This place is somewhat overrated so best to save your money and go to a place with a better atmosphere, more seating, more privacy but if you do go, make sure you order the Führer sandwich. It’s a specialty of the owners.

Delicious meat! Great catering, great lunch menu, great meat all around. Very helpful in choosing something to eat and how to prepare it. Makes great catering trays for a party. All around great place to shop. Tritip sandwhich is juicy and flavorful, pulled pork is similarly so.

While wandering around La Verne, my son’s town, I came upon The Corner Butcher Shop. It looked like a fun possibility for treating my meat loving son to dinner. It was and will be again on my next visit.

The pulled pork sandwich is wonderful! BUT Don’t order a salad from a bbq place. Lesson learned. Tri tip was good as well but I got a good amount of soggy dark lettuce.

Excellent tri tip plates and sandwiches! The deli has great options to bring home. Varying wood chips available for smoking meats. Fantastic side dishes as well. A few tables are available to eat there.

Amazing sandwiched. Got a tri-tip sandwich and a brisket sandwich to share with the girlfriend. Both were amazing. A ton of meat in each sandwich. It’s a meat lover’s dream come true. The meats were cooked well and seemed to melt in your mouth. The sides are slightly small but very delicious also. I can’t want to go back for more sandwiches. They are a great meat shop also. Their meats are very fresh and Hugh quality but this review is about their amazing sandwiches. I’m glad I discovered this place.

Pulled pork was flavorful even without bbq sauce. Husband liked the tri-tip and spicy sausage too. Wish they’d expand and have a full restaurant someday instead of just a few tables in a small eating area by the meat counter(kinda like LA farmer’s market setup but fully indoors). Speaking of meat counter… bought a couple of sausages, hotdogs and bavon. I’ve only cooked the bacon so far and it was fantastic! Definitely not your typical vacuum packed supermarket bacon. Looking forward to going back.

I ordered a turkey(for Thanksgiving Day) from The Corner Butcher Shop for the very first time. I was really scared and worried that it might not taste right or it might be too dry. Boy, was I wrong! All my guests absolutely loved it and wanted more. For the first time, I had no leftovers. The comments from my guests: «Damn, that’s one sexy bird». «This is the juiciest turkey I’ve ever had». «oh my god, I can’t get enough, can I have more.» Thank you for making our Thanksgiving Day a very memorable one.

Where to start. The place looks clean, at least in the customer area and the meat cases. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and ate them there. The food took awhile which was odd since we were the only ones there. We expected that since it took so long it was being made fresh. I think we were wrong. Food came out at barely room temp. Now, I don’t know about you but I expect pulled pork to be hot. My wife’s brisket sandwich wasn’t hot either. She ordered mac n cheese as a side and it was cold too. It tasted OK but didn’t have much BBQ sauce. The bread on both sandwiches definitely tasted like it was made yesterday. For the price, there is just no value. I don’t mind spending $ 10 on a sandwich like that but not here. $ 5 would have been more like it. On a side note, I woke up that night at 1:30 am and spent the next 2+ hours in the bathroom. I guess that the pulled pork was afraid of the dark and wanted out. YMMV but I won’t be going back.

I come from a family that loves meat and boy did I have a hankering and craving for some. Drove out to this place where they bragged about having the ‘Biggest Weiners’(sadly didn’t try them, maybe next time). Ordered the brisket sandwich and while waiting we regaled in the selection of cheeses meats and wines they had to offer(which was very ecclectic, feeling for some alligator or rabbit?), prided itself in being a local and small business where they had a lot of thank you notes and pictures from the community. I love that kind of stuff. Let’s get down to the details we all came for and that’s the food. The bun looked homebaked and reminded me of Carl’s Jr’s highly bragged about baked buns, but the meat, literally, holy cow. No cheese, maybe just their BBQ sauce(which is fantastic even when I ate only ¼th of the sandwich with it.) Just pure unadulterated brisket and that softness and ease of chewing made me eat that thing fast. I get stringy meat stuck in between my teeth because of how my braces have set my chompers, but this meat allowed for a nice soft tender and solid bite. No juices, but who cares? Its not a huge requirement to excellent meat. Its a dry rub work of art that totally highlighted the quality of that beef that boasted skill and high-grade straight from the pasture. My craving was satiated, but I have a feeling that I’ll have a very specific craving in the future thanks to the quality work this place does.

Excellent meat market, it’s too bad there aren’t more around like this. Every cut and meat you want and always willing to educate you on it. I got a smoked turkey from them this year, perfect!

Just ate dinner here with my mom for the first time and it definitely won’t be the last. The service was excellent and the food was mouthwatering. The employees and the environment made us feel right at home. They excelled my expectations as far as food and service. I recommend this place for everyone to try! We shared the combo plate with tri tip & ribs served with potato salad and baked beans. We also, got a pulled pork sandwich to share. I highly recommend trying all of these menu items at some point. However, if I had to rank them in order it would be the tri tip, pulled pork, then ribs. Their bbq sauce is the best I’ve ever tried and I absolutely love how they have grass fed meat as well as work with several local companies.

Adventures in dining in La Verne can be difficult, especially after having been spoiled by the exotic cuisines of Los Angeles and Orange County. Yet, food adventures await and Corner Butcher Shop was up to bat. Lovely setup once you walk in, neatly displayed and cozy. Friendly and accommodating staff, overall a nice wholesome feeling when you enter the doors. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich with a macaroni salad. For starters the macaroni salad looks as good as it tastes, it was superb, delicious, makes my mouth water while I’m thinking about it. It nearly stole the show! I truly wish I got more. The tri-tip, seasoned wonderfully, cooked very well, you can taste the smoky flavor. It was pre-cooked and needed to be re-heated which is a bit downer, but understandable. Yet it was obvious that it didn’t have that fresh off the grill taste to it. I do have to say it was a bit pricy considering the sandwich was a little small for my liking. Yet, for good tri-tip that should be overlooked. Definitely will be back and definitely recommend.

The ONLY question to ask yourself is: «WHYDIDNT I COMEHEREANYSOONER ???» The people, food, and atmosphere is great! It’s also a meat and cheese deli but they carry all sorts of sweets and desserts! Seriously they sell chocolate covered bacon people !!! They also sell local beers which is cool if you want to try something new. And I LOVE their huge family wooden farm table !!!

Lunch with my wife here at The Corner Butcher is not at all that bad. Despite not having the traditional set up of a restaurant, it allows itself to be unique. It has jams, bwef jerkys, hot sauce and other delicatessen products on retail shelves. The true stars of their place is their meats. They are on display for the customer as they order at the register. As I waited for our tritip plate and 2 sides of potato salad and bbq beans, I parked my rear end on an empty table where the wines sat. They did not charge me for my order and the gentleman told me to grab a drink inside their frigidaire of drinks and goodies. For my first time here a feeling of awkwardness came all over me. I’m the usual extrovert but I played more of the observer inside this place of business eatery. The parking is decent and wide. The surrounding businesses all share the lot. The price of their food is not overwhelming to the average lunch goer or any person that is on their lunch break. My wallet definitely could hold its own here. I give them 5 stars because their food is juat too damn good and oh so delicious. The ambiance is something I can deal with especially when the environment and people are friendly.

Awesome little spot that I never knew existed until a friend from Pasadena Unilocaled it and suggested we eat somewhere in my area for once. I ordered the tri tip salad, which was delicious. The meat, which was generous in portion, was tender and perfectly cooked. My friend ordered a tri tip sandwich and had the most amazing potato chips I’ve ever tasted to accompany his sandwich. I can’t wait to try this place again, hopefully sooner rather than later. Make sure you check in on Unilocal as they have some pretty cool specials if you reach a creation number of checkins.

Had this place bookmarked on my Unilocal for a while and was finally in the area. So decided to stop by here(around 2:15 pm) this past Saturday. It wasn’t crowded at all and approached the glass case to look at the different types of meat. I only had two people ahead of me, one young male who was already ordering and an elderly lady who ended up seeing an old friend and chatting while in line. Since the younger man had already been helped, I just stepped in front of the elderly woman(she had been chatting for a while so I didn’t purposely cut her in line. she truly was just in the zone of catching up with 2 friends… so why should I wait for her to finish?). Anyways, I was waiting in front of the display case and there was a male employee who had his back towards me, cutting up some type of meat. I was almost directly behind him. Anyways, he turns around to the side and sees the this elderly gentleman(his wife was chatting away with the elderly woman who was originally in front of me) and asked if he needed help. He said no and I just turned around and looked at him. He just kind of gave me this odd look like I don’t know why that guy asked if I needed help because I am not even in line kind of a thing .Then the male employee turned back around and went on back to cutting the meat… By this time, I was pretty peeved… and really did consider walking out of there but decided to get something since I was already here. So I got the male employee’s attention and told him this was my first time coming here and asked if there were other types of meat he sells besides the ones in the glass case. He asked me what type of meat I was looking for and also referred me to freezer for poultry, ground bison and rabbit. I decided to get the rabbit just because I was interested in trying it($ 12.99 a pound! I ended up getting 2.6 pounds which came out to $ 33.77). I also ended up getting 13⁄8 pound of smoked brisket as well. — — — — — — — — — — — — – Total damage of everything cost me $ 49.05(price either includes tax or they do not charge tax). The smoked brisket was dry and DISAPPOINTING! You would think a place that sells meat and serves cooked meat would do a good job making brisket… especially at such a HIGH price point. I had to doctor up the meat to make it taste better. Truly a waste of money, you are better off going to a barbecue restaurant for some good brisket. I cooked the rabbit this evening(I made a rabbit curry in case you were wondering) and it tasted like chicken(honestly I am not sure what I was expecting it to taste like, so that surprised me). Rabbit doesn’t have a decent size amount of meat and is quite pricey. Overall, this place is a total let down(thus the 1 star rating). I spend nearly $ 50 for meat where I had lousy customer service and really should have walked out when I was first ignored. Removing this from my bookmarks for sure. By the way, this place is located in a plaza with Panera Bread with plenty of parking.
