Great food, ask for Steve he was our excellent waiter the other night so of course we had to come back. Karen had an excellent dish of red fish & I had a chicken club we shared a corn & crab soup the other night. Today we stopped by for a cup of soup for me & gumbo for Karen!

Great food, great environment, great service. If you’re in New Orleans and are looking for a great dinner right on Bourbon Street, this is a must. Also, ask for Shanell. She is phenomenal. Very welcoming and genuine. Definitely 5⁄5 stars.

We had high hopes based on the reviews and pictures we saw and I definitely lived up to our expectations. Amber, our waitress was very helpful with food selections and great at insuring we always had drinks and food in a timely manner. Now on to the food — so, so good. We had the Shrimp and Grits Napoleon, Cajun Stuffed Gulf Fish, Ya-Ya Chargrilled Oysters and the Jambalaya Pasta. Last but not least, we had the incredible bread pudding! Everything was outstanding. Special note — we went somewhat early for dinner, around 5:30 and were seated promptly on the second story balcony! Great view and atmosphere. Overall, we would highly recommend.

Right when arriving in New Orleans and checking into our hotel, we decided to go exploring. But in mid June it is hard to explore far when you get hit with that humid heat when you are a dried out Coloradan. So we popped into the first place that looked cool as we walked down Bourbon, Le Bayou. Enticed by a crowded dining area, air conditioned refuge, and the sweet smell of their Cajun food, we are glad we stopped in. We posted up at the bar and were greeted right away. The Unilocal deal for a free app was tempting but we weren’t hungry enough to dive into two entrees so we decided to have a couple drinks and see where things went. The service was great, two bartenders were very helpful, the one with the interesting dreads was especially friendly and gracious. We ordered the Shrimp Remoulade which was outstanding! We left very satisfied and glad we stopped in.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Other than the fried gator and the shrimp and grits, the food was sub par. The service was mediocre and our waiter split our check into 7 different checks instead of 2. Judging by the quick response from the manager, perhaps my party arrived on an off day for the restaurant. It is because the manager took the time to rectify the situation that makes me willing to give the restaurant another chance if I’m ever in New Orleans again.

I will admit that I’m partial to Le Bayou partially for sentimental reasons, but it is really good food for Bourbon Street nonetheless. We somehow befriended our waiter Willyum(yes Willyum not William) here five years ago, and to this day we are good friends. Aside from that heartwarming Bourbon Street story, Le Bayou is a very solid food selection in the Quarter. The raw oysters are a must(really anywhere in New Orleans though). The fried alligator appetizer tastes like chicken and is delicious. The boudin here is another New Orleans must of beef, pork, sausage, and rice all ground up together. Think of it as the Creole hotdog if you will. You can’t go wrong with any of the fried seafood platters either. Service has always been exceptional here. Over the years we’ve gotten lots of great food and bar recs from the staff here. Le Bayou is a refreshing no frills, good food spot on Bourbon Street. If you need some fried food to soak up the booze, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Stopped by LeBayou for a quick snack to relax a bit before starting the night run of bourbon, and absolutely loved the environment! Our server KELLY, was fabulous! I eat out a lot and wait tables and this is the type of employee every restaurant wants to have! Hard working, sweet, very talkative! Absolutely loved her! I recommend if you come eat here to ask for her! You won’t regret it!

Fantastic creole– expansive menu with something for everyone– we stayed at Ritz and JW and it is right around the corner. Ask for Kelly– best server ever. On the weekends the upstairs balcony is open for food service also. Stop by!

As someone who wasn’t enjoying the permanent vomit smell emanating from Bourbon Street, this place was a refreshing break. This place was a last ditch effort for my boyfriend and I to enjoy some traditional NOLA fare without much of a wait, but it turned out to be a good pick. The restaurant was clean, air conditioned, and did not smell like vomit. They did have a lovely balcony overlooking Bourbon Street, but it was full. The waitress was kind and checked on us just enough. I started with the Corn and Crab Bisque. It was lukewarm, but the flavors were awesome. There were juicy chunks of crab and a lovely hint of sweetness from the corn. I got my first ever Shrimp Po Boy. The batter on the shrimp was crunchy and the bread was so soft with just a crunch right on the outside. Perfect, every bite was great, I highly recommend it. I also ordered two Hurricanes. They were pricey, but I was expecting that. They weren’t inherently strong, but I wasn’t looking to get sloshed anyway. They did start to get packed shortly after we arrived(5ish), so I would suggest that time on a Sunday for dinner.

Started off with fried alligator, cooked perfectly… yum! Dinner was shrimp and grits w/fried green tomatoes. Absolutely the BEST meal I’ve had in a very long time!!! Added an order of Oysters… Ya Ya and Baked, definitely worth overeating :)

Loved this place ! We were able to sit on the balcony on bourbon street and it was a beautiful view and great food ! I ordered a fried crawfish salad(which isn’t on the menu) and my husband had oysters. If you decide to eat here definitely ask to sit on the balcony, it made the experience that much better ! The server was very friendly and engaging, I would definitely go back.

Oops! Dug into the BBQ shrimp appetizer before I took a pic. Mmmmm. Jumbalaya was great with shrimp creole. Quick, reasonable prices, great service(thanks Jersey Joe!). We’ll come back when we need a non fussy fix of fab food.

This was our last stop on our 2016 trip to Louisiana. The theme seemed to be waiting. A lot of waiting. At this point I was done waiting. We were originally going to go to ACME for the«best» oysters but I refused to wait in another ridiculous line. I was getting hangry and thank God we found Le Bayou. No wait, seated immediately, and the food came moments after we handed the waiter our menus. I ordered enough for three and had trouble finishing it all. You act irrationally when you’re hangry. I had a dozen oysters and a muffaletta. The muffaletta was huge, oily, and came with a side of fries. The oysters tasted much better than any«stand in a line for an hour or more oysters.» I left full with a to go box.

I was very unhappy with my meal. I wanted a fried green tomato po boy because I don’t eat meat, so after the waitress was rude about it, she brought me a slopped together fried green tomato, lettuce, and pickle sandwich, and charged me for the most expensive sandwich on the menu. When I asked why I was being charged for the most expensive sandwich, and not the least expensive sandwich, considering I didn’t get the meat, which is the thing that costs the most on a sandwich, she said because fried green tomatoes are very expensive… Um ok. In addition, the portions were tiny, the food was unimpressive, and the prices were ridiculously high.

This was a nice find for Burbon St. I expected less and got a little more. We sat a the oyster bar with a warm welcome by the staff. We didn’t even have to order oysters! We tried some of the classic New Orleans far: fried alligator, muffalata and some crawfish cakes. The food came out fast. We were able to use a Unilocal deal! We had a friend with us that we ended up putting on our check so we could use the offer. The staff didn’t mind moving things around so we could save a few bucks. Good for them!!! There are so many options that I’d probably try something different the next time but this was a decent find.

I was a little disappointed in this restaurant. We came in here wanting crawfish. We were told it wasn’t he prime season for crawfish but it was still available for us. We ordered a crawfish platter expecting the kind of thing that deserves a bib where you get a bucket of them in their shells. Instead, we received a bunch of pebble looking fried pieces with a side of French fries. Anything fried is pretty tasty to me, so it tasted fine, just not what I expected. The best part of this place was the waiter. He was very nice and knowledgable of the menu. Not sure I would return just for the fact there has to be better food in the area.

Oysters on the half shell — highly recommend! They are huge oysters and very fresh. Also sampled some shrimp ya ya appetizer mmmmm Fast and friendly waitress. Great classic music and laid back ambiance. We had a couple drinks at the bar and had a fun conversation with the bartender(can’t remember his name but he was from Decatur IL) This place was a great experience!
