy and the customer service was great lots of friendliness and smiles. The burger has bacon on it cause why not and it has the best fries ever. I wouldn’t go there and skimp or eat fast, cause you wanna savor it! Coming back to this place for a burger :)

Best burger and fries I have ever had. My husband and I both feel that way. We both had the Lounge burger and fries and it was made to perfection. The service was top notch. Our cashier was friendly and she also checked up on us to see if we needed anything like napkins, ketchup, etc. Sorry In N Out Burger but I have a new favorite now. This place is AMAZING!

I too good to talk about, but I still have to say something. Burger Lounge is a very good food, it’s healthy and cheap! I usually get the little lounge and which was just amazing. I defiantly recommend eating here. This is all homegrown meats. The burger buns are from actual flower!
When you eat here you will know that this is extremely healthy! Trust me I am not a random person the burger lounge created. If you come to San Diego I recommend you eating at Burger Lounge.

Wow! Their onion rings are super delicious! I got the fries and onion rings mix for around $ 5. The burger itself was around $ 8 so its not a cheap deal but it was good! I would definitely come back for those onion rings.

This was our first visit to Burger Lounge in La Jolla Beach. We were pleasantly surprised that this «fast food» restaurant had good food and service. When we placed our beef burger orders, we were asked what temperature we wanted the meat cooked and received it as ordered. The turkey burger was moist, juicy and flavorful as well. Our orders were brought out to the sidewalk table we were sitting at, as well as removed by the staff. Some counter seats were available inside if you chose to sit indoors.
My only complaint would be there wasn’t enough room on the outdoor tables for a party of four. They were suitable for singles or twosomes and there weren’t enough tables available when we visited to put two together making it a little cramped.
Burger Lounge was definitely «affordable dining» for the La Jolla area, costing approximately $ 60 for a party of four, including soft drinks

Their burgers are organic, and really good. I could eat them every day, and not be afraid to get fat over it, because… They are organic!
You might want to consider a to-​go order, the seating is very limited and the parking can be tough in that beautiful location.

Well this was a small gem of a lounge that sells burgers…

Food: Thank you for not throwing mounds of sugar in the iced tea. Burger was delicious-​although I would have liked to see less oil on my plate, I understand the sacrifice for flavor. I love the fact that the burgers are not perfectly round-​perfectly round patties are unnatural. AMIRIGHT? The cheese oozes into all the nooks and crannies-​YUM! The fries are cooked and seasoned to perfection.
This is a small place so time your hunger appropriately or opt for takeout. Our party of 10 sat on the patio and on the stools inside overlooking the patio. I liked the ease of yelling at the kids without having to walk outside.

I had fond memories of BL from years ago; after not visiting for a long time (I’m sorry!), I came back anticipating a grandiose meal and was left slightly disappointed. While still a great burger, I feel that it is disgustingly behind competitive burger restaurants now. The most noticeable was the bun; I recall it being a plump bun with perfect texture and volume. It is now a lifeless piece of grain that just holds the burger parts together.
The patty was a little over cooked but flavorful nonetheless. The grilled onions were well flavored, perfectly caramelized, and probably saved the burger for me. Get back up there Burger Lounge!

YUM! grassfed beef is the best in terms of flavors. the fat profile in the meat is so different you can taste it!

I got the lounge burger and my friend and I tried the half fries and half onion rings. So delicious! I’ve never been to this location before. It was the smallest I’ve been to but that didn’t make a difference to me. I love burger lounge and I can’t wait to go back again! Thank you to the workers for being so sweet and helping with whatever extra side sauces I needed.

It is AMAZING!!! The «Classic» hamburger was big enough to split in half, we took off the thousand island sauce. It was delicious! The onion rings were VERY good. well worth the price.
Also got the homemade «ding dong» HIGHLY recommended!!! These are melt in your mouth goodness!!!
The staff here went above and beyond for our group of 7… They went and brought us everything we needed. They told us it was full service… unbelievable!!!

This is the place for an all natural grassfed burger that won’t break the bank! Who said an all natural grassfed burger had to cost fifteen bucks? Not Burger Lounge.
Lately I’ve been rocking the paleo burger and a salad. Can’t do much better. They also have some tasty salads, fries and onion rings. The regular lounge burger is also really good. You could do a gluten free bun but it’s just Ok. If you are in the mood for a soda they have some all natural sodas too. To top it off go for one of the shakes. That’s if you’re gonna go crazy, I mean crazy.

Formerly my favorite burger in town, but now merely an option. The burger has declined in taste from the first year they opened. The meat and bun used to be full of flavor, but ever since they started expanding the menu with quinoa, salmon, and other alternative patties, it’s just not as good, sadly.
The fries are below average — not very crispy on the outside, even though they look amazing. Onion rings are always dry… My favorite things here are now the salads and shakes.
The customer service is consistently excellent though. The waitresses go around the perfect amount of times to care for you. Last I was here I mentioned the bottom bun of my burger was soggy and she brought out a fresh new one for me.
The La Jolla location is pleasant, though small, like most Burger Lounges. The view is nice from outside, but I prefer the Kensington restaurant, which is roomier.

This is one of my favorite places when visiting the LaJolla Cove area. The burgers are always fresh and reasonably priced, especially for being 100% organic grass fed beef. The burgers are by default grilled medium well and come with cheese, grilled or raw onions, lettuce, tomato, and thousand island dressing. «The Little Lounge» (their 4 oz burger, which is $ 2 cheaper than their regular sized burger) is perfectly sized for me for lunch. I also love that they offer half and half onion rings and fries. Their onion rings are not too greasy and are perfectly crisp.
Burger Lounge also has great customer service. Today while I was there I even had someone come offer to refill my water. They also brought my husband hot sauce even before we got our food order and offered to bring me three different kinds of sauces for dipping. The only downside to this place is the limited seating. During busy times, it is probably best to take your order to go. Sometimes we take our food over to the shore and eat while watching the waves.
Burger Lounge, we will be back next time we are in La Jolla!
