Had a great pizza a week ago and then tonight dough was raw, pizza was not good at all. Called manager Julio and told him it was not edible and he said«I will have to check the oven temperature, thanks for calling» Click. That is customer service at it’s worst. could have apologized for the inconvenience and offered another pizza or a coupon towards a pizza another night. But nadda. not edible is apparently my problem not theirs.

If you combine the mediocre pizza from this chain with the really crappy service of this particular branch you get the really unique experience of a pizza joint that only survives due to it’s proximity to a major university. This is your only option for delivery in the area after 11pm and they know it. If you have any choices, this should be at the bottom of your list.

Not a huge piZza lover but had to get pizzas for my team so went to this location. The people working here were really friendly and offered up some specials that I wasn’t aware of. Waited for only 15 minutes for two large specialty pizzas and wings. The BBQ chicken was really great-added pineapple for a Hawain flare! I expected the«works» pizza to be as amazing and it was ok. I wouldn’t recommend getting the wings here because they are tiny and aren’t great! Dominos has the best and juiciest wings!

while all the family and cousins were waiting in the waiting room at Scripps Memorial, i decided it’d probably be best for us to order some pizza to be delivered to us since we’d been at the hospital for some time. i Unilocal’d(of course) the nearest pizza place, called, and asked if they’d deliver to the hospital lobby since it was only a few miles away. we ordered their«2 Lg, 2 topping pizzas w/a 2-litre soda» special. they said it would take about an hour(wtf?) to which we didn’t care too much, as we were going to be at the hospital the rest of the night. almost 2 hours later, the pizzas get here. a cousin of mine who couldn’t wait for the pizzas was literally able to leave the hospital, dine at a restaurant close to this PJ’s location, and make it back to the hospital before the pizzas got there. we specifically mentioned we were in the hospital waiting room, if they could provide us with some plates, napkins, and parmasean and red pepper packets. unfortunately they didn’t provide any plates or napkins that they said they would, and they charge $ 0.10 for parmasean & red pepper packets each. and i swear their«large» pizzas looked medium-sized. word to the wise: if you find yourself hungry at Scripps La Jolla and the cafeteria is closed, you’d be better off leaving the hospital(or sending someone out to come back with food). –civilities.

Holy moly. A large 3 topping thin crust pizza delivered straight to my door in under twenty minutes? Let me clarify, a free pizza that was delivered in twenty minutes. I don’t want to know what wizardry is behind it, instead I just want to enjoy this slice of heaven. Granted, it’s Papa John’s and my pizza dough kinda resembles cardboard but I’m a broke college student who believe it or not, currently cannot afford Reagent’s. So, I took advantage of the whole super bowl thing and landed myself free pizza from Papa John’s. However, Papa John’s, there is no such thing as a replacement for the garlic butter sauce. Don’t give me two packages of your«special seasoning» because I want my sauce. I know, thin crust but guess what? I’ll still make enough dough space to dump it all in that sauce.

When I was a college student here, I varied between Papa John’s and Regents Pizza… both are pretty greasy, but Regents always had coupons in those coupon booklets they handed out on campus and Papa John’s has a fairly easy rewards program to tap into. After a few purchases for club events, I had enough reward points to get myself free personal pizzas delivered every so often. The quality isn’t that bad at Papa John’s…their garlic butter sauce is on point. But I don’t even want to think of the calories… what I didn’t like is that they got lost on more than one occasion to my apartment leaving my pizza lukewarm upon delivery. Love their version of the pizookie though. It’s a nice thick cookie pie, not ooey-gooey like BJ’s, but still very yummy.

The pizza is fine. The drivers are fine. The manager Jeanine takes responsibility for nothing so if you are going there because you have a coupon don’t bother. If their computers malfunction she considers this your problem and not hers. She could use a lesson or two in customer service.

Papa John’s Pizza’s La Jolla Village Drive location off Regents Road gets one star because their driver violated my right of way at a crosswalk and almost ran me over. He was speeding and not paying attention to where he was going. I called the manager to complain, and got a lukewarm response. He said«I’ll talk to the driver and see why he was driving like that.» I responded that I wanted an apology. The manager said he had apologized. But I didn’t hear an apology until after I demanded it. I’ve eaten the pizza from this location several times. It’s mediocre at best, and not a good value considering that there are better options in the immediate area.

Papa Johns. What happened? I’m gone half the summer, return to your store CRAVING pizza, order and pick up, break a slice and take a bite. of WHAAA… missing ingredients?! So little, it seemed nonexistant(tomato) sauce?! What tasted like stale and unappetizing flavor?! AND2DIFFERENTPIZZASTOBOOT… heartache. I mourn the loss of my $ 20 and my favorite/closest pizza store.

TODAY my friend from South Africa and I ordered a Pizza from your La Jolla store. She had never had one before. A commercial caused her to want one. When we called and ordered we asked the directions to get there to pick it up. We were told that you were in UTC. When we got to UTC you can imagine our surprise at driving around and around; When we called again to find out exactly where you were we were told that we were close. We told them we were by Crate and Barrel and they said we were close. We are right there. After another 10 minutes we found out that you were not even close to UTC but down the road off of Regents Road. The people working in the store told my friend that you were by LL Bar B Que. She said I am not from here and they said ok well, we’re by starbucks. There is a starbucks on every corner. What made them think if she didn’t know where L L Bar B que was that she would know what Starbucks they were talking about. When we got to the store finally, I asked to speak to the manager. The girl with the tatoos all over turned and said to the older gentleman behind the counter, «Would you like to handle this» We were lost not deaf. He said sure. He then came forward and I asked him if he were the manager and he said I am the in house manager right now. His badge didn’t say anything about manager. I then said I want to speak to the actual manager. He said I am not at liberty to give you her number and she is not in. I have never been to a business in which the manage is not available in some way. I told him that was the worst kind of customer service and he said I’m so sorry you had a hard time. I said Sorry isn’t good enough when your own employees don’t even know where you are located. Your employess need to be trained. How do they even find their way to work. The girl behind the counter had put us on hold so she could ask a driver where you were. I said just give us our order. I will never do business here again. He then said I am so sorry for all the trouble I am not going to charge you for this pizza due to the effort you made to get here and the hassle. I could have been ok with that but as we left the employees started laughing behind our backs. They should have at least waited until we were out of earshot. Bad Bad Business. I do not recommend anyone frequent a business to whom the customers are so unimportant or disrespected. My poor friend from South Africa was horrified at the whole experience. She was quite traumatized. No one should be treated with such a lack of respect.

I tried the chicken wings and the chicken strips. The wings I ordered with no sauce. They were pretty good, kind of like Tyson Rotisserie wings I found at Costco. The insides were juicy and flavor wasn’t bad. I like them better than Pizza Hut wings but they are nowhere near as good as Khan’s Cave wings. The 10 wings at $ 7.79 was a bit expensive but if you join their email list they frequently send out coupons. I have been getting 40% coupons during their Padres promotion. The wings were pretty small so 10 would be a lunch serving but for dinner either more wings or a side dish would be necessary. The chicken strips were ok. They were better with a little bit of bbq sauce on them. Service was speedy and the staff was polite.

This is the closest Papa John’s to me and I order from here once in a while through the online website/calling in. There’s nothing wrong with this location, except that I don’t think that the workers are very personable. Sometimes when I call, I am on hold for 15 minutes, which is quite a while. I suggest opting for extra garlic sauce even if it costs extra. Best thing ever! I usually eat the pizza and dip my crust in the sauce.

I moved to this area a year ago & Papa John’s has been my go-to pizza relief because it is fast, friendly and cheap. They always have good promotions(usually at least 25% off, sometimes 50% when you order online). The delivery drivers that show up have always been more than friendly and always gave me coupons for next time… until recently. A few weeks ago I tried to order a pizza with white sauce online, but didn’t see the option for it. I called the store & the young man explained that the white sauce was reserved only for the spinach alfredo pizza. Even if I waned to pay exra for it, I couldn’t have it unless I got that particular pizza– ugh. Dinner plans changed. Today, I ordered a small hawaiian pizza at around 2PM or so. I figured it was after lunch, well enough before dinner… shouldn’t take too long to get here(I’m literally right accross the street!). Over an hour later the delivery guy shows up banging on the(plexiglass?) of my front door instead of the wooden frame … maybe he didn’t notice that I have a doorbell… I mean it is right underneath my apartment number and all… oh, well, I forgive him because MYPIZZAISHERE! I opened the door to find a frazzled middle-aged man handing me a wad of receipts asking me to fill in his tip and sign– no joke– HEDIDN’T EVENSAYHELLO :( I usually give tips in cash & I almost considered not giving a tip this time, but I figure he might have been having a bad day… or new and hasn’t had proper training on how to smile at your customers yet :-/I gave him a buck anyways because my pizza was still warm. Sorry, Papa Johns… If I have to get dressed on my day off just to walk over there and pick up my pizza in order to avoid the angry delivery driver, then I might as well go to Regent’s Pizzaria and treat myself to a stuffed slice. If I am ever desprate for delivery again– Dominos delivers just as quick + I get delivery for free from Shoprunner + they have white sauce & will put it on ANY pizza you order, not just the spinach alfredo.

I never really ate Papa John’s until my bf, an avid pizza lover, would start staying over and eating pizza. Calling in or ordering inside has never been a problem. We once ordered online, and the total came out to something different than we expected — a special wasn’t appearing online. When we came to pick up our order, we told the cashier, and he fixed it for us — no complaints and no sighs. Another time, after paying, we forgot to get an extra sauce, and the cashier just gave it to us. Their pizza is always good, especially when you get like 5 million meats on it! Honestly, no complaints. The location is also great since you’ve got plenty of starving college kids in the area, and who doesn’t like PIZZA?

Bad service. Period. Workers here are unprofessional. During the 15 minutes I waited for my pizza, «fuck» was said about 20 times. One worker was even throwing something at another… Could it be a topping from the pizza I ordered? This is at 7pm, November 9th. Manager, if you read this, you better consider replacing staff.

I pick up pizza from here a lot — and get major cravings sometimes! Usually split a large pizza with another person — And usually order the Tuscan six cheese! Love it!!! Yes, terrible service b/c the place is dead(well any pizza place next to Regent’s Pizzaria would be dead…) but I can forgive that. Oh, and it’s obvious, but I go here when Regents is closed… but Six Cheese still tastes freaken amazing!

The pizza is pretty good. The service is bad! We ordered pizza online and they delivered to our place. They came to our place early, however, they called my friend who ordered the pizza. The person was a little rude. He said that he was kicking our door and no one answers. And the attitude was not very good! The $ 10 pizza with up to 7 toppings is a good deal.

If I don’t have the money for Regents and they’re still open I usually order here for deliveries. They tend to have pretty good deals on their large and XL pizzas, and they allow more toppings than Pizza Hut or Domino’s without the disgusting undercooked insides. The service has always been pretty good, and the deliveries are usually faster than what they quote you. Either way, on my budget Papa John’s is a go to when I’m hungry and too lazy to make something.

This is my go-to place for cheap, fast pizza. Sure, it’s not even CLOSE to the quality you’d get from Regents pizza across the street, but it’s wayyy cheaper. And on my broke-ass-college-student-living-on-my-own budget, a $ 107-topping large pizza sounds pretty damn good. I know this is so fatass status, but you GOT to dip your pizza into the garlic butter. It is so sexy. Also, ask for extra pepperocinis. They make every slice a LITTLE more yummy. They don’t get all stingy on the toppings either – hell to the yeah! When I get my pizzas delivered they’re fast and usually on time. The wait cannn get a little long though, so be prepared. All in all, a cool place to grab a quick pizza… especially if you’re broke.

Why would I come here if Regents Pizzeria is right next door? Well on a Saturday night at 9pm when I don’t feel like cooking dinner, I’m going to call in and order for takeout when Regents is already closed. The customer service experience is pleasant, i.e. I ordered my pizza with ease over the phone and I had a friendly chat with the cashier when I arrived. They asked me if I wanted to add wings or drinks to my order, but in no way did they hassle me. Albeit the friendly experience, when I got home the pizza was not impressive. I thought I ordered a large for $ 10 but I think the advertisement is misleading because if some dudes were to order the large, I think they’d finish the whole thing within 5 minutes. I ordered a «SPECIALTYPIZZA» called«THEWORKS» and I was expecting mounds of meat and veggies. However, when I opened the box I found something comparable to what I could get at LITTLECAESARS. Also, I think they can work on keeping the food warm while it’s waiting for pickup. Two stars for now until they realize they need to step it up like Dominos.
