I stayed at Campland on the Bay and thought eating at the onsite café would be convenient, as I was staying in a truck with a camper. The convenience was not worth it. The BBQ chicken and ribs was overcooked, dry, and lacking flavor. It was obvious it was warmed up in the microwave and served. If anything, the quality of the meat was questionable– the chicken had an ‘interesting smell’. Perhaps, I had an off night, but really this was the worst BBQ I have ever experienced. The sides– cole slaw and macaroni salad were okay. The dinner salad was actually fine; lettuce was fresh, but nothing special. However, only 3 salad dressings were available, none of which I particularly liked. No Balsamic vinegar or thousand island. Oh, and $ 4 for a small can of beer, um that brought the bill to $ 30. I hate to give a bad review, but honestly I would not eat here again. Food was low quality and expensive, but if you are desperate, it’s on site.

Just plain meh. Nothing was outstanding, just average. Unless you are right in the area I would recommend going somewhere else.

Nice to have the option to come here for a bite to eat. Food isn’t spectacular, and some prices are a little high. But it’s convenient. They do have kids meals for $ 5.75. Sometimes we stop by for a final meal after we’ve packed up, and the kids always like it. They have ice cream, too! This time, tried both the cheeseburger and salmon burger on whole wheat bun, and they were both pretty good — not great, but good. Fries were just ok. Sweet potato fries were much better. Pork BBQ sandwich looked pretty good, too. Would be nice if they had an espresso machine, but coffee was fine, and my friend got a frozen blended mocha that tasted like a milkshake: fun way to start the day!

Hard to give a star rating as the food and prices vary so much. Every night has a special: Monday was $.99 hotdogs(microwaved, condiments were restricted to little packets) Tuesday is 2-for-1 barbeque sandwiches,(didn’t try them) Wed. is one-half smoked chicken plus one side for $ 5.00(excellent!) etc. Being part of the campground makes it a convenient eatery. Service is friendly. Little ambience, just a room with inelegant seating and a couple of TVs and a service counter. The chicken deal was quite surprisingly good, and the real smoker chugging away on the patio added to the ambience. But other items are overpriced: over $ 7 for a cocktail, $ 2.55 plus tax for a scoop of Dreyer’s ice cream, $ 8 for bacon and eggs. The real smoked and barbequed items are worth a try, however.
