I’ve lived here three years and can’t believe I’ve never tried this place until now. This a one of the best and most authentic teriyaki places I’ve ever been to and I’ve had teriyaki in Tokyo. To those reviewers who complained about waiting for their food, I believe it’s worth it’s wait. The place is staffed by one woman who makes every meal from scratch. The meals are fantastic. I had the chicken teriyaki with gyoza and my wife had the chicken teriyaki with vegetable tempura. Both were excellent. The chicken was grilled to perfection and the teriyaki sauce is the best I’ve ever had. I leave the country for 3 years in a couple days and I will be back before I go.

My favorite restaurant. Food takes a minute to prepare, but it’s whisper quiet in the place and you can actually follow along with the woman behind the curtain cooking, just by sound. It’s simply fantastic and the whole experience feels like a labor of love.

So glad I stumbled upon this gem! Was heading home from Fred Meyer and figured I’d pop in and grab something to go. The woman working the counter was incredibly sweet and helpful. To my surprise, after taking my order she jumped on the grill to whip it up. The kitchen is semi-open and you can see the grill from the front — seeing she was using a grill instead of a flat top was a HUGE plus. Food took about 10 – 15 min, which I was honestly pretty impressed by — comparable to places that don’t use grills/legit cooking methods. The food. OH the food. I got teriyaki chicken and veggie tempura. The chicken was delicious, char grilled with the best teriyaki sauce I’ve ever had. Not spicy but had much more flavor than the super sweet stuff you find at a lot of teriyaki joints. Tempura was fried perfectly and included green beans — yay! I have genuinely no complaints. I will most definitely be back soon.

Came here during lunch. I started getting nervous when I only had 15 minutes left of my lunch break. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. The food was ok, a little on the salty side. I will try it again since they were very friendly. I asked for a to go menu so I can call next time and was told they didn’t have any. Then the lady told me to take a picture of the menu board which I thought was kinda weird.

I stopped in on my lunch break at work, and ordered vegetable fried rice with no egg. The lady who took my order was very friendly and offered extra vegetables since I wasn’t having egg. She made the meal herself, and it was delicious! Very fast and friendly service. If I work in the area again, I will totally stop back in.

Took 45 minutes from the second the order was placed to get my food. 45 minutes. Four — Five. I gave it 3 stars because it was pretty good and the woman was very apologetic about the wait.

Awesome food. Service was a tad slow, but you know foods cooked to order. The lady was very nice and have me extra sauce and rice as it was the end of the night. I now call ahead before to avoid the wait. Please try this place out!

I dislike giving bad reviews to places that are friendly, which they were. But this was bad. The place was VERY dirty. As I ate, no one else was here. Still, tables, including the one I used were clearly dirty. As in really dirty. Typically I love dive bars and very casual so my standards are not high. Pretty sure the soy sauce bottle hadn’t been wiped off since the Bush administration. The first one lol. Not to mention the stains on the wall. People I am no prude. I’m absurdly casual. But this was in a different league. The food was sloooow to get to me. Read 15 min for teriyaki chicken. And it was virtually empty when walked in and ordered. Sometimes this is ok when the food is magnificent. Then you know why it took do long. But the food, which sadly is mentioned last, was mediocre and kinda cold. I won’t be back. Sorry.

This place has delicious food made on order by the sweetest Japanese Grandma. I’m sure she doesn’t think I ate enough food, because I just ate veggies and rice. Service is super slow, don’t be in a hurry. Hungry kids will need something to distract them. But it’s worth the wait and the sweet grams who runs it will make you feel like you ate a home cooked Japanese meal. Definitely worth a try.

The food is always worth the wait. She cooks it to order. It was busy this time, so she brought us some Gyoza and bottled water while we waited for our to go order. Very hospitable!

Best teriyaki hands down! I have eaten at probably 30 teriyaki restaurants in two counties and this is by far the best. I don’t know what to say except this ruined teriyaki restaurants for me. If you’ve eaten teriyaki at multiple restaurants, you’ve probably noticed they’re all pretty good, except this one. It’s amazing! I don’t like going to other teriyaki places anymore because I know how good it could be. Other places just don’t compare. Yes, it takes a bit to get your food but that’s because she doesn’t cook or cut anything until you place your order. I will gladly wait for something this delicious instead of being in and out for something that’s just ok. If you are impatient and don’t want the best teriyaki you’ve ever had then go somewhere else. If you want the best then give it a try. The owner is very friendly and happens to be the chef too!

Flabbergasted that they have 4.5 stars to be honest. During lunch hour on Thursday, they had no sushi and no udon available. Tables aren’t all that clean. The yakisoba was okay, on the sweet side with the sauce, but decent portion size.

The food here is great. It seems like one lady is running everything which makes things kind of slow. It gives you more time to spend with your guests.

While talking with the nice lady owner who is mentioned in many of the reviews here, she was implying that business is not good especially during the dinner hours. When I’m in town, I will usually go in and order take-out during the dinner«rush»(or when you’d think it would be one of the busiest times of the day) and usually there is nobody dining inside. When I walk in, she is usually just sitting in the back just waiting for customers so it appears her take-out business is not that brisk either. In fact, once when going in to order take-out around 6:30 pm, she actually told me that I was the first customer since the lunch rush and wondered where everybody was …or what was going on «out there» that nobody was coming in. With all the good reviews here and being in a bustling strip mall, you’d think that she would have more business than she does. I for one will make it a point to stop in and do my part in giving her some business whenever I’m in town. I hope everybody else will remember to stop in more often too as I’d sure hate for her to have to close down. Not only is the food good but I don’t think such a nice lady deserves to lose money and have to go out of business especially when the reviews here on Unilocal and other sites on the net are so good.

Had the yakisoba noodles with Teriaki chicken. Excellent. Others in our party had Teriaki chicken and rice. The restaurant as dated, but the food is what your after. We took it is take out and ate in a small park adjacent to the restaurant. Very generous portions. Easy access from I-5. In the Fred Meyer strip mall.

Seriously, you should go here. And go often. She makes such quality and delicious food. Absolutely everything is good, not too greasy, or salty, perfect flavor, I honestly don’t think other teriyaki can measure up to hers. I love her Yakisoba, gyoza, and everything else that I have tried. And her prices are great. She is wonderful too, she is a small business that deserves to have more people know about her. So go, take friends, spread the word around.

Oh man, I came in here looking for sushi. She didn’t have any, but I should know better with a tiny teriyaki place, on a wednesday at 8pm! I got the soba instead. Oh man, was it so good, and I got a giant plateful. It hit just the right spot, I don’t mind that she didn’t have any sushi… She made it all herself, I was the only person there so it took about 10 minutes. Will definitely come back again when I’m needing some really GOOD quality food! Just be sure to call ahead!

very friendly service. it took awhile to get our food. not very busy at noon for lunch. but it was worth the wait as I enjoyed my spicy chicken teriyaki. there’s no public restroom here so take care of business before or after. very tasty and spicy teriyaki.

Favorite teriyaki place in the area, hands down. The lady who owns it is such a sweet heart. I would certainly recommend calling ahead though, because she is the only person working(ever?) it can take awhile for her to cook everything up – which is a good sign, in my mind. It means it wasn’t frozen. Totally worth it and much better than Happy Teriyaki around the corner.
