Unilocalers, what? Yes, five stars, or, as, The Weekend would say, they ‘earned it’! Hayley(though busy with other patrons) immediately let me know she would be right with me. She was pleasant, efficiently took my order: wedge salad, Widow Maker Burg., OMDog! Salad was cold, crisp, perfectly dressed; burg. perfectly grilled rare(don’t judge.) Charlie, new Mgr. came over several times asking how everything was. Unilocalers, he listened, was über cordial, great smile, genuinely passionate @ his job. There’s a new positive, kewl vibe under Charlie’s direction; eat here, my Unilocalers. I saw many sumptuous plates soaring to customers’ tables, rich dips, huge onion rings, of course, tempting adult bevs. in an array of colors, frosty IPA’s/beers. Food is fresh & unbeatable value… delish kisses…

I don’t post very often but last night my wife and I stopped by here for their happy hour and our server, Alexis, was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Food was good and the service was exceptional. Thank you!

This place is really good! The last time my boyfriend and I went I had the roasted tri-tip and fried shrimp and my boyfriend had a burger. The food is good but the French fries were pretty salty. The time before that I ordered the Parmesan crusted chicken pasta and it was delicious. The bread they bring you while you’re waiting isn’t the best but it’s still good.

First visit I had a host named ALLISON and she was very awesome, Made me feel very welcome right away Good first impression Seated me with TORRIE and oh my one of the BEST servers I have had in San Diego. She paid complete attention to my order, checking on I needed a refill, getting my order to me ASAP, talked me into the Landry Select club which paid itself the next visit. TORRIE was super Have been back several times more since the 1st visit, I have asked for TORRIE each visit last visit I had KATHY and she was super awesome as well and so was my host EMILY And then the food Sirloin was very good but my absolute favorite is the Country Fried Steak very good, huge piece of meat and flavor is awesome. I will be back many times for this I will ask for TORRIE and KATHYTHEY are the main reason for my return YES customer service is that important

The wings are great. The full order wings. The menu is huge, really too big but the servings are big also. The bartender at this location is a rockstar. He has served me food and drink a few times and is always friendly and fast. He also busy but gets it done right.

I’ve been here a couple of times and never had an issue so this spot is A OK with me. I’ve always been a fan of Cj’s because the food is pretty good and the portions are huge. I’m a big a fan of their burgers I don’t know why but they are tasty and way better than In and Out. The service here is good but I come here for the food and not to mention the chocolate mother load 7 layer cake. I will be here again and again because I know what I’m getting, great food, good service and huge portions.

This place used to be one of my favorites to go to from the amazing steaks and the red velvet cupcake being amazing but this place is kinda going downhill the last time I came here the steak didn’t taste as good as it used also they always put glaze on the steaks now not on the side also the red velvet cupcake now has a extremely weird taste to it the service is friendly as always and maybe I’ll be back but not for a while

Seriously. The. Worst. Don’t know why I went back when I said I wouldn’t. Now it will be a very long time before I go back. Service was just terrible and even the food was sub par this time. Just bad!

You know those old places«Go To’s» for certain items. Well I’d been a while since our last visit to Grossmont Claim Jumper and was looking for 2 things ONLY! Shinner Bock beer and Rotisserie chicken. Before anyone says Shiners not on draft it’s the beer corporate uses as their beer for battered items. So USUALLY I could get a draft Shiner and«good» rotisserie chicken which NEITHER happen! First the manager said they no longer use shiner(I say hogwash!!) my daughter works at another location so I know what they use! Then when the chicken arrived it was WAY over cooked and dry, baked potato was also over cooked. Finally the General manager came over and replaced the whole meal apologizing. By this time we were done as our friends meal was also dried out and not right. They could have offered a little something clearly they could see I was upset! My observation is a lack of quality control, portions are much smaller but the prices are still higher. ANDTHEYSTILLCHARGEDUS! Think it’ll be a while before we go back if we do.

about 25 regular lunch specials on the menu, but only ONE that was beef … their specialty, supposedly. And that one item? Roasted tri-tip. It was tough! and not very tasty, because it was just over-cooked far too much. Acceptable at Denny’s for 7.95 but totally unacceptable for fifteen dollars at Claim Jumper lunch. The server, when asked about it, merely replied«Oh yeah, I guess I could have asked you how you wanted it done.» not even an apology. This used to be a pretty good restaurant, now it’s just a very expensive mediocre restaurant getting by on its former good reputation. Representative is the salty, greasy and doughy«cheese bread» that you’re given with the meal … without butter, by-the-way. Skip this place, and give Outback a try … at about half the price.

Decided to stop by for happy hour on Tuesday afternoon. There was no hostess at the front to greet the hand full of people that were waiting, so we decided to head straight to the bar, which I assumed was self seating. The bar/lounge was basically empty, so I tracked down a couple of male employees that were walking around to see if we should just seat ourselves. They were not very helpful, but they affirmed the area was all open for seating. Once greeted, we quickly gave our drink order, which was apparently forgotten because we were greeted again by another server. Although confused, we just repeated the order, which was executed pretty quickly. I decided to go with Ranger IPA, which is actually my favorite beer and I was excited they had it on draft. Either my taste buds were off or the wrong beer was poured because what I was drinking was certainly not my favorite beer. Anyway, on to the food… I had pulled pork tacos, which were surprisingly really good. Their happy hour menu has quite a few choices within different price brackets, so I think that everyone can find one or two items to satisfy them. The shoestring fries were also good, but I guess those would be pretty hard to mess up. The service we received was below par, which was disappointing. Check backs were rarely done, and overall service was relatively slow. Not sure if the server had tables in other sections or not, but that’s the overall impression I received. The best service we got was from a busser that heard my girlfriend accidentally break a glass at the end of our meal. He was quick to respond and even had a band-aid, which was really going above and beyond. Thanks man!

The produce bar was good. Fresh fruits and veggies. Grabbed a plate full and then had to ask for silverware. 10 mins., and an apology later, I could finally eat. Ordered a beer and got the wrong one. The right one came and half way thru a fly was swimming around in it. Instead of comping it they offered me another one. My meal was over why would I want another beer? I wanted to finish the one I was charged $ 5.50 for! The food looked way better in the menu. My kiddo was happy with her butter noodles, and they brought her a red velvet bundt for her birthday.

Other than the price, their food is good. I always get the Chicken Pot Pie and it is delicious every time. Also have good portions as well.

I came into the bar 8:40(bar closes 9:30)Sat directly at the bar. which was piled up w/dirty glasses. I asked if they were still open, for it didn’t appear that way. I was ignored and the poor guy doing inventory finally was able to help me. Grant it, 20 minutes later. This is my first visit. Horrible 1st impression, plus the place is dirty, the bar, menus, floors etc. .well… Food wise good prices for happy hour. The pretzel sticks were very gummy/rubbery. Make it hard to chew. They had a good flavor, I think they just nuked them too long. I complained to the busy guy and he was nice enough to bring me a couple soft ones. The Caesar salad was great and supprisinly the margarita was on point. Over all… not horrible experience. But it was dirty & felt like I was in an employee break room. I’d come back. I’m one for second chances.

Had been hearing about this brunch and finally tried it. It was delicious and worth every bit of the $ 17! They had tons of options. For breakfast they had pancakes, French toast, waffles, stuffed French toast, eggs Benedict, biscuits and sausage gravy, BBQ ribs, roast beef, turkey, omelette station, pastas, quiche and so much more!!! Plus if that wasn’t enough they had HDTVs everywhere to enjoy the football games!

My family used to come here on a regular basis, now we rarely ever come here. I’m not sure if it’s new management, new recipes or something funky in the air, but Claim Jumper’s(may be just this location) isn’t what it used to be. One thing that hasn’t changed about this place is the amount of food you get. You get a MASSIVE amount of food with your order. The portions on essentially everything are huge and you even have the option of adding their endless salad bar to your meal(of course I do cuz I’m a bottomless pit and a lard ass lol)! I’ve tried a wide array of food here from the Widow Maker Burger(see attached pic) to the Jambalaya to the prime rib. I must say that the Widow Maker Burger and prime rib were always my go to choices. I haven’t had the prime rib in a looooong time but on my most recent visit I ordered the Widow Maker Burger; nothing was the same(shout out to my boy Drake). Well I shouldn’t say nothing was the same since all the components of the burger were the same but it just didn’t taste the same. Idk mannn I was one sad fat boy. Maybe it was the salt from my tears that changed the flavor of the burger(srs no srs). The customer service here has gone downhill. It seems like all the employees are newly trained and have never worked in customer service before. It takes way to long for the food to get to the table, the food was most likely sitting in the back for a while since it comes out mildly warm rather than hot and you literally have to pay someone to get you a refill! It’s sad to say that I’ve experienced worse in a restaurant and thus I can’t justify a 1 star rating.

Came in on a Monday afternoon for their lunch special. Prices were decent compared to the regular prices when it’s not happy hour. Got seated right away which was great but our server wasn’t as attentive. Appreciated the complimentary bread they provided which was a plus but the food was okay as well. They came out with it in a time matter. Didn’t refill our waters when we were basically ready for a fill. The service could better if the people were more welcoming. It was a 50⁄50 experience.

This was my second time going to Claim Jumper & I had an even better experience! I ordered the roasted tri-tip it was DELICIOUS!!! :) I wish I remembered my server’s name but she was excellent! She was very friendly & genuine & was recommending different places I should go to because I just turned 21! Then when we finished eating, it was a pleasant surprise when she brought out a red velvet birthday cake! What a great way to end my visit! Can’t wait to come back again! I appreciate the wonderful service & quality food! :)

I did not jump any claims, but I do have a claim to file for this establishment… not worth it. There’s plenty of parking outside and I came in on mother’s day, so there’s more than enough room. I tried the mozzarella sticks and meat loaf with mash potatoes. The mozerella was really good. The exterior was buttery and crunchy. The cheese was rich and I enjoyed finding out how far I could make it stretch. From here it kinda goes downhill, the meatloaf and mash potatoes was $ 15.99. It comes with a salad or soup. The meatloaf was subpar which was the main attraction to the entrée and it wasn’t $ 16 good. The mashed potatoes and vegetabled were good. I recommend seasoning this plate up to make up for the lack of effort in this dish. Our server was very accommodating and the hosts were good about upgrading our reservation from 4 to 6 people. This resturant has big portions but I don’t think the quality is worth it. I feel like this is an over priced chiles resturant. And I wasn’t feeling the modernized railroad western theme. I don’t get it. :\
