I gave 2 stars for the price, but I guess you get what you pay for. I contacted AVI to install new home construction surround sound in the living room, run two speaker wires to the patio, run a HDMI cable through the walls, and asked for them to run ethernet to every room and tv location. Running the HDMI cable was the only thing they didn’t mess up. For the surround sound they left the cables way too short to work with. For the patio speakers I noticed they only ran one speaker wire and spliced it into 2 up in the attic. And they didn’t even bother with running ethernet to every room. They used flimsy single gang outlets for running all the wires, so I’ve already had one get pushed back into the wall. They should have used at least a double gang outlet for where all the wires were coming out to the media center. So, to wrap it up, I wouldn’t recommend AVI for home installations unless if you’re on a really low budget. After walking through their store, I also wouldn’t recommend buying their overpriced equipment, unless you have money to throw away.

I purchased an internet enabled HDTV and Blu-Ray player from them right after Thanksgiving 2010. I chose AVI over a box store such as Sam’s or Best Buy mainly to support a local business. It was agreed during the sale that AVI would run any cabling required to connect my LUS Fiber internet service to the television. However, when delivery day came, the installers claimed they didn’t know anything about it and«don’t you have wireless?» They were able to connect the Blu-Ray player to my wireless network, but they just couldn’t get the HDTV to connect. They even called in their networking guru. All they accomplished was knocking out my wireless network altogether. When they left, nothing was connected. I had to reset my router and reinstall it and reconfigure all of my wireless devices including the Blu-Ray player. In reading the manual, I found the reason the HDTV would not connect was that a wireless LAN adapter(sold separately) was required. Fortunately, Best Buy sells those. Basically, all AVI did was deliver the HDTV and program my remote to turn it on. Very disappointing.
