This is truly a take out place so don’t expect to sit down and eat, also it’s cash only but this is a great place to grab a po boy, the menu is huge and the sandwiches are big you definitely get your money’s worth, I had the Philly cheesesteak po boy and it was great, the bread is fresh and soft and the sandwich was good, talked to some locals in there and they all agree that this is one of their favorite places to go

THANKYOU UnilocalFORHELPINGUSDRUNKIESGETSOMEAMAZINGEATS. Verti Marte is open late and without Unilocal directing me we would never have found you. The line can be a bit intimidating when ~under the influence~ but you can do it, you should do it and then you will feel so much better! We got an oyster po’boy(our first) and a chicken cutlet sandwich, and we were immediately in heaven. Awesome place, nice people, no judgement. Everyone needs to eat, might as well be something delicious!

Hands down to the best po’ boy sandwich I ever had! It’s loaded with shrimp and oyster. The serving is big, for $ 8.95 can be split between 2 people. Stayed in NOLA for 5 days to celebrate New Year. Went and try all the places that Unilocal recommended and by far Verti Marte did not disappoint. Came here 3 times during the course of our stay. It’s also conveniently located, cheap price for quality shrimp and oyster po’ boy, no long lines and its cash only! Hands down to the owner and thank you Unilocal for letting me find this good place while in NOLA!

Basically to go only place. Looks like a little corner store. Lots of different poboys to chose from. Handwritten menu board, big with lots of options. I’ve been here twice already and everything is delicious. I’ve been here before the night out and during my night out so yes Amazingly good. Funny story on my drive out of New Orleans I stopped here for a poboy to go. I ate half and saved the other half for my drive home and hours later stopped at a gas station to fill up. I paid for my gas inside leaving my tiny 8 lb dog in the car alone with my other half of my yummy goodness. It was tightly wrapped in the paper bag. I guess not tightly enough. I come out to find the bread up on my dash board and all the shrimp gone! I cried. I was So sad I couldn’t enjoy one more bite. I would later regret not eating the entire sandwich all at once! This will be my 1st stop next time I’m town! I’m hoping my family has another family reunion here soon.

All that Jazz was raved all over Unilocal so must try. Specialty sandwich with grilled ham turkey shrimp swiss and Amer cheese with French bread and«wow sauce» Nothing special. In fact, I’m not sure if it was this that caused me to have food poisoning:( Small market place convenience store. Cash only. ATM available.

My last review of 2015 seems to be a re-review because Unilocal deleted(with no message) my old review. Dirty Verti is a staple in the lower Quarters. It’s oddly set up(still is after the fire) and they really need to work on their customer service. Having said that, they have frickin’ awesome sammaches. Most of their pre-made food is a step above the stuff you will find in the frozen food aisle in the grocery(but not by a lot). What they really excel in(depending on who is working and how many Fuc&‘s they give) is their po boys. As a big time anti-vegamaterian, one of my favorite po boys is the mushroom mountain. It’s amazing(or at least it was until 2014). After 2014, I can not attest. They could make a few smart changes and be a really awesome place but general old school NOLA laziness does not allow them to try harder as long as they are still on the plus side of most people’s views. Oh, but if you need a bottle of booze and a poboy at 2 am and you live close, they will bring it to you. But please, the delivery people seriously would appreciate it if you would be dressed when they deliver. P. S. All but Gene. Gene would really prefer all people to be bottomless when he arrives. I Keeeed… maybe

Cash only! This is a small grocery store with a kitchen towards the back. The menu is on a chalkboard. Tip jar on counter. Some interesting drinks. Ordered the mushroom sandwich. Choice of hamburger bun or French roll. Chose the latter. Done in about 5 minutes. Check out at the front of the store. No place to sit so headed to the French market. When I

When you are a lazy slob laying on your comfortable bed at a swank hotel looking for great Po Boys and sandwiches delivered to your doorstep… Verti Marte is the place to hit up. From what I hear there is only standing room to eat. It wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t 50 degrees outside. All that jazz is a great sandwich that had a bit of everything. Shrimp, ham, cheese… The shrimp and oyster po boy had great seasoning. It will do the trick if you’re starving and tired of eating saucy creole food.
