This is an awesome Starbucks — the baristas are really customer-focused and fun, and even though the dining room is kinda small I had no problem finding a place to plug-in and work. I would have stayed longer just for the good atmosphere! Great!

The drinks were just fine. Many smiles and thanks to the snooty cashier and barista, many crusty, too-cool-for-schools, in return… whoa. Cheer up guys. We live at the beach. Life doesn’t suck.

My husband and I came here so I could charge my phone. The drink we ordered was ok(pretty standard Starbucks). I went to use the restroom and was appalled. Let’s just say I thought I was using the restroom at a gas station or truck stop. It was so disgusting. I started to look around after using the restroom and noticed there were straw wrappers everywhere, napkins all over the floor, and some sticky substance on the floor that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week. It looked like a bar at closing time! I’m shocked that of all locations this was the dirtiest Starbucks I have ever seen! There were 3 people working in there and none of them made any attempt to clean up! It wasn’t even busy!

What can you expect but consistency. This will be one of my new hang outs since it is so close to work and play.

Awesome if you’re a regular and just ok if you’re not. Being a regular at this busy location definitely has its perks. Stellar service and quick to get your drink. If you’re not a regular, be prepared to stand and wait as if you were invisible as they cater to their regulars standing behind you. As only a semi-regular, I’ve been subject to treatment as both. If Jimmy’s the barista on duty, you won’t be disappointed. The others could be hit or miss. Come early as the place is usually a mess by the afternoon and the shelves are bare. High traffic spot with tourists, wanderers looking for a restroom and maybe not enough staff.

I LOVETHISPLACE! They make REALLY good drinks at this one… definitely a really great place to have your favorite made well. They have free Wi-Fi, outdoor seating, and a pretty great people watching area A friend found sediment that I had previously never seen in a drink that I regularly buy there. Apparently soy milk sometimes congeals and creates little gross things at the bottom… fine whatever, I’ve seen them since then in other drinks. However, the guy was extremely nice and helpful to make my friend another drink. Last time I checked, customers are always right, or should at least be treated with respect and they did it .Plus, they have a sign that says something like, «If your drink isn’t made perfectly every time, tell us and we’ll fix it.» THATSOGREAT !

Starbucks has the best customer service. My son is 3, they made sure his hot chocolate wasn’t too hot for him. As we were leaving my son knocked over a ladies coffee and it spilled. We were going to purchase her another coffee but the barista gave her another one. That was really really amazing to see. I love Starbucks even more!

I stopped in this Starbucks, no doubt great full that they were opened and ordered a grande hot chocolate with whipped cream and a vanilla bean scone. I wanted a toasted bagel, but they were already out by 9:30 in the morning. The hot chocolate was good, was frothy on top, and had good chocolate smooth flavor as it should, but not overly sweet, which I liked( ). The vanilla bean scone was moist typical of the brand they carry, perhaps a little drier than usual, but it had a good mild vanilla bean flavor( ). Service was good but it felt a little rushed. The girl at the counter seemed nice. This is a narrow and smaller location, but they do sport some good seating inside and outside.

So I came here after going to La Jolla Cove with my sister and my friend Clare was visiting from Australia. We were pretty tired we drove down to South San Diego then drove up to La Jolla and had intentions of driving all the way back to LA in less than a day. We definitely needed a little caffeine pick me up before a long ride home so we searched Starbucks on Unilocal and stumbled across this location. I guess I chose a nice time to come to the Starbucks because the holiday season of La Jolla is downtown area was set up very beautiful. There is a Christmas tree made out of point Santos that was so stunning right outside the door. We were a little bit put off by the fact is a long line however the line moved exceptionally fast and the drinks were as expected well-prepared and this is a really cute local café. There were a lot of students there studying for finals, a couple business meetings, and a few solo locals. I wish I lived in La Jolla it’s so beautiful!!! Great Starbucks location. Give it a try!!!

This is my new go to morning Starbucks! Staff is all super friendly and pretty quick with orders during peak hours. They never seem to have a lot of breakfast sandwiches and pastries on hand and always have to stop and go check which is strange. They have a couple patio tables out front which is also really nice

The service was unreasonably slow. The baristas were unprofessional, in that some mother and daughter pair walked in, without washing her hands or exposed arm pits and made her own drink. Not a huge deal considering she wasn’t making my drink, but when they are slowing down the alreadt sloth pace, it’s annoying. The blonde barista girl at the cash register was this stores only saving grace. Not that she was amazing, but she was nice and at least seemingly aware of the sub par weak vessels with whom she was associated.

Sometimes you just need a coffee and you realize, «Wait, I’m in La Jolla and they only do Starbucks!» Seriously, I was willing to walk to the ends of the earth to find good coffee, but no luck. Stopped in here and ordered a basic latte. Same as always– just OK. The interior is comfy. I like the stools and high booths. Not sure if it was the all-male staff, but the bathroom was falling apart; no t.p., no p.t. and lots of trash. *shrug* It happens.

It’s been unusually hot and humid in San Diego lately and you can always expect Starbucks to provide some respite from the hot weather. We got the blackberry mojito tea lemonade and the cool lime refresher. We sat down at the bar area where we can watch the baristas make the drinks. As usual the drinks were always excellent! This location was pretty small compared to other locations… ANDBUSY!!! There were long lines and it was very crowded. But my two star rating has nothing to do with the small store, the crowd or the lack of parking. My problem with this Starbucks was the staff. I’ve never had such bad service from Starbucks baristas before. Every single person who work here was snobby, arrogant and bitchy. The baristas looked like they don’t want to be there! Yes, they were busy and I’m sure they were overwhelmed with drink orders. But there was no need to give customers attitude. Since we were sitting at the bar area, we could hear the baristas talking to each other. My partner overheard one of the baristas say something about people expecting them to call out their names. But, I can’t believe what I heard from one of them when the crowd died down. The baristas were cleaning the counters and I hear one of them say. «People are just idiots!» The baristas in this location need to be re-trained in customer service or just replaced. They’re not upholding to the Starbucks quality of service and friendliness.

I’m sitting at the bar right now at the Starbucks writing the review. Like any Starbucks the drinks are never disappointing regardless if they make them wrong or not it’s for sure you will get a drink for sure. This location is tiny! There is always a line for drinks and bathroom it can get crowded, I can’t imagine why student would come here to study, it’s loud and busy! The staff like other reviews said can be snooty, bitchy and rude(attitude). It’s la Jolla people remember it’s nothing but snobby people here so makes sense whey their staff will be like that too. Sitting here I just heard one of the baristas say to another one«ugh. It’s like people expect us to say their names» umm well duh don’t Starbucks do that?! Apparently not here! Overall good and decent enough. Will I return maybe if I am bj the area but other than that no. There are better location that have parking, friendly service and roomy inside.

The friendliest Starbucks I have ever been to!!! As most people, I’ve been to a ton of different Starbucks locations in my area and abroad. It’s typically a forgettable affair. However, while on vacation in San Diego, I visited the La Jolla Starbucks on Prospect and I had the best experience I can remember. My girlfriend was giving her order for a regular coffee and the barista asked if we were ok to wait a few minutes for a fresh brew because she didn’t want to give us old coffee. We were pretty shocked because we were never asked this at our typical Starbucks. We told her we were shocked she asked us and she offered us the coffee on the house for our troubles in the past. We were so thankful and it just goes to show the level of customer service at this location. I would highly recommend this location to anyone needing a brew after hitting the beach and thanks again for treating some out of towners to coffee!!!

Cashier Amanda is incredibly rude. And she was placing her foot on the shelf next to the plastic wrap. That’s disgusting. Terrible service. Update: As I waited for my drink I called to tell Kaitlyn to leave a message for the manager regarding this. Came back in to wait and noticed that Kaitlyn told Amanda regarding the call. They proceeded to talk to themselves and assuring that Amanda was not rude. Then started slapping supplies near me. Will call corporate and this store location when a manager is in.

I came here to enjoy a nice coffee and relax and by the time I left I was stressed out and furious. First off my friend went to ask for some napkins, and the blonde barista gave her attitude. Second they completely messed up my order. I have a dairy allergy and ordered my drink with soy, and I watched them make my drink and when I asked if it was soy they said it was and then I demanded them to remake my drink with soy and the blonde barista rolled her eyes at me! When I get into the bathroom it was sooo disgusting and filthy!!! I gagged when I walked into the bathroom, the smell just smacked me in the face and churned my stomache. One of my friends let them know they were out of napkins and that they were out of everything in the bathroom as well, and when she let them know they just ignored her and was acting like they didn’t even hear her!!! Rude service.

Despite the Prada boots sported by the baristas chatting in the back, which I did appreciate — this simply is not a decent representation of the chain. Poor service and even worse espresso –disappointing is my experience.
