This place is absolutely disgusting! Do not go here. I used to work here a few years back when I was an undergrad. This was the worst job I had while in school. To start, the upkeep is just bad. The place looks like it’s going to fall apart. I remember that most of my job entailed making pizzas. Sorry to gross everyone out, but the employees do NOT wear gloves when preparing any of the food, nor does the manager enforce it. So yes, I suppose that the oven temperature can kill most of the bacteria, but you’d better hope that whoever made your pizza or choice food item washed their hands! I also remember getting 2 slices of pizza and a soda on the house for staff meal breaks. Their pizza is less than satisfactory. Nothing special. Bleh. The back of the house(where customers can’t see) is filthy, there is dust and dirt everywhere, including what are supposed to be white walls. Staff is very unprofessional: I remember having had put in my two weeks notice and it was one of my last days and a fellow superior employee was teaching me how to make one of their specialty items. The manager noticed this and knew I was quitting and saw the employee showing me this technique so she pulled her aside, still in my line of sight(and I knew the manager was telling her I was quitting). Then the employee came back and said that she would finish making the specialty item. Very unprofessional. I hope this will aid my fellow UCSD comrades, past and present.

Put green onions on my pizza instead of green peppers. Also, very bad customer service.

I really like Round Table so I feel a little bad about this post. But seriously do not come here unless you have a LOT of time! They are slow! I ordered bread twists during a slow time(no line when I got there), and it took 24 minutes! AND it’s not uncommon to see the workers taking bites of food while they’re getting things ready to call out. The regular staff, not the students, are just unfriendly. They get the orders right, but don’t expect anyone to look happy about it. It’s too bad.

I love round table. I think it’s one of the best pizzas if your considering dominos or Pizza Hut or even papa johns. I’m talking about the mainstream pizzas. This ones the winner for sure. Great taste. Their sauce is amazing. The prices are too high though. They’ve always been. I’ve had great pizza at other places too but if we’re talking big chains, then I would have to say round table is one of the best but costco pizza is so good too! :) haha guess you can’t have one favorite.

I literally had no idea that Round Table Pizzas still existed. This particular Round Table location is located just outside the main student center building with the Rubio’s and plethora of other dining choices. Upon my entry, I was astonished at how many people weren’t inside — this place is huge! It was 1:50 on a Tuesday and seemed to be the perfect place for a study group to meet up to nosh and learn. There are sports TVs and whaaat — beer! The cashier was cool. As far as cleanliness goes, I give it a C. Round Table was not completely disorganized, but there were definitely a few tables that needed cleaning, and don’t even get me started on the condiments counter area. … Overall people seem to hate this Round Table pizza location, but I wasn’t dissatisfied with my two pre-made slices.

I can’t stand the customer service at this place. I been going to this place on and off for like 3 years because i go to school at UCSD and its easy. The problem is there food is inconsistent and there service sucks. I like that they do pizza by the slice but they won’t make a pizza that you request, its all random and that is fine. I went in at 4pm and all they had was the regular pizza buy the slice(pep, cheese, mushroom). I talk to the lady and she says come around lunch time and we will always have the speciality pizzas. I went in a few days later at 12 and the had 1 slice of one specialty pizza(veggie). I kindly asked how much longer for a few more specialty pizzas to be made. She said its random so i could not tell you, when ever we feel like making them. Well it was lunch time and no specialty pizza, i said i would wait and buy 4 slices if they made X pizza and she said no. I could not believe it. She did not feel like making that style she said i could order a personal pizza but a personal pizza is the same price and you get about 1⁄3 of the food. So no thank you. I decided to just get one slice or pep and go, i was eating it on the go and found a HAIR in it. GROSS. The employees are all rude, they re lazy and won’t go out of there way for you, and there pizza is so so as long as there is not any hair in it.

I love Round Table Pizza. The pizza part. The quality is inconsistent here. Cheese gets rubbery when pizza sits too long. Pizza pros should know that. They should open another oven just for putting slices in for a minute before serving them. Sanitary nature of cheese dispensers uncertain. I’m pretty sure the same parmesan shaker has been in use since 1997, when I first started visiting this location. The owner has gotten much friendlier over the years. She is actually quite pleasant to interact with now. It is difficult to hear the numbers when they get called out. The trick, folks, is to hold down the microphone trigger for a half-second before you start speaking. That way it doesn’t get cut off. Pepperoni! yay

pros… loved eating here when i was a student at ucsd, it was 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and a large root beer soda. i would eat this about 2 – 3 times a week way back when. loved how the pepperoni would just curl up and collect little pools of oil and fat. and that they made the crust to crispy. love that they still have TVs and that things have not really changed inside here, but outside is another story. cons…service was usually by a fellow student, so depending on how that person’s life was at the moment would be hit or miss. place was not the neatest, still depending on which ever student was in charge of cleaning up after other students. no way of parking nearby if you just want a slice and then leaving. but we are in the heart of the price center. all in all mostly memories for me.

The pizza tastes good, but it can take quite a while to get an order. Also sometimes the pizza slices aren’t cut quite well, making the pizza slices break apart.

Got food poisoning from them yesterday, spent all last night throwing up. I used to eat here once or twice a week, no more. The employees are usually nice and the food is decent, but I won’t be risking dealing with this sickness again. I called them to let them know that I got sick from their pizza and the guy I spoke with was trying to say I’m allergic to vegetables and chicken — thanks for your ‘concern’, but I think an adult has some idea of what they’re allergic to. For the record I ate the Chicken and Vegetable Artisan Flatbread pizza.

Likes: they serve alcohol on campus, parmesan garlic twists, fresh made pizzas, spaghetti and meatballs Dislikes: slow-moving line, the long wait for your food, loud music on the patio when there is an undergraduate event If you’re craving pizza on campus, Round Table is your best bet. I prefer ordering a personal pizza over the slices that have been sitting around in the glass case. It takes longer but is worth the wait. And if you’re going to wait for a pizza, might as well order the garlic parmesan twists as well. They are SO good but probably SO bad for you. The spaghetti and meatballs are actually pretty tasty too. And they come with a free parmesan garlic twist. The salads here suck so if you’re looking for heatlhy, go to Croutons.

I agree with the last review. I LOVE the pizza here. Besides the pizza, I love their sandwiches and their pastas. I find the people behind the counter to be very friendly. They always lift my mood after a long day of classes. I have been to other Round Tables and the prices here are less than other places

I went into Round Table Pizza during my lunch break and was seriously disappointed at the lack of service, marginal food, and awful long wait. I’ve eaten all over campus, the UTC area, Pacific Beach, and Ocean Beach, and when I enter — whoever is behind the cashier or server generally help me out. I am somewhat if a picky eater, so I have plenty of questions about the menu items and always up for suggestions. The first time I came in, I stood there for about 5 mins, before the cashier noticed me. I asked a few question, but she was distracted by something in the back and said«i’ll be with you in a minute» but one minute became five then ten. I said screw it, it’s their lost. Whenever I come to eat at a venue, if the food is good and service is superb, then I come back 2 – 4 times a month(even weekly!). A few weeks passed, and I said why not give them another try. As expected, the service was slow and generally, don’t come in with questions. This lady was rude because I was unsure of how their combos work. It amazes me how surprised she was that someone would have actually question about what they are about to eat. I ordered a spaghetti that came with a salad and a drink. The ticket said To-Go because I was bringing it back to the office to eat. Then I waited for about 20 minutes to get a box of spaghetti and salad. The cashier left my salad on the other end of the counter, so I assumed that she was going to give my food there. Then a lady in a purple shirt, assuming that she was a manger, brought my spaghetti to the other end after calling my number. Then I made her see me that I’m on the other side and she shouted«over here, Come on!» like she was some crazy drill sergeant. I thought that was pretty rude. My spaghetti came on a plate and not a To-Go container. I told her it was To-Go and she gave me a bag and a box… and I looked at her like«are you going to package it for me?» After waiting for almost 25 minutes and have this lady yell at me from across the counter, I was about to not pack my own To-Go box because they could not read a simple ticket. Then, Finally! Back in the office and was super excited for this spaghetti. Unfortunately, the food was as bland as the service. I would give them another try, and next time try their pizza… but that isn’t going to be for awhile because I don’t see myself craving for a pie so bad that I am willing to subject myself to terrible service.

I didn’t come here often as a student cause having a slice of pizza for a meal satisfying. However, I came here a lot for catering. Their quite a few selections from the premium specialty menu and they stack it with toppings.

Great reasonable prices! They have beer and they also sell pizza by the slice! I had a mini-pizza and it was delicious for only $ 5! They also have other $ 5ish deals! Will definitely be coming back! *Do not recommend the hot wings. soggy and lots of fat on it.

Ahhh Round Table, my choice of places to reside after a crappy midterm or just to hang out with friends. Sure the place is overpriced as are all things on campus… but just the fact that you can walk from class straight to this place, and order a pizza and a pitcher with some friends makes it worth it. Maybe I’m reviewing the extremely fun times I’ve had with all of my friends here, but regardless of that, I actually like their pizza, and the beer, when their lines are cleaned(of course I detracted for this grotesque mistreatment of delicious beer) is exceptional. If you need a place to get a bite and a beer without having to go off campus and staying local to the middle of campus, Round Table is a surefire way to have a good time. And if you are still a skeptic… contact me and I’ll change your opinion! Cheers!

Not to rag on the parade of good reviews here, but I’ve been consistently unimpressed by Round Table’s offerings. The $ 5 deal sounds good, but other than the drink you get pretty much nothing of quality. The regular slices of pizza are minuscule– I could probably fit a whole slice into the palm of my hand. The personal pan pizza might be the right size for a 3 year-old, but certainly not a college student. The«hero» sandwich looks like something microwaved out of a Hungry Man meal. Everything oozes grease, but somehow that doesn’t translate into taste. Slow, lackluster service doesn’t help. About the only redeeming feature is the alcohol, but that’s overpriced and the service is far worse than the new bar at Home Plate. Meh.

I generally love this place. 1. They serve beer 2. They show sports highlights on their TVs 3. Their pizza is very tasty. Their pizza costs a little more than I would like to spend at lunch, but that’s okay, I don’t come here very often. My most recent visit, I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza(which is about 8 medium sized slices) which cost about 13 dollars, along with a pitcher of ShockTop. Well, they ran out of ShockTop, so we only got a half a pitcher full. No big deal right? The lady asked us what other beer we would like for our other half’s share. We asked for Newcastle. She refused, claiming it was too expensive. UmMmM, excuse me?! We ORDERED shocktop and you told us you had it. You should be catering to US as you are not providing US with what we want. Jerk. We ended up getting Bud light, because I’m not a huge beer lover and didn’t like any of the other cheap selections they had. So I ended up paying for a pitcher of ShockTop, but only getting half a pitcher of ST and half a pitcher of Bud Light which probably cost way less. Thanks for ripping me off, Round Table. Other than leaving a sour taste in my mouth because I didn’t get my money’s worth, I still like this place, haha. I mean shoot, can you blame me?! BEERANDPIZZA. :)

I’ve been here once since I started school last fall. This is a no-brainer, but don’t come during 0 week at closing time. They will have about 5 dead, dried-up pizza slices left. Anyway, I had a slice of cheese and a slice of vegetable pizza. The veggie pizza had too much garlic, which overpowered the flavors of everything else. It was most likely my timing, but the zucchini was very dried out. The cheese pizza was fine, but again, I got the last of it so the cheese had a rubbery, plastic texture to it. I could tell it was once a good pizza, though. The woman working the register was nice! Like any establishment in Price Center, I’d only come again if I were desperate for food or just lazy… but definitely skip Burger King and eat here.
