McDonald’s

Don’t mean to gross anyone out but just to point out the facts: I was in this Walmart today (12-​31-​2015) sitting at the table near the soda machines when all of the sudden a roach came crawling out from the stainless steel counter area. I snapped a photo of it, then it disappeared for a few minutes when later it made it’s way to my table. I got up to smash it but It got away. I noticed that this place is disgustingly dirty and needs serious attention to cleanliness! Needless to say I won’t be dining here any longer.

I’m always telling people I don’t do fast food, but I have to say I’ve never had a bad experience at this McDonalds. In fact I’ve had a number of good experiences in the few times I’ve come in here. I probably only come in about once a year. I remember there used to be an employee that I was so impressed by because he was right on the table cleaning as soon as people would get up and leave and appeared to be busy busy busy the entire time I was there. I probably saw him 2 or 3 times. I went out of my way to compliment him to the manager.
Whenever I go to this location it’s usually because I’m shopping at Walmart or in Grossmont Center and either need a quick bite to tide me over or see someone eating an ice cream cone on a hot day and end up craving it. I haven’t gotten an ice cream cone for quite a long time but the last time I got one it was a chocolate dipped vanilla cone for only a dollar. You can’t beat that.
The employees at the counter have always been cheerful, but then I’m always cheerful to them also. On two or three occasions I have gotten the Ranch flavored chicken wrap for somewhere between a dollar fifty to two dollars and have been impressed with the quality of the chicken, considering it’s fast food.
One of my main objections to restaurants in general and fast food specifically is that the tables are frequently not clean. This one seems to be able to keep up with that. Another frequent problem is the items that are all cooked in the same oil frequently taste like each other so you end up with french fries that taste like apple turnovers and Apple turnovers that taste like onion rings. I’ve never noticed that being a problem here and I greatly appreciate it.
When I got a kid’s meal because I only wanted a small bite to eat and asked for a sweet tea as my drink, there was absolutely no problem. I didn’t have to get chocolate milk or soda or whatever normally came with the kid’s meal.
I don’t know what else I can say about this place except that it filled the bill the few times I have needed to come in here.

Okay let’s give the employees here a bit of a break. This place is located inside Walmart. So that means lots of business. They often run out of stuff. Or are closed altogether? But when they are open it’s what you expect. I like that they also have the dollar menu and other specials like the chicken nugget deal and 1.50 filet fish Friday. It’s McDonald’s people what do you expect? You cannot find cheaper eats at the mall!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went here this morning to get done food before work. The website states that they open at 0600. I get there around 0620 and the manager tells me they open in 8 minutes. So I sit there and wait until 0630 and he tells me that it is his first time opening so they won’t open until 0700! He must of seen the look on my face so he decided to take my order. I ordered 2 hashbrowns and he says it’s gonna be a whole because they have nothing ready. The dam. Oil was not even on. I was beyond pissed. He is a manager he is supposed to have the experience to open a restaurant on time. So not only did he waste my time I’m still hungry.

I was going to give this McDonalds which is located in Walmart one star but have given it two and will explain my reasons.
As I was in the grossmont center early and there were no food choices available due to the food court being closed we ended up eating here for an early lunch which happened to be a breakfast (heck my daughter had been up since 4.30am so no wonder she wanted lunch!)
The McDonalds itself is tiny, the place is on need of a major refurb and to be cleaned up quicker.
However, I was impressed with the member of staff who served us because she actually interacted with my daughter and even gave her a happy meal toy even though we had bought a breakfast not a happy meal.
However, my hash brown was definitely undercooked which wasn’t impressive and I didn’t have the energy to complain and request another one from them.
The thing with all McDonalds I find is that the food is never as good as you imagine it to be (this is probably most likely why I only crave it about once a year if that).

Went in during lunch hour and the girls were extremely rude they copped an attitude when I asked for ketchup and only would give me three I asked for more and they counted out three and said thats all I get I was buying lunch for me and my coworker then they started talking about me in spanish never going back there again I will go to jack in the box on jackson the lady that works there is way friendly and their food is better

Hard to call this a McDonald’s inside of WalMart. I think everyone in there was an unhappy employee. Dirty tables, slow service. Long line.
LOL at the hand written sign behind the counter «Our Goal Service in 60 seconds» Lucky for them, no was counting. I think they needed more help.
