The food is consistently good and the wait staff has always been friendly. However, it’s time for a few areas to be renovated(torn booth seats, visible leaking ceiling spots).

My husband and I went here for lunch and we both order beef fajitas for two($ 19.99)each. When it was bought out was enough for«one person» for the price was charged for 2. We both had tea and side order cheese dip total price was under $ 50.00. The sad part was the food was suck but cheese dip was good.

This place is horrible! The«ground beef» tasted like hormel canned chili! The enchiladas are smothered in cheese and some other mess. The beef enchiladas had more of the hormel mystery meat on it. So gross! The taco salad was basic with crap toppings. Nothing about this place was good. The building smells like its smoked in at night or something. Glad I won’t be back.

As usual the food is excellent as is the service, but this time around, i had to use the ladies room. It was not what i would expect to find in a restaurant we just dropped $ 80 for 2 people. The restroom was more like one you expect to find in a convenience store. When i came out, i looked around a bit more. There are rips in the seats and severely scuffed tables and the walls and woodwork themselves are in disrepair. I used to think of this as my splurge place but now i think there are restaurants that charge less, but look much nicer.

Even though I pass by here all the time– today was my first visit. I had heard food sickness rumors from several people– so that’s why I have put off trying it. The food was ok: Fajita Nachos & Beef Fajitas for one, along with Frozen Margaritas. Presentation wise– the food looked good– and was enjoyable, good flavor, the portions are small I thought. The ritas were good and only $ 4. I wasn’t crazy about the salsa– just kind of bland to me. Chips were thin, crispy and good. This is an old Applebee’s– so it’s an open floor plan– I don’t think much remodeling was done, it still felt like Applebee’s to me, minus the clutter. I would recommend it, but I personally won’t go again. Casa Olé is better to me, and Que Pasa is way better than any other place in LC– especially for ritas and fajitas. Kate was our server– she was ok, but seemed a little spaced-out to me. Nothing spectacular about her service– just the bare basics.

Great service great food, great build from the old applebees. The burritos are awesome but you must try the stuffed filet. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is good for steak, mexican, or short order. Great price drinks also. Also the sampler will be a good appetizer choice.

I’m glad somebody tried to break out of the Mexican food style that Casa Mañana burned into the cuisine of Lake Charles, but this place doesn’t really fix it. Too much emphasis on being quirky and creative, and not enough focus on food that actually tastes good. Mexican cuisine is good. Louisiana cuisine is good. There’s no need to fuse them. Still, points for bravery. Loads of misses on that menu, but a few hits that would have never existed had they not tried.

During a trip from New Orleans to Houston, my wife and had dinner at Coyote Blues on Sunday, Nov 16, 2014. Service was good but the food was mediocre and came to the table cold. There are better choices in the area.

I LOVETHISPLACE. Me and my husband paid a visit not too long ago and I have to say, their service is AMAZING. Our waiter was constantly checking up on us and refilling our salsa and chips. I had ordered some kind of burrito(not sure what) and when I was about to take the first bite I noticed the filling was beef and not chicken(which I thought I had ordered) it was my own silly mistake but I told the waiter about my issue and he gladly had the chef make me a new burrito with chicken filling for no extra charge. Now THAT is what I call good service!

The salsa was the only memorable thing at this restaurant. I’m literally left speechless and soulless. No matter what you added to the salsa, it made everything tasteless. Sweet tea, Tabasco, quesadilla, your humanity… All disappeared as if the salsa itself was a black hole. I no longer care… No will to live … To love… To die… Food was ok though. Meh…

Nice Tex-Mex restaurant. Not a place for kids. They don’t take reservations so make sure you get there before 6:30 if you want to have a pleasant dinner. Chips and dip are great. Try the fajitas!

Good food. Good atmosphere. A tad bit overpriced for Tex Mex cuisine in my opinion. With that said, these folks know how to make Fajitas. They have the best in town. If you do not mind dropping $ 25 or so, try the Bandito Ribeye. It is fantastic.

Edit: We actually went back to the restaurant last night and were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. We never had a dry glass the entire time. The food was delivered very quickly, as was our appetizer. The waitstaff were very nice this time around. I am changing my review to five stars at this point, due to the increase in overall service. Once again, you have to try this restaurant! They listen and make things better. Original Review There is a reason this restaurant has won awards. This is some of the best food I’ve tasted and entire Lake Charles area. They beat out all of the other Hispanic style restaurants hands down. The food is always amazing, the chips and salsa are always good, and we have never been disappointed during our multiple visits. The waiters and waitresses could be more friendly, and if they were they would get better tips. The food normally doesn’t take all that long to come out, but the waitstaff are not all that quick in general. There are times I’ve had more hospitality and a Taco Bell. But, the food more than makes up for the lack of service. This is one restaurant that must be tried even if you’re just passing through the area.

My experience can be summed up in one word: Average. Nothing about this place particularly stood out except for the salsa(one of the only redeeming qualities). I do not recommend the queso. Our order had a very gross thick unmelted layer on the the top, and was not tasty. The enchiladas were also unappetizing, and my friend ate less than a third of her meal because it wasn’t tasty. The steak fajitas were not so bad, so if you absolutely have to go to this restaurant, the fajitas seem to be a safe choice. The service was pretty bad. We weren’t even given menus. We had to borrow our neighbor’s menu. The waitress was inattentive and occasionally rude. Bottom Line, I would pass on this restaurant.

Good place if you are going to drink. They have a decent bar with good drink specials. The food is so-so. Margaritas are good for the price and they have some unique flavored you won’t find at other bars around this area.
