First time we went it was alright. Food was standard and service was pretty good. The second time was less desirable. Went with a group of 4 and we must have waited 45 minutes for our phở and rice dishes. There was no one else in the restaurant either. Perhaps I will return and give it an updated score, but for now it remains at 3.

I’m sad to see this place go, and anyone who gives it 1 star for nitpick stuff is disappointing, and that’s putting it nicely. I don’t need recommendations for sub par Phở is others part of the East County this was a nice, unassuming place, and the lady who ran it was always nice which I can’t say about most phở places. Was it awesome? No. was it 1 star??? Far from it, and I would take decent phở with great customer service anyday. I can only hope they open up somewhere else. Being at the end of a strip mall never helped get them the business they deserved.

This place is the worst! I just moved into the neighborhood, and I though I could trust out on local Unilocal reviews, but, ouch! I was wrong. I love to phở, and I’ve gone to several amazing phở restaurants in San Diego such as: Top10, Phở Ca Dao, SAIGON, Com Tam, Phở on 5th Ave, Phở Saigon Star, and Minh Ky. I have even gone to the local La Mesa’s Phở Super Bowl. I hope this rating helps out new residential people like myself: Please be advised not to come to this place, there are way better options for phở restaurants in San Diego. If you’re looking for local phở, I would recommend Phở Super Bowl or Phở Ca Dao in Santee. The food at Delish Phở and Grill is pretty good… just okay compared to other phở places. I walked in recently on a Friday afternoon around 2:30ish, I was debating to eat thai food or phở at the plaza strip, I noticed the thai food, Bangkok, had an awesome lunch special for $ 7. However, I was craving vietnamese food. This decision was a big mistake and it left me feeling disappointed. I wanted a light lunch on the go, so I ordered thai tea with fresh spring rolls and egg rolls. I should of known it was a red flag when the place was all empty. The elder lady told me the total cost would be about $ 15.50.apparently thai tea cost $ 4.50, but the lady rounded it up, and thai tea with boba cost here $ 5.00…my thai tea had a lot of ice… what a rip off. Standard thai tea with boba should cost anywhere from 2.50−3.75 depending on where you go, more expensive ones, they add whip cream or make it to a smoothie. Either way… I still ordered, and I mention I was new to the place, and would like to try their food. The wait took 20 minutes to order fresh spring rolls and egg rolls. the service was incredibly slow. Keep in mind, I was the only one there. When I got home to try my food, the fresh spring rolls were good, however, the eggrolls were deeply fried I could barely taste the other ingredients inside. As a phở regular, this small meal was too expensive for what I can get somewhere else. I discovered 3 days later through my transactions that they decided to charge me $ 20.65 for my meal instead of $ 15.50. I am absolutely furious! There is not much I can do because I did not save my receipt. I suggest you all to save your receipt and keep it for a week. I am never coming to this place ever again!!! This place is sketchy to me. :-(

I don’t understand why this place is so empty at lunch time on a Friday. There were only 4 parties total in the entire place. I like the phở it’s tasty and delicious. Plus, I had the spring rolls and they were excellent too. You should try it out.

Not the greatest phở place I’ve been to. Lights off, grandma working in sweat pants, and fatty pork plate. Won’t be back here anytime soon

I came here 30 minutes after opening to get a Vietnamese sandwich to go and they said that they’re not ready. So I opted for the phở to dine in, which wasted my studying time. The phở came out right away since there is only one other customer in here. They are REALLY skimpy on the meat(especially for the price you’re paying)!! And the bean sprouts and basil aren’t as fresh as other places. But on the other hand, the owner is very nice. Edit: Just paid… What a freaking rip off!!! $ 10 without tip for a bowl of phở that was priced at 7.25 on the menu

Food was not all that great and they«don’t have bread for sandwitches» on the weekend. service was unimpressive. Table and nearby items were filthy. The place was nearly empty on a Saturday for lunch. All the lights were off which made it dark and gave it a «were closed» feeling. Server had same attitude, never checked on us after delivering food. Beef with rice Phở was full of fat, and the meatballs had a bunch of nasty fatty chunks in it. Spring rolls were ok. I won’t be back. And yes they do use MSG!

My most favorite Vietnamese restaurant that I have ever been to! I have been to several different restaurants around California, but I love this one the best. I have been here about 5 times so now I can honestly say they have amazing Phở and amazing spring rolls! They even serve Thai Tea, that is so delicious. I think the reason I love this so much is that it is very authentic and has the best flavors! Drop down to the tips section below and find my tip about this place! It’s a mom and pop place, and it amazes me that this place isn’t packed. I think they don’t go online and read their Unilocal reviews, or reach out to those people who put a negative review. I wouldn’t judge this place by the reviews alone, though because some people are rating it down because it’s «empty» inside or because they had to raise their prices a little, $ 8 for Vegetarian Phở isn’t that bad… but some think so. I think they got rated down because of service… I don’t see how? I have been there and had the most amazing experience with the service. The man and woman who own the place which I call Mom & Pop come out to check on us and greet us and they’re the owners. Maybe they could hire young cute Vietnamese girls who speak better English, and are easier to understand, to «improve» service for those who can’t understand their accents, but they are the sweetest people and will actually come out of their way to greet you if they recognize you and remember you from prior trips to their restaurant. I’ve had many great conversations with them. Compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants in La Mesa, this one has far better food. I thought other places were amazing, until I tried this place. I think because they’re not the type of older folk who are on the internet, I don’t think they do Unilocal well… I don’t think they know how to find these reviews to improve. Or, to offer deals to those who are dissatisfied. In some ways Unilocal can hurt a business. This place used to be a lot busier… I think people are reading Unilocal and deciding not to try it. Sad, because this place is struggling to stay open and that’s why they’ve had to raise their prices a bit, but it’s completely worth it if you taste their food… I hope they never close! :(

My review is based on just phở soup because I haven’t tried anything else from here. Is the food good? It’s okay. Is it worth the price? Nope. I got the rare flank and well done brisket phở and Vietnamese coffee. That alone was almost $ 13, and I did order the small sized bowl. The coffee was good. The phở was skimpy on the meat and noodles, I feel like I’ve gotten bigger portions for less money from other places. The broth was okay at best. Order your drinks here, go somewhere else for the food.

Friendly, family owned restaurant. Portions are small for the price. I am from East San Diego where there are a lot of cheap Vietnamese restaurants. This place is a little pricier. Probably because of the location and size of the restaurant My water cup stayed full. I never had to waive them down. The phở broth is super good. Not too salty and there’s a strong beef flavor. The vermicelli(bun) with their grilled beef is on point. The beef is so flavorful and tender. I just wish there was more of it. –1 for portion ratio to price But in the end it was very tasty. I’ll be back.

Phở is all about broth, depth of flavor, richness… Delish does a standard job with their broth and Phở, beef was spare and filling on a chicken sandwich we ordered was sparse as well… The owner/server was very kind and offered efficient service, prices are fair and ambiance was casual but clean. It did Hit the spot on the chilly evening we dined there but it won’t be a go-to phở café for me… So close to home that I’m bummed.

First time here, and I had the special combination #2. I honestly can’t remember what it had, but the basics you know veggies, noddles, and steak cuts. It was good, but I have had better sorry to say. I will probably give it another chance, and try one of their plate combos.

Enjoyed my first take out from here a few days ago and I wanted to taste the avocado smoothie and egg rolls. Excellent choices! The establishment is clean and quiet. The service is prompt and very friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great! Really appreciate good Vietnamese food especially in La Mesa:)

I live down the street from this place. It is at a end of the strip mall, where Souplantation is. We walked in and it was pretty empty. Maybe bc we decided to have soup on one of the hottest days in San Diego! Duh! The service was fast, I think an older couple owns it. The soup was good and so was the spring rolls. Would come back again…

This place was far better than some other Vietnamese places I have tried. The Phở was good, egg rolls were good too. I would go here before phở Super Bowl any day.

This is a pretty good Vietnamese restaurant. I stopped by for a quick bite after work and ordered their fried ground pork rolls and a grilled chicken Bahn Mi on a french roll for only $ 4.00. You get four homemade rolls with the order, and they arrived piping hot at of the fryer with some greens and some slightly sweet fish sauce( ). They had great color and had a very crispy exterior( ). The ground pork inside was tasty and the vegetables were good, and more importantly, it tasted great with the fish sauce( ). Great rolls. The Bahn Mi was good. I especially enjoyed the French bread. It was very crunchy on the outside and very moist inside. It was a great vessel for this Bahn Mi.( ) The grilled chicken inside, with its charred flavor, was good, but the bahn mi needed more of it, to be able to enjoy it, to its fullest.( ) Also, the greens and carrots were also quite limited. Still, it was a good sandwich, thanks to that magnificent bread. Great fried spring rolls, pleasant service, and not a bad bahn mi, but give me some more chick-an!

This is only the second time I have been here since they changed the name from V-grill and the food is much better than Superbowl Phở. I have read reviews about people complaining about how there is no music or how they are seated too close to people, but today we requested to choose our own booth away from people and it was no problem at all. There is also music playing today without my request. It is instrumental guitar and this is way better than having to listen to cheesy, not-so-good 90’s music at Superbowl Phở(Smash Mouth, Bare Naked Ladies, LFO, N*Sync, etc.). The old Asian woman is super sweet and they substitute rice for more veggies! The veggies are boiled so they are probably not super tasty for the average Joe, buuuuuut for those of us trying to get ripped this summer, the food is pretty clean here! I’m pretty upset that there isn’t a full length mirror, but the food is good, the service is good, and so are the prices. I’m still on a quest to find the best phở is La Mesa though! Send me a message if you know of any other places to try!

Forget this place. Just got home from grabbing take out, the steak i got was rancid, i spit it out. The broth was flavorless. The noodles were the only good part. Will NEVER go back. If you actually eat phở often, you will be really upset by what you receive here.
