This place is horrible. The old owner is back and info is slowly leaking forward. We bought a puppy, 3 weeks later it had a severe seizure and had to be put down, we called, told them what happened, brought veterinary proof that it was a hereditary issue. Per the original contract we were supposed to be reimbursed, the new owner (who recently left) made a contract with us to reimburse us, we didn’t receive payment on time, and had to call to ask for payment. Two payments were made to us and then we called a few days ago to ask for this month’s payment only to find that the new owner had left and turned it back over to Connie Woodward, who now refuses to pay us back even though it was her original contract that guaranteed the puppy’s health or reimbursement if it was sick, etc. I have been digging and found that this is not the first issue with her or this store. I was also informed that she knowingly buys puppies from puppy mills in Puyallup and Tacoma. The owners of the one in Puyallup are said to be named Dennis and Ida. The informant also said that the puppies are purchased for $ 50-​$ 100 then sold for $ 700-​$ 800.

I love this store since they went under new management. I have a bearded dragon and they always have roaches and worms to feed him. The staff is very knowledgeable and can answer most questions. I am going to be coming here from now on and will be recommending this place to my friends. Give it a try, it’s not the place it used to be.

Sarah Bee’s (Ryan in particular) was recommended to me after a bad cat grooming experience in town. I got a big welcome to Olympia/​Lacey as I just moved here, from Neil at the front desk and was able to talk personally with the head groomer Ryan. He was very attentive in getting to know about my cat and reassured me that what I was fearful about would not happen in this shop. I came back to pick up Bobby and got a full report on how his grooming session went. Praise praise and more praise. I will be a regular.

Puppy mill and animal abuse !!! Do not buy from here please !!! This place needs to be shut down

Do not shop for puppies and kittens. This place supports irresponsible practices and should be boycotted. There are many puppies and kittens available from rescue organizations. Rescues are often a fraction of the cost of these puppies. Search on Unilocal for a rescue organization! Try Facebook too.

As an animal rescuer, I’ve been cleaning up after breeders for years and it is a slap in the face to drive by their sign listing what type of puppies they have for sale. Yesterday was the last straw when I saw they were selling Chi-​Weenies for $ 549. I have three rescued Chi-​Weenies that were never adopted out because there are just too many! I went into the store and saw that the puppies are in metal, livestock, water troughs and they were freezing and had no heat source. I was told that they don’t come from puppy mills, the breeders just don’t want anyone at their homes. Huh, wonder why? This place just stinks. Literally and figuratively. If you are looking for a puppy, please go to a shelter or rescue where you will pay a fraction of the price and the veterinary costs are included. It’s time to ban retail pet sales. We did it in Phoenix, we can do it here.

I LOVE this place. I travel from Tacoma, WA to get my Shih Tzu groomed here because they are the BEST and extremely friendly and helpful. I never have any issues here. This place deserves 5+ stars and I will continue giving them my business. Thank u guys for outstanding service!

I love this place. I don’t like dogs or cats AT ALL, but i do love to look at them from a distance when they are babies. Yeah yeah, i have no soul. Save it. Don’t care!
I come here to get feeder rats for my animal of choice– snakes. Love them! I have two ball python’s and they are the best pet’s ever. For someone looking for a low maintenance pet that is cheap, easy to take care of, doesn’t bark, smell, pee on things, poop in the house, chew on things, leave hair all over your house, bite, scratch, jump on you, and that you can leave alone and play with when you want to– this is your animal! They have great prices on the feeders, best in town. And if your snake wont eat the rat, that’s fine, bring it back! They will give you a credit until your snake decides he wants to eat. I’ve had to come back 3 times so far, and will attempt my 4^th in a few weeks. The people are personable and make an effort to get to know you and you can tell they have a true love for all animals.
Paw’s and claws has a good selection, and they have the equipment to go with them. If they don’t have something then ASK! They will get it for you. I personally love supporting my local economy vs shopping at big chain name brand stores. So that’s one reason i come here. Everyone is REALLY helpful and very nice! Their prices on some things are better than name brand stores, and sometimes they are a little more. But a buck more isn’t a big deal for me if it is going to a local store. It definitely smells like animals when you walk in, but do you really expect anything different? Pet smell, pet store… kind of hand in hand if you ask me, and its a small store (which is great for a personable setting) it doesn’t have state of the art ventilation systems. Would i let a baby crawl on the floor? No. But i wouldn’t do that anyway in an animal infested environment… it isn’t safe. So comparing this place to the pet co down the road isn’t exactly fair. I wouldn’t put a baby on that floor either.

We bought our puppy, here November of 2013, and have been very pleased with him. He is a Chiweenie. He has been in excellent health, very loving and wonderful. I found this to be a wonderful pet store, with lots of small dogs for sale. It was really fun to go and pick out a pet. They have the puppies all in little play pens, with wood chips under them. It was fun to look at all the different dogs and get a feel for their personalities. I found the owner and the employees very nice and helpful and informative as this was my first puppy I have ever picked out. They even gave him a bath before we left. I called afterword for some advice and they were very helpful. I would highly recommend them.

I just took my dog here to get groomed for the first time and the experience was great. I will definitely be coming back! My dog was cut exactly how I asked, she was not pulled or roughly handled, and I did not have to wait four or five hours to go pick her up. This place is amazing for grooming and was also able to get me in the same day I called.

I’ve come here a few times either alone or with my husband. We’ve been interested in finding a new puppy or kitten, however, the prices they have for half breed’s seem pretty steep. I mean, I have a purebred AKC championed Chow Chow and I paid a decent price but I know the blood lines and have seen the parents and have seen the full registration of my dog, as well as have received the health reports from the veterinarian who checked him over since he was a puppy. Every time I stopped at their store or looked at the website, it’s full of half and half breed dogs that they want a premium price for. I’m also not a fan of the cleanliness of this pet store. I can totally understand that they allow animals around their store, but it just seems dirty. And $ 65 for pet grooming? I’d rather groom my pets on their own. I’ve read so many reviews on and off Unilocal that just make me feel uneasy about this place.
