Union Bank & Trust

I stopped by this branch (7349 Ladysmith Rd. Ruther Glen, VA) to get info about there services and I was impressed in how polite and professional this young lady was, when I decided to go in to open an account it was completely the opposite. My wife and I were approached by a different lady; rude, unprofessional and NOT friendly at all, that after a few minutes of dealing with her we walked away and went to a different bank.

The customer service is seriously lacking in this bank. I have been in to open a business account twice now. The first time the woman told me I didn’t have the documents needed to open an account and then informed me which documents I needed. I have since received those documents and returned today only to have another woman tell me there were other documents needed. The second woman I sat down with and she never introduced herself nor asked for my or my partners names.
Maybe it’s just me but I have always made my customers feel welcome and invited when talking to them. Both women I spoke with seemed dry unwelcoming and above talking to me.
I will go to another bank. I am already doing business with Wells Fargo, usaa, and navy federal. I was just planning to use Union because they are close to home. There loss.

The people who work for this bank are exceptionally friendly and are as efficient as the resources the bank gives them. The positive and negative is that they still operate as a local bank. The online banking and mobile banking leave a lot to be desired and they aren’t there just yet when it comes to serving today’s client.
I moved my banking to another bank about two years ago because I could make deposits on my iPhone and a long list of other mobile/​online functions. I’ve been waiting for Union Bank to catch up and they aren’t even close.
Last week I made a deposit of an insurance check and it took a little over 10 minutes to get through the line and then another 15 minutes for the clerk to process the check, only to find out that they had to put a 7 Business day hold on it because of the amount. That’s 25 minutes to process the check and then 12 days before I can have access to it, since I deposited it on a Friday. Almost two weeks to get access to money that comes from a national insurance company.
My other bank allows me to make the same size deposit from my phone, from anywhere in less than 90 seconds and I have access to some of the check immediately and the rest within 48 hours.
If you’re looking for home-​town, personable customer service than this really is a great bank.
If you’re looking for someone who is meeting the needs of today’s consumer, you’ll unfortunately need to look elsewhere. The trade-​off? My experience is that the the technically astute banks have horrible customer service. Luckily, I rarely need to talk to the bank to make a financial transaction.
