Cold broth noodles — excellent However, we went to have korean BBQ… Thought it would be delicious because it was pricey… But to be honest, it was poor. Worse than all you can eat bbq… also the waitress didnt really help grilling the meat– so most of them got burnt. wont order bbq there ever again. But nengmyuns(cold broth noodle) are one of the best in town!

Told my self never come here again but since it’s been awhile I gave it another chance. Big mistake. Like everyone says unless your old Korean you get lousy service. Don’t come here unless your old Korean. Btw I’m Korean

Lunch with my bro after my haircut just across the way. Galbi — Korean short rib Yukejjang — Korean spicy beaf and vegetable soup w/glass noodles Great banchan side dishes. Great service. Excellent food. It’s a little pricier than most other places but you get authentic, full flavored Korean food that you don’t get at other places. This is a spot for people who want serious full flavored Korean food. Probably my favorite local Korean joint. Delicious.

I love this place! Everything was fresh and delish! Excellent Service! I loved the rib meat. Yummy. My son is a picky eater and he loved it also. I can tell they put great care into all their dishes. My son loved that you cancook your own food.

My Korean friend says this place gets a bad rap because the service isn’t that good if you aren’t Korean. Well DUH of course he wouldn’t have a problem with that for obvious reasons. But I can see why he would say that. If I hadn’t come with him, I probably would think the same, I don’t recall hearing any English being spoken by staff here. Either way, the food was pretty good. Had the spicy pork bulgogi and there certainly was a lot of pork, a lot of spice, and a lot of flavor. But what’s up with the pork still being on the bone? Fine otherwise, but I don’t know if I would’ve paid as much as I did if I had another option available. That said, I was bemused at how they didn’t let us order the lunch special because it was Labor Day(yeah, like these guys actually celebrate the holiday).

The salted pork ribs here are pretty yummy! I grew up eating this as a kid at family BBQ parties, so I was happy to see it being served at a restaurant. I definitely prefer it over the sauced kind. The cold noodles(neng myun) isn’t bad either. In fact, the two go well together. I’ve been twice so far and the food is pretty good. They have a good selection of banchans and are good about re-filling it if you can manage to get their attention. Definitely crowded, hectic, and you should be prepared to wait if you come during peak hours.

Yucky food ! Was in the area and didn’t want to go to Polly’s so went over to eat korean food. We had mul nan myun was horrible! The soup broth was not good at all ! Even the packaged noodle soup from the market tastes better! The spicy noodle(Bibim nan myung) was good though. Bugogi was tasteless and gross. Come on !! Bugogi is the basics, the 101 of korean food! How could they did it wrong ! This was probably the worst korean food I have had. Sorry. Not coming back 2 stars for the spicy noodle and service

Worst service. Good food but not worth sitting thru the bad service. Can someone please tell the owner to read the common theme of all the reviews. This place could do so much better with a revamp of all the front staff.

This place isn’t bad at all! This restaurant def gets a 1star for the outer appearance because it looks ghetto+scary=yikes. But once you get in, it’s just like any other Korean bbq places. They have all the meats you’d want from bulgogi to intestines. We all know though that Korean restaurants aren’t that fancy with customer service so having this in mind, service was pretty good! I’d go here again. Absolutely!

Keep coming back for the galbi and dong chi mi. However, every time, one of my dishes comes out ridiculously later than the first… Something the kitchen apparently needs to work on.

Honestly I’m pretty surprised to read all the negative reviews. They are understaffed at peak times, but the servers were quite literally running around trying to service all the tables. The servers managed to keep a smile on their faces and were very friendly and accommodating with refilling banchans despite the hectic setting. Meat quality was good and they had a good selection of tasty banchans.

The food is okay. The service is extremely rude. All the waitresses are rude. They slam food down and they ignore you. You have to ask multiple times for one thing in order for them to get it right. It wasn’t even busy when I came.

I do like their food… I do… I think their salted pork is quite yummy and I enjoy their donchimi gooksoo(cold noodle). Is it pricey? It certainly isn’t the best price items for what you get, but again, I like it. However, their service! Kote Dae Ji is always busy, which is a good thing because I like restaurants that get good traffic. However, if you are going to seat people at a communal table, would you please let us know? or give us option to wait instead of messing up the orders of customers that are waiting? Also, if you are going to squeeze different parties RIGHTNEXTTOANOTHER at the communal table… and they are bigger people that might rub against your arm, would you please at least«advise» us? It’s just rude! Also, they do not bring out food on time. Food does not come out in order and even though we check up on our food, we get a blank stare from most of the ladies… Not to mention, how stingy they were with the banchan, not bringing them out until later so that we won’t ask for it again… FAIL!

Short and sweet. Bad service if you’re not Korean. Or if your Korean friend has tattoos lol no seriously I deal with this all the time and today is the perfect elite example. Our order was taken in the rudest manner. Server gave us just 2 sides while everybody around us is getting their usual 5 or so. Table next to us full of Korean ahjahshis are getting their food already even though they were sat well after. No need to even comment on the food because its mediocre. Service makes the hugest difference trust me. Too bad I was gonna give 20% and all these fuckers are gonna give you a stiff 15%.

I do love this place and I do wish I can give more stars but come on Flower Pig, your service really sucks and really slow! We should not be waiting for 30 minutes for uncooked meat! I was there a handful of times but I can clearly remember waiting a long time for everything from a cup of water to banchan refill. As far as taste, everything is pretty decent, the galbi is really good(a bit on the sweeter side). Banchans are clean and a good number of side dishes. If you are in hurry definitely not a place to try but if you can spare a good amount of lunch or dinner time, totally recommend it.

How do you distinguish one Korean restaurant to the next? I mean they all look alike to me. They serve kimchee, bunch of side dishes, BBQ? Well, I’m going to tell you a secret; Most of the Korean restaurant have one or two dishes that are different from other K-eateries that brings in the Koreans to dine. Rest of the menus are there for you guys(j/k). Kote Dae Ji’s secret weapon is their grilled pork spare ribs. Its salt season bbq ribs. The salty seasoning bring out the inherent sweetness of the pork(Kote Dae Ji actually means Flower or honey pig — sweet suckling pig). The meat is extremely flavorful and I can guarantee that you won’t find this in the«all you can eat» K-BBQ menus. Pair that with some So-ju and you are Will Smith for the night. Food — 4 — 3 stars on what you order Service — Awesome for rich Korean business men not sure about the rest. Happy eating — R
