BLK Burgrz

Great place! They have a very nice bar! Huge patio with TV and heaters! Their burgers are the bomb! This place is a gem! Will definitely come back. Great experience.

We live in Ladera Ranch and had seen BLK Burger but never been. We had read some not so great reviews but saw a Groupon for it so we decided to try it. We had the Ahi Tower which was great and the kids had pizzas which were also good. The best part about the visit was the service. I didn’t get the young man’s name but the receipt said Joe C. Amazing waiter that made it a great experience. I’m coming back for the Kobe Steak Skewers which look amazing.

The burgers were great. Service was just ok. Unfortunately Ladera Ranch people do not go out to eat very much and it shows. This place is usually not busy.

Didnt even eat here yet just moved to Ladera Ranch and came in to see if they were hiring for servers and the lady I spoke to said to me «Um actually we are overstaffed on male servers right now and are only looking for female servers» That wasn’t discrimination or anything. Not interested in eating here now if that’s the way you to respond to someone coming in looking for a job. Been better off being told that they wernt hiring than getting that answer.

I have tried this place time and time again. The food is less than impressive and overpriced. Unfortunate, as they have a great outdoor set up. Their craft beer list is great and service is average. I want badly to like this place but they disappoint every time.

Love this place. We come in at least twice per week. The staff is the best! The food is amazing. Atmosphere is relaxing — fire pits, a tree lit up on the patio, décor is comfortable (outdoor seating especially the couches), and the bar is where you feel at home and make new friends. We always have a great time!
Tonight we are having the jalapeño Mac & Cheese, buffalo chicken tenders (happy hour menu), and an ice cold IPA from the tap. Mac & Cheese is soooo cheesy and the buffalo tenders are a perfect snack.
Other favorites are the steak skewers, edamame, flat bread, meatloaf, salmon, Mac & cheese burger, and above all the NY steak; so much flavor and seriously our favorite. For sides, the bacon green beans are amazing and the brown rice is so tasty.
If we want to go out for a date night, BLK is our destination. If we want drinks, BLK is our destination. If we want a tasty meal, BLK is our destination.

Not cheap, and our service got off to a slow start, but the food is excellent. I had stuffed cheddar and bacon burger, which was delicious. My wife had chicken Apple salad and loved it.

Horrible place. Just ate there for the second time. I asked for the burger to be slightly pink inside and it was completely over cooked and dried out. Needed a chain saw to get into it. I complained to the manager, showing him how over cooked it was and he said «sorry. It’s probably so dark because we marinate our beef.» No, wrong. Your cooked left it on the grill for about an hour. Which by the way, was about how long it took to get anything around this place.
Do sit down and expect your drink order to arrive for at least 20 min! Then you’ll wait about the same amount of time for anything that you ask for… sauces, your check, etc.
I could have handled this place if the food was amazing and the service was bad… but when both food and service are horrible??? How are they still in business?

My friend and I went for lunch and had a lovely time! Service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Also, the selection of beer was great to go along with the food. The location is easily found and it is a nice spot in Ladera.

Really friendly waiters, the food is very tasty. My husband and I sat in the outside patio during sunset and it was really beautiful. Don’t forget to try the cookie dessert it is scrumptious!!!

Really good burgers. Awesome outside patio. Nice selection of beers. Crazy selection of burgers and the sides are good. Service is a little spotty but they are always friendly.

Wow! Great experience! This was our first time trying this place and we were impressed. Every food item we tried was delicious (ahi salad, sliders, mac & cheese, veggie rice, chicken sandwich). Great beer & wine too. The main reason why I am taking the time to write this review is because of the amazing customer service we received from Maria the hostess. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. She was so sweet to our kids and even offered to hold my baby so I could finish eating. So amazingly sweet of her. It’s always a little stressful taking all three kids out to eat but she made us feel welcome and comfortable. We can’t wait to go back soon. Thank you so much, Maria!

Hmmm $ 30 for a burger and beer made my poor college student’s wallet cry a little bit. Tried ordering the works burger but the waiter asked if I was sure because apparently it’s HUGE! Definitely wanna try it someday … When I have a job :)
They have a unique selection of beer, quite a few fruity ones. The beer my friend and I got was $ 8 a pint. Burgers range beginning from $ 17+. I ordered a lamb burger which was cooked well done (idk how I felt about that).
You get chips with your order which I liked! They season it with I don’t know what but it was good and not just your typical kettle potato chips. Your burger comes with a side: French fries, sweet potato fries, salad, soup, I can’t remember the other ones?
I was surprised they didn’t charge extra for sweet potato! That’s a definite plus since I’m a huge sweet potato fries fan.
Wish we sat outdoors because it becomes so beautiful at night! They light up this huge fire and can you imagine eating burger and drinking beer while sitting next to a fireplace? Now that’s a vision.
Indoors, there is a bar and a high seating area which is sort of intimate and dark. Everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful when you need help deciding what burger to get.
I couldn’t finish my meal, so I guess they do give you a good amount for what you pay. Fries, burger, chips, and beer. I couldn’t take it all in. BLK: 1 Hannah: 0

Unbelievably good burgers!
I never would have thought a burger joint would be my «wherever you want to go, Honey» place for me. This place is off the hook. From the main courses to the fries to the ambiance… just 10 out of 10.
I have had this a few times in 2015. Cannot wait to go back.

Had a great night here with my beautiful wife and out kids celebrating Valentines Day. Salmon was delicious and Rotisserie Chicken was great. A must try if you come is the Edamame appetizer. Best we have ever had!

BLK has upped their customer service game, and the hubs and I had a wonderful experience here a few days ago.
The food was good and the service was exceptional!

First time coming here and will be our last. Service was HORRIBLE. Our server took forever to come to us, take our drinks and then 30 mins took our order and took another 45 mins for our food to come and it wasn’t even busy.
Honestly the food wasn’t even that great. Ahi stacks was horrible and the combination for the Swiss burger wasn’t good either
We read the comments before coming here and definitely, definitely regret trying this place out. People were comparing it to Slaters 5050 and I would rather have their tasteless meat than the burgers here.
What a WASTE of money.

The burgers here are no joke. We’ve been a few times and have had the mac n cheese burger, jalapeño burger, and the works burger. The works is ridiculous. Probably the biggest burger I’ve ever seen! We had to take it apart to eat it. The jalapeño burger is my favorite. It is SO GOOD.
Sweet potato fries are great, too. You get one side with the burger, though it’s tough to finish the side is you’re eating an entire burger yourself. The brushfire drink is an excellent choice and they have a great selection of specialty whiskey cocktails.
Ambiance is great. Inside is small, but there are tvs that typically have sports on, and cool vintage inspired birdcage lighting and décor. The outside has a huge patio with a big firepit, tvs, heat lamps, and lots of tables.
Given the other reviews here, it’s clear that service is the problem. The issue here is not with food at all. I’ve never had any bad food here. For $ 18 a burger, you’ve got to expect that the food will be high quality as well as service. We’ve had slow service and issues with simple things like making sure we have napkins and utensils on the table and water glasses full. When I’ve asked for these things, they’ve been promptly brought out to us.
I hope service does improve as that is something that can easily be fixed in my opinion.

I normally enjoy this place and put up with any human error that might occur. The location and the food is really good. But after being a faithful customer and putting up with anything and spending a lot of money there, I was really upset couple of weeks ago.
Showed up around 5:45 PM and the patio was pretty empty except for 4 of the tables. When asked to be seated outdoor, we were told there was an hour wait. There was no other people there… how was this even possible? Who were they going to sit on the patio in the next hour and have people leave? I didn’t see any «reserved» signs up either. They had enough staff and I told them that I wasn’t going to sit inside and they didn’t seem to care at all and we left. No explanation about why they couldn’t sit us. The only thing that we noticed was that all the families with kids were being seated inside and none outside. Coincidence? Maybe… We know that few of the Ladera moms tend to let their kids roam the patio and not seem to care what their kids are doing but the rest of us shouldn’t have to suffer for this. Put your foot down and tell them to control their kids or to leave.
Have not been back since that incidence and we used to take friends there on a weekly bases.

A neighborhood gem!
I am changing my review from a 4 to a 5, because every time I dine at BLK, I have a great experience. My experience last night was enjoyable. We sat on the patio with our two small dogs around 6:15 and by 6:30, the entire restaurant, inside and out, was packed.
Cody has served us before, and now hes the new general manager, and you can tell that the restaurant is running more smoothly because of him. He was very hands-​on with helping the hostess seat people, and going by the tables to check on guests.
Brian was our waiter, and he was extremely attentive, even on a busy Friday night. He made sure we never had an empty drink and checked on us several times throughout the evening.
The food at BLK is always good. I usually have the ahi tuna stack or edamame appetizer and have a burger or a steak salad. The Moscow Mules are really good here, and my hubby always gets an old-​fashioned, which he loves. They also have some great beers on tap and some nice wines as well.
If you are looking for a relaxing ambiance, good food, and great cocktails, BLK is your spot!
