Cigar Merchant

A nice little humidor shop in the Petroleum Club area of Lafayette.
They offer a selection of Davidoffs, as well as other high end cigars.
They don’t really sell cigarettes, they only sell the super fancy ones.
The clerk was helpful, and attentive.
They offer a number of lockers here that you can lock up your cigars and smoke them there at your leisure. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the air conditioning where you can kick back and enjoy your cigar.

This is a cool little shop. I stopped in while on a business trip to Lafayette and picked up a few cigars. They have a pretty decent selection, so not so easy to find items and the prices on the ones I got were good.
The only knocks Ive got are that they close kinda early 6:00 on weekdays, so I didnt have time to stay and burn one and that probably 20−25% of the cigars in the humidor were not priced. Not any huge deal. Ill be back to see them next time Im in town.
Also, customer service was great.

Young man who helped me, knew his stuff. I always ask what cigars have been added to their selection in the last month. Then I ask for «attributes». Description was based on experience, not something read in that crap magazine Aficionado. One of the better looking cigar lounges I’ve been too. Rental lockers, plenty of seating.
It’s a shame though. Wherever I travel, I always find the closest cigar shop or lounge. When the regular customers treat visitors like intruders, it can kill future business, let alone is a slap in the face to the owner. I understand from my wife who grew up in this town that it can be a cultural «thing», but that is just crap. I’m polite, not loud, overbearing, arrogant, or intrusive. There simply is no excuse for the snobbish attitude I saw each of the three days I popped in here. I won’t reflect that in the shop rating. They may have no idea.
Good selection, kept right temp and humidity. Recommended for selection and service.
