1st omaha Unilocal elite event! I recently went to the very first official Unilocal Event for Omaha and though I was a wee bit late I loved every moment of it! Since I moved to Omaha I have been waiting for the day where they would be blessed with an awesome community manager and they finally have one, Will S. I loved this event because I had never been to the Lucky Bucket brewery, it was a great experience trying the finger foods and checking out a pretty great brewery near my humble abode. The food provided was delicious, the crowd was pleasant, and the meeting new people were great! I’m definitely looking forward to partaking in another great Elite event that hopefully will happen again soon!

First official Unilocal Elite Event was ridiculously great. BTW, the fact that I can make that statement about an event that a) features a brewery that’s not on my Top 10 list and b) features food from an establishment that I’ve been less than kind to, says ALOT. So, why am I rating it the full 5? Because 1) Will organized an awesome event, 2) loved meeting some new folks who are also obsessed with food(this from an introvert who tries super-hard to fake like an extrovert), 3) beer/spirits options were good and forced me to reconsider my opinion of LB, 4) rounders were tasty, thus forcing me to reconsider my opinion of Locolmotive and 5) appreciated incorporating a bit of learning(about LB and Locolmotive) with the social event.

Honestly I’m reluctant to review an Elite event at all, but considering it’s the first I have to give a shout out to Will and kudos to all that showed up to make it the great time it was! My reluctance comes from the fact that when I’m looking for awesome Unilocal-inspired local flavor in other cities, I’m oftentimes inundated with old Elite events. Not that it’s a bad thing that these things are clearly awesome… Anyway, here’s no chance I wouldn’t give this 5 stars for any number of reasons… 1. Well planned & hosted by Will(bravo!) 2. Good company. 3. Most fun I’ve had on a Tuesday in a while. 4. Free Lucky Bucket beer & spirits. 5. Rounders! (Finally, I’ll throw out the suggestion for some excuse to mingle more. The past events we’ve thrown together have been such small groups we were forced to meet each-other but this was a little different. I kept feeling like I should meet everyone, but didn’t want to be intrusive — which is hard to gauge after alcohol sampling). Looking forward to the next event(s)!

Omaha’s first Elite event! Yeah I jumped for joy inside at the invite, no lie, and this event did not disappoint. The venue was great, Lucky Bucket Brewing Company, it was overall everything I hoped it would be, which is of course good food, good drinks, good people. Checking in and getting a free Unilocal themed shot glass and koosie was just a nice bonus. Will S did a great job I thought for the first Elite event, I’m so excited to go to the next one. The personalized tour was cool, and getting to taste rounders for the first time ever was a treat. Apparently I’ve been missing out, geez where have I been… oh yeah… bellevue. The guyo one was my favorite, along with the bite that had a bit of apricot on it. Yum! The best beer of the night for me was the«beyond the pail», I don’t know how to describe it other than right up my alley. Tasting the rum and vodka was a nice touch too. Bad on me, should’ve tried to meet more Unilocal’ers I didn’t previously know, I like the suggestion of an ice breaker some others suggested in their reviews… although I have no good ideas for one that makes meeting complete strangers any less awkward :/? Overall, loved it! Thanks for letting us bring a +1 it was nice to have some emotional support for my love of food for the night

Great event with good people and delicious complimentary food and beer. The event was planned well and the turn out was great. I hope there are many more events to come.

Such a fun event at the brewery! I have been meaning to go to the brewery for a while now and I am so happy I finally was able to go. Will, you did a great job organizing the event and I really liked the buttons and other Unilocal décor. I do like the idea of some sort of ice breaker to help facilitate conversation but I think also we’re a social bunch and have no trouble chatting it up! The food and drinks were delicious! I am excited to be able to share my experiences with the brewery and encourage others to go but also to try other variations. For the food truck-I can’t wait to get more food! The sandwiches, rounders, etc were so, so yummy! Thanks Will and other Unilocalers for a fun night out!

Planned well. The venue was nice… I’d probably never go on my own so it was nice to get me out of my comfort zone. In the future, I hope that there are some ice breaker activities… or some fun Unilocaling activities… yeaaa… I’m cheesy so I like ice breakers. When we fist walked in– it seemed as though people were conversing with people they already know… this is fine and dandy but sometimes people need to be prompted to mingle! As far as fun Unilocaling activities… I’d have to pick my brain to think of something! Maybe fun little trinkets to get people excited to keep reviewing… who has the most«cool» or «useful» votes— most post, most check-ins… just a friendly competition. Maybe even a game— Which restaurant in Nebraska was the first breakfast spot, or which restaurant is known for their homemade blue cheese… could be a bingo game or trivia… uggh— I’m not that creative… but something like that would be SUPER fun— IMO! Once I decided to go mingle— it was super fun and meet very interesting and nice people! But I’d still like some activities! And it was exciting to meet Will S finally!
