I would like to give mickeys a good review but I can’t, especially since I showed up tonite at 8:37 pm. Mickey’s closes at 9 pm, so I felt like it wasn’t necessarily a problem. Man was I wrong, I went to pull open the door and saw the door was locked, so I proceeded to knock on the door to get the employees’ attention. I noticed they both looked up at me and started laughing. At first I felt embarrassed and angry thinking they knew who I was and just didn’t want to serve me but after reading the reviews, I understand that is the norm for the way they treat customers. Go to J’s hotdogs next door, the employees will treat you well and will stay open until the closing time.

My wife and I tried their steak burritos at the Psycho Silo Saloon. They have a roach coach setup there. I’m giving them a 3 for flavor, but at $ 8.50 a burrito the size is ridiculously small. BYNOMEANSARETHEYMASSIVE definitely false advertising there! Now as far as the flavor is concerned they are ok. I’ve had better but than again I’ve had worse.

Great meal, made to your liking. Owner made our meal, he has been doing this 15 years. Generous portion sizes! I had chicken burrito in a bowl. Would certainly come back. Sat outside under awning. Locals know this is the place to get a great burrito!

The food here is without a doubt 4 star quality. But everything else was a 1 star. My family and I came here for the first time expecting a great time we were wrong. The employees treat you like crap and stare at you while you try and figure out the menu. Never once was I welcomed offered help or heard thank you. One individual staff member was yelling in the back and then came out grabbed dirty trays and then slammed a door and then the trays in the back. There food is no where near massive. If you’re expecting a man vs food burrito portion don’t come here there«massive» burrito is no bigger then a taco bell XXL burrito. Final advice save your money and go to your local mexican restaurants. This place is an exact copy of chipotle

I was very happy with the burrito size. It was bigger than Chipotle, but this place definitely is an equal to Chipotle any day. $ 7.29 for a massive steak burrito.

The food at Mickey’s in and of itself is about 4 stars, but overall, two stars is pretty generous. First, forget the prices on the menu. Everything costs extra. Cheese? Extra. Sour cream? Extra. Pico? Extra. I’m not talking 35¢, these addons are over a dollar a piece. If you want a burrito for its natural price, prepare to be disappointed in your portions. Second, the customer treatment is horrible – nothing shy of embarrassing for both the establishment and to the customer. Every time without fail I’m treated like I’m a burden. I always order a burrito bowl which is easy; they don’t need to fire up the grill or do anything other than schlop the ready ingredients into the bowl. Well, the staff… no matter who it is… greets me with a «What do you need?» The owner rung me up a couple times. Never a «thank you» or «good night». Once, I got a pretty neat eye roll from an employee after thanking and tipping them. I thought it was me, but I’ve witnessed the same or worse treatment to the customers ahead or behind me. Rotten shame. The food is good… not immaculate… but good. But I’ve been treated poorly by these guys and the owner for the last time. I will not return until they’ve proven they have their act together. If you don’t like walking away feeling guilty or embarrassed for no reason, I advise you stay away from Mickey’s. Mr. J’s right next door isn’t great food, but the staff will treat you with dignity.

Like everyone else local, I know firsthand how ridiculously mismanaged this establishment is by the owner, HOWEVER the food is damn good people. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than people around here are used to, but that is because everything is made fresh daily and it is tasty! It is fresh and they use high quality ingredients. They do not use microwaves or frozen ingredients. The food is delicious and it’s the only place, and I mean the ONLY place outside of my own kitchen I can get a decent salad around here. If you love food with a zesty southwestern kick, and you have a big appetite, you have to try this place out. It can get very busy around lunch hour, with a line going all the way back to the door, but otherwise the service is fast. There will be an occasional disgruntled employee(see first sentence of this review) but just remember that the food is great and don’t sweat the small stuff. If a guy named Simon still works there, he is very professional and provides wonderful customer service, they should just hand over the keys to that guy. I recommend the massive ensalada with cilantro lime dressing.(The dressing is homemade and the nectar of the gods.)

If you want chipotle and you may just die if you can’t eat it but you have no means of transportation to get you an hour away to one… then I guess you should eat here.

The food is actually quite excellent. It is extremely similar to Chipotle. However, beware, you are«nickeled and dimed» for anything you add up to and including packaging if it is a carry out. Add sour cream, tack on $ 1.09, add an extra scoop of salsa, tack on almost another $ 1, adds up quick.

I would not say these are«massive» burritos, but they are very good! Mickey’s is rather reminiscent of a certain chain restaurant that makes burritos. The modern décor in a small old town is very cool. I take off a star for service. At 8:00 Saturday night(what self respecting burrito joint closes at 9?) there was one poor guy to take our large order and things backed up. He didn’t write anything down and the order was inevitably wrong. And by the time the order was done the first items we bought we cold. All in all, not a bad place. Very tasty food, served in a cool atmosphere.

MIckey Massive Burritos is a fantastic place for great fresh food. It is located in downtown La Salle in a cool and inviting building. The food was very satisfying! We recently had a party and had Mickey’s cater the event! It was awesome start to finish. They provided a great spread of enchiladas, tacos, their famous ensalada with lime vinaigrette(amazing)! Everyone at the party agreed how fun and delicious it was to have Mickey’s as the caterer. Highly recommend it.

This place has good food, but the service and organizational skills leave something to be desired. We place take-out orders every once in a while for my office, and they are usually wrong. They always seem short-staffed. And stressed. Portions tend to be smaller on «special deal» days too. Food is fresh and tasty– and a great change from most of the take-out options in Lasalle Peru.

I used to love this place but it is over. There is nothing but a small amount of steak or chicken along with a massive amount of rice. Delivery is a joke because it is always late and cold. The value is completely gone now. A $ 10 cold rice filled tortilla and they call it a burrito. It is a shame because it wasn’t always this way.

I’m not sure why everyone loves this place. A «massive» steak burrito consists of mostly rice & beans, with a little scoop of steak that’s usually cold from sitting in a bin for hours. The value is terrible. A taco is about $ 3, and a burrito will cost you almost $ 10 once they put what you want on it. The fried tacos aren’t bad, but you can find better at just about every bar in town. Fajitas is just a few blocks away, and the food is 100x better!

The great: A massive burrito(similar to Chipotle or Qdoba) and an ensalada which is best I’ve had anywhere. Always get the lime vinaigrette on your order! The not-so-great: Service. oh, the service. If you come during a time when the staff is filling delivery and pick-up orders, get ready for a very long wait. If you order delivery, you are guaranteed to have ATLEAST one item made incorrectly, and the delivery will be much later than the requested time. My coworkers and I have tried faxing in a written order and requesting delivery a full 30 minutes before our lunch break actually began – and we still didn’t get it right and on time! Avoid lunch and dinner-time hours, or go on a weekend and you will have a great(and filling) meal.

On recommendations from Unilocal we gave it a try on our way home from Chicago. The restaurant is not far from I-39 … maybe 10 minutes at the most? I ordered the massive nachos with ground beef and my husband ordered the enchilada plate. The place was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. If you stray from the burrito or salads it seems to take a little longer for your order. Still not overly long. Food was pretty good — really hit the spot. Servings were«massive» as described! I could definitely see us coming back again the next time we are driving to/from Chicago.

As massive as advertised. Great tasting burritos made fast. I’ve eaten plenty of Chipotle, and I gotta say Mickey’s taste better. A great little hidden gem in this little hidden town. I’ll be back again whenever I make it back to La Salle.
