On a recommendation from a friend we came here while at La Jolla Cove. I am so glad we listened, this a little hole in the wall in a small strip mall. The food is very good. The sliders and the short rib tacos were excellent and the Mac n Cheese was pretty damn good also. This place is tiny about 29 seats including outside seating. Being a foodie I would definitely recommend coming here to eat. Enjoy!

Tiny hole-in-the-wall place with really great food! I highly recommend the macaroni salad as a side and the Smores Tort for dessert. The shared seating allows for conversations with the interesting locals. Well worth a visit!

3.5 stars — I ate lunch here — food is made to order, so it’ll take 15 – 20 minutes, despite the fact that it looks like a fast-casual joint(and to the disappointment of several people who ordered takeout). Sauce on the lamp lollipops was on point, but the lamb itself was cooked a bit too well-done for me. I also ordered the yuck-burger medium rare and it definitely came on the well-done side. They don’t have a deep fryer so it’s either coconut rice, mac and cheese, or potatoes on the side. It’s the first time I’ve ever had burger with a side of rice… it’s interesting.

This was my second visit, but with a VERY long break in between. I’m going to have to start coming to LA Jolla more often– just to eat here! Today I enjoyed the grilled Caesar with grilled veggies and the roasted green chili dressing. Devine! The dressing had a nice mild heat to it and the grilled romaine was still crisp but the char added a wonderful smokiness to the salad. I’ve got the lamb lollipops fired to go for the bf and super excited to surprise him with them(and sneak some bites for myself). Jo at the register was super friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I MUST come back sooner than later!

Located near windansea beach in a small shopping center next to a liquor store. There is a parking available in a private lot. Having just moved to the area, I’m starting to explore the restaurants and bars. This is hands down the best I’ve been to yet(and will be difficult to beat). A very laid back environment with the nicest people. Seating is available but is limited. But we came on a Saturday night around 7 and didn’t have trouble finding a table. Worst comes to worst, you can always do take out and eat on the beach which is a short walk away! We tried the following: — the lamb lollipops(5⁄5). Believe what everyone is raving about and just order it! Amazing flavor, cooked to perfection. Plus the coconut jalapeño rice on the side is addicting and a great pair with the lamb. — the best fork’n chicken sandwich ever(5⁄5). So delicious! The green chili dressing and habanero pesto is finger licking good! — blackened salmon tacos(4.5÷5). Very well done, the sweet chili Sriracha gives it such a yummy, unique flavor. The have a few beers on tap and wine available. Overall, had an amazing first experience here. Can’t wait to come back to try the burgers!

First time here, it was Halfy hour, I ordered chicken tacos and Cesar salad, the best taco I ever had in San Diego, it was so fresh and flavorful. Everything was delicious and the waitress/bartender was really nice and friendly

Very cute little local spot. The flavors are great! I would recommend the pork quesadilla. Overall, the food is a little on the heavy/comfort side, and the portions are pretty big! A great friendly casual atmosphere! Will definitely come back again…

Went here for lunch on my birthday while vacationing in La Jolla. The sandwiches were expertly handmade to order, boasted phenomenal combinations of flavor and made for a spectacular, chill meal. The owner was there, couldn’t have been nicer and took great pride in his place. As well he should because the food is top class. It didn’t hurt that he offered me a free pint of Sculpin for my birthday either! If you’re in the area, go to there.

Decided to check this place out tonight… wish I could say I was impressed, sadly not so much. They have a very small space so I was nervous if I’d even have a seat to dine in. There’s just one girl taking orders, answering the phone, getting to go orders ready, delivering food, bussing, etc… so as you can imagine, there was a bit of a line and a wait. Here’s what I ordered: Mac’n’cheese + short ribs Jalapeño poppers Corona And I was charged $ 30 and change! Apparently their website prices are not updated, so I ended up paying more than anticipated. So the food… Jalapeño poppers – grilled and stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in bacon… MEH! For $ 9 I don’t think they were as good as they should have been. I ordered them based on pictures I had seen posted of them, and mine didn’t look anywhere near as good as those. And the mangled pieces of bacon wrapped around weren’t exactly appealing. Mac’n’cheese – served on a plate. Who serves Mac’n’cheese on a plate?! It arrived luke warm at best and was mediocre. Boring and not much flavor, except for the excess of nblack pepper. Definitely not worthy of a $ 9 charge. On the plus side, I added the short ribs to my Mac and it was delicious! I could have eaten just a plate of that. The down side is that was an additional $ 5 on top of the unworthy $ 9 Mac’n’cheese. All together $ 14! Definitely overpriced for the less than average quality. Not likely to go back, but for those who try it, they have a parking lot and free wifi– but you’ll need to ask for the complicated password. #sandiegofoodgirls

Promiscuous Fork is a very small and laid back place with great food. Everyone that works there is extremely friendly. I ordered the surf and turf grilled cheese with the roasted potatoes, while my friend ordered the lamb lollipops. My food was very good. It comes with pastrami and crab with the most delicious cheese. I didn’t get a chance to try the lamb, but it looked and smelled so good! She loved it. I will be returning to try those. There is a pretty tight parking lot outside, but if you go at the right time, you’ll find a few parking spots. A+ for Friendly service, Great food, And of course having a parking lot!

Two dishes that I highly recommend you try here: Blackened Salmon Tacos and the Lamb Lollipops. Either of these dishes will throw your taste buds into overload. Atmosphere is great, along with the service. I’ve been here 3 times so far, and it was a bit two cold the first two times that I went, so I recommend checking this place out when the temperatures are 70*F+. They also have a great selection of IPAs and blonde ales. Overall, I felt extremely satisfied with both the food and service, and highly recommend this place.

Came here for a quick lunch and I loved this place! It is a little hard to find so make sure you keep your eyes open and the parking lot is atrocious, so find parking on the side streets, it will be easier. The staff here is really fun and friendly! They’ve got a nice big open window to you can see the cooks making your food! They’ve got an awesome and fun Hawaiian american vibe to the place and its amazing! I had the La Jolla Plate and man, I have never had such awesome food. The chicken is cooked prefect paired with rice and mac salad. AMAZING!

First of, this place is tiny. But they have great service. BF and I went in Thursday night. I ordered the macaroni and cheese with short ribs and Tim ordered a burger special. One bite of both and I regretted my order. The Mac and cheese was not cheesy enough. For a «foodie» place it was lacking. But the burger OMG! It was sooo GOOD. Thick bacon. It was juicy. By the time we were leaving the place was pretty packed. Great vibe. And good service. I will be coming back go try the lamb lollipops.

I’m giving Promiscuous Fork 4⁄5 stars because 2⁄3 of our entrees were really good. Customer service is 5/5, but layout of the restaurant is 2÷3… it’s super small and the bathroom is in a different suite of the restaurant. Kaluha Pork Quesadilla — 5⁄5!!! This was my favorite appetizer. It’s topped with sour cream and chives with Hoisin sauce… you wouldn’t think it would be good with Hoisin sauce but it was AWESOME. Yuck Mouth Burger — 4.5÷5 — I liked it bc I love garlic and this burger is packed with garlic everything! It really lives to the name bc our mouths were super stanky afterwards. June Gloom Burger — 3⁄5 — It wasn’t anything special… I thought that the cream cheese would have made it taste interesting but it really wasn’t impressive.

Not the best place to take vegetarians because the menu’s pretty meat heavy, but oh well, guess that just leaves more for us omnivores. Stopped by this place for a late lunch while I was getting my car detailed around the corner and was pleasantly surprised by the food selection. I mean I know it was good, but my cubano was awesome. I totally dig those pickles. Love how they keep the place like a little neighborhood joint, you can tell who ever is cooking back there in the kitchen puts the fooooods together with a whole lotta love.

I ordered the cubana with rice and a side of herb corn on the cob. My food was fine. The pickle on the cubana was very vinegar-y, which overpowered the sandwich. I still ate most of it though. The rice is good in a minimalist way. The corn was cooked okay but I’m not a fan of oil on my corn. I prefer butter. If I had just tried my food, I’d only give this place 3*. My boyfriend loved his food so much that I had to increase my star rating. It made me believe that I could’ve ordered something else that would’ve impressed me. He got the bbq bacon shrimp sandwich, by the way, and he raved about it. It’s a glutinous«po boy.» The place is tiny so we sat outside on bar stools at a counter that looks into the kitchen. It provided entertainment while we waited and ate our lunches. Also, it was easy to park because they have a small lot connected to the mini mall. I won’t be back to this place soon. However, it definitely has some interesting options.

The Promiscuous Fork is a burger and grilled sandwich restaurant that actually self-identifies as «a fun foodie joint.» I visited during the middle of the week with my family while it was pouring rain out. This is the kind of restaurant that has ~20 seats, its menu written in chalk, and a special multi-pork sandwich called The Notorious P.I.G. The Promiscuous Fork doesn’t offer many vegetarian options: two sandwiches, mac & cheese, and a salad. I ordered The Hippie, the grilled portobello and black bean cake sandwich, for less than $ 10. The Hippie is an impressive sandwich. The sprouts added freshness, and I haven’t sprouts had on a sandwich since Jimmy Johns got rid of them. The habanero pesto created incredible flavor. Should I be blending in hot peppers with my own pesto? The multigrain bread added depth to an already nuanced sandwich. I expected the bean cake and portobello to be a losing combination. But even that worked. I would avoid the coconut jalapeño rice. I haven’t quite figured out how rice pairs with hot sandwiches or burgers. The roasted red potatoes, however, make a great side. They were like upgraded French fries, and reminded me of breakfast with my closest friends. I’d return if I visited San Diego. I’d recommend The Promiscuous Fork to a friend. I’m certain I’ll try the caprese sandwich the next time I get the chance.

My wife, friend and I stopped by Promiscuous Work for a Tuesday night dinner at 6pm. None of us really like driving to downtown La Jolla because of lack of parking and lots of roaming pedestrians but we came at a good time as it wasn’t that busy out. I purchased a $ 50 voucher for around half off from one of the deal sites I use. The three of us ordered the Cubano(on the specials menu), Fork N Burger(added bacon), Lamb Lollipops, Jalapeño Poppers and a beer. Price was extremely reasonable for us with the discount. Our food came out very quickly as well. I started with the coconut jalapeño rice and really enjoyed the flavor of the coconut and the mild heat from the jalapeño. I would order this as my side again. The burger is a nice sized portion and was very filling for me. My friend loved his lamb lollipops and shared with my wife who also liked them so much that we would order those next time. My wife enjoyed her cubano but would have preferred a little more mustard. Both of them were feeling the heat from the jalapeño poppers which still had the seeds in them. The restaurant started to get packed when our food arrived. The lamb lollipops were sold out by the time we finished. The three of us all had a wonderful Tuesday night dinner at Promiscuous Fork and would come back to eat again. All of the staff was very friendly.

Very casual food stand but the food is as good as it gets! We came by for a quick dinner. Its located in a nondescript strip mall so didn’t know what to make of it as we drove in. Simply based on reviews we ordered the lamp lollipop, grilled chicken, sliders and a burger. Everything was great! The lamb was tender and flavorful. An order comes with 4 chops and the jalapeño coconut rice. The grilled chicken was a piece of dark meat served with the jalapeño coconut rice and mac salad. The only knock on it is the portion but it was delicious. The boys loved their burger and sliders. They even loved the bun. The place is small. You order at the counter and seating is all counter style and very limited. You can see into the kitchen through a clear glass window. You can’t go wrong coming here for a bite before or after the beach.
