Just recently sold some of my husbands coin collection here. They are the sweetest people! Such amazing customer service. They were honest and gave me what the coins were worth and took so much time looking at each coin to make sure I got what was fair. They even helped me sort the ones out that were better off spending and the ones I should save and give to my babies one day. Very happy with my experience here.

I have been going to Coin Depot since I was about 6 years old with my Dad. I was a member of the Bid Board for 23 years. I still have a nice 1883-O Morgan Dollar that I won during one of the Bid Board drawings. One of the most charming parts about the old Coin Depot was walking into the store, and asking Don for a particular coin. I remember asking him for some uncirculated steel and war year wheat pennies. Amid the piles of coins on the counters and stacked haphazardly on the shelves, he reached for a couple of tubes and produced the coins I needed for my collection. I was glad to hear that the Coin Depot reopened, and have been participating more recently in the Bid Board. Unfortunately, the Bid Board closed on December 5, 2015 after over forty years. I am grateful to have had this place as my «childhood coin store.» Now Coin Depot has a Buy Board, where sellers can consign their coins. It is my hope that the Coin Depot can continue to exist and thrive with this new Buy Board system. Thank you for the memories, Coin Depot!

Nice little spot. Very friendly, knowledgeable and patient staff. Went out of their way to answer all of my questions. Even pointed me to a few other shops when they didn’t have what I was looking for(Saxon Talers). Very nice bid board. Pay a one time $ 5 fee start fee and you can sell or bid on the board. I think they charge a small fee for the bid cards and they take, I think a 15% fee for the sales price of the coin. Not positive about that, but I’m pretty sure that’s what the guy said. They have a few other trinkets/antiques at the shop as well. Only thing I would like to have seen more of were coins for direct sale, not on the bid board. Most of their good stuff is US, but the bid board did have some medieval/ancient coins. Best thing going for this place in my opinion are the people working there. I’m glad they finally reopened it. I will definitely return. Add a bigger selection for dir3ct buy and some older world coins and it would be 10 stars.

This was my first time visiting Coin Depot after seeing that it had good reviews and it was pretty close to home. I am a beginner coin collector and I have to say that it was definitely worth a visit. The staff was very knowledgeable on the of the pretty much worthless coins I brought.:) They also helped me set up a set up a bidder number for $ 5 lifetime. I was also shown how to manage the bid board. This is a place I would definitely visit again when I am in not such a rush.

Absolutely positive experience. Had a number of coins to sell and the staff was very professional, polite and expedient. All the values offered were honest and fair. I could not be more pleased. The store also has a tremendous selection.

I was encouraged to contact C.D. by the great reviews but my experience was poor. I will keep the details private but there is no way I would ever do business with this shop. I called with a very specific and easy question and got the most ridiculous answer I have heard in a long time. I was able to get a good answer from another coin shop without a problem. I therefore don’t recommend this shop.

My first experience here was lovely. Everyone who worked here was willing to help and incredibly friendly. They had plenty of great coins and collectibles for avid collectors. They also had boxes of random coins that went for 6 coins for a dollar for the novice collector. It’s a great shop and I can’t wait to return to build my collection.

This store is great. It was the very first coin shop I ever walked into, always great advice from Don Hauser. If not for that man, I may have never enjoyed collecting as much as I do right now. Patience, knowledge, professionalism, he had it! I even miss the cat that used to walk around the store, sort of. He was truly a gem. Thanks Don & Coin Depot for happy memories of my first time collecting. Rest In Peace Don.

I went to Cion Depot to check some antiques with my friends today. We were treated very kindly by all of the employees there. Dennis was the one who helped me try all the antique jewelries, he gave honest ideas of his about the authenticity of the jewelries I was interested in. And finally I bid a nice gemstone ring for my mom. I will return to look up other items soon.

COINDEPOT under new ownership. It’s been almost a year and a half since Coin Depot closed its doors due to the death of its owner Don. Now, with the estate has been settled COINDEPOT is upgrading the shop and will reopen including the famous Bid Board back in full operation. Really happy to see the COINDEPOT tradition continue!

The Coin depot is open again. One of the guys bought the place and a redo is going on inside. They are open and getting the bid board, and displays ready.

Despite the loss of the owner, his ethical and kind approach to doing business is still there. I just spoke with someone else who works there via telephone and he gave me a whole lesson on why NY gold prices vary so much compared to other parts of the world and advised that if it were him, he would hold off a day or two if I didn’t need the money this minute. No guarantees were made of course, but he treated me like a family member. I can’t even get other gold buyers to quote me a price on the phone, let alone tell me how they got to that price. I will go back to this place as long as they are in business, and hope it will be a long time.

IT is with sad regret that the long time owner Don. H has passed away a few weeks back. I was lucky enogh to have meet him ONLYONEWEEKBEFOREHEPASSEDAWAY. He was a great man to have known and was very helpful like many people have said prior to his passing. The store is still open and they are working out the kinks on how to operate every thing smootly again.
