There’s no way to say«favorite» Resturant in Nola, but this one is in with the top group. There’s a more formal side(wear a jacket) and a casual side(bar area). Traditional and lovely place, amazing food, great service and a must do while in the Quarter.

Terrible dining experience. Servers untrained in basic table service etiquette, inappropriately reaching in front of you with armpit in your face to set table after you’ve been sat. Bread service was butter ramiken with no bread plate, crumbs everywhere. Charming? I think not. Bread was flavorless and no texture. Order was taken, drinks and first course appropriately served. From then on downhill. All members of our party of seven were served entrée, except for my wife, who had ordered a pork chop. We waited to start because the server told my wife it would be right out. After a few more minutes the waiter returned and said the kitchen told him they were out of pork chops. Now he finds out?! We eventually start to eat while my wife selects another entrée. The host of our party left the table to have a word with the waiter. What was said I don’ t know, although by then it would have taken enormous amounts of groveling to appease our displeasure. We are not hard people to please, but with the pompous attitude of the staff, the jacket requirement for men, and the difficulty of getting reservations, we expected an appropriate amount of attention to detail. My onion rings were stone cold from the moment they were served, duck was appropriately prepared, however, sauce was unremarkable. By the time my wife’s entrée arrived the rest of the table was finished eating and our plates had been cleared. The dining room was empty while she tried to enjoy her meal. The waiter apologized and said her meal would be comped. Really? That’s it for ruining the whole experience? Never saw a manager or any other person other than our server. All this along with the fact that 4 times during our meal a waiter would rap a utensils on a glass so to invite the entire room to sing Happy birthday. I imagine this being done at ChuckyCheese. I have to wrap this up as it is taking too long to enumerate the deficiencies of this restaurant. You’ve been warned. Tourist trap!
