The rolls I tried were great and the service was even better! I cannot wait to go back, I haven’t felt so welcome in I don’t know how long.

I enjoyed the sushi, I’m from the SF Bay area so I know good sushi and this was great. The other reviews are right with regards to the service being top notch. In a heart beat I would come back and I wish I was staying longer so I could try more rolls! The Josh roll was my favorite out of the 3 we enjoyed. They do not offer wine or beer but your encouraged to bring your own!

10 stars!!! Ginger is the best. She raises the bar for what service would be. She makes you feel as if you’re In her home. Tends to the kids, and has great hospitality. The food. The food speaks for itself! Best fried rice, noodles and sushi! My youngest daughter doesn’t care for sushi, but she will eat it at Fuji! The atmosphere is a simple dining area. Very cozy and personal. We love this place!

Hands down some of the freshest and best sushi in Lafayette. It’s a very small place but the food is on point. They have some very good rolls but I usually get the love boat which has a lot of sashimi. Damn I’m making myself hungry again.

I’ve had sushi in every sushi restaurant in Lafayette and all over Houston. I was skeptical when a friend told me this was better than any sushi he had in his years in Japan. He was right. The quality, flavors and composition of the sushi here is the best I’ve ever had. It’s a quaint little spot with humble decorations and a home-like atmosphere. Very casual. Alcohol is not sold there, but you can bring any alcohol you like for a small cork fee. The rolls have very little rice. Each roll is stuffed-full and topped with fresh fish. We received a complementary bowl of miso soup to start and a fresh orange to finish. I will be back.

Very nice staff. No license to sell beer or sake, but next door is a beer store. Allowed to bring a couple bottles over and I cannot recall if there was a corkage fee. I would come back when in Lafayette.

Nice small venue, very friendly staff. BYOB with a $ 5 cork fee. Sushi was among best in town. I don’t know if I’d bring my kids but a great date night bringing favorite bottle of wine or sake. 3 rolls, 2 app and a cork fee $ 70 plus tip.

The moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and smiling faces. They truly care about customer service and presentation! The food tasted very good and you could tell they made it with fresh ingredients and cared about each part of the preparation. One person in our group does not like sushi and was a little intimidated at the beginning by the wide selection of sushi in comparison to the list of other options. At the beginning they said that they would not want to come back again but after experiencing the service they said that they would love to come back and give them 5 stars! It was truly a phenomenal experience.

You are going to love this small restaurant. They need you to come back. they are small and we want to keep them. Had the YO-YO last night, spicy and wonderful. They maybe small but whatever you want, they will make. Thank you to Ginger and staff for another wonderful visit.

I’ve had sushi from at least a hundred different restaurants. But this is the best I’ve had so far. Most sushi restaurants won’t allow you to customize your roll. Fuji is very flexible. Set in a cozy and comfortable room with only seven tables, it’s very easy to sit back and relax while you eat. Menu is vast with a huge selection. Prices reflect the quality. I came here with my family but it’s also a great place for a date.

Some of the best sushi in the house. I recommend trying the«Happy Roll,» especially for those that like theirs cooked and not raw. The only negative thing I can say is there is one waitress and over cook, more often than not, which creates a Delay in your meal coming out. Small establishment, but their presentation of the food server is first class.

This place is a hidden gem that I happened to find a few months ago. Ginger, the owner, takes care of you like you are family. There are so many rolls to choose from it’s very difficult to choose. They’re all so good!!! My favorite on the menu is Yummy Sheila… bring your own vino for $ 5.00 corking fee…

I really like this place. It’s small but very clean. And really good. My husband loves sushi. He ate the Charles roll. It’s really spicy and raw. Lol. I like mine cooked and fried. Lol. Happy roll. Is my choice with soy paper. It’s 2.50 extra charge for soy paper but I do not like the seaweed paper. I don’t mind the extra charge.

Been wanting to try a new sushi place, and stumbled upon this on Unilocal. When I arrived to the location, I was so confused and was skeptical. When I walked in, it looks like it used to be a house, but turned into a restaurant. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. There was only one sushi chef and one waitress, but they were very friendly and helpful. We had the following: — Beef Tataki — lightly seared beef with ponzu sauce, seven-peppers, green onions & roe), delicious and fresh, and just the right balance of flavors — Tiger Roll — Fried shrimp, snowcrab, & crunchies, topped with crabstick, avocado, eel sauce, spicy mayo & hot sauce — Happy Roll — fried shrimp, snow crab, avocado, & cream cheese wrapped with sushi rice and seaweed then deep fried & topped with eel sauce & spicy mayo — And two other rolls I don’t remember. All the rolls were very delicious and I was very surprised. I will be back to Fuji and this would probably be my first choice for sushi in Lafayette!

Despite a few flaws, this is THE best sushi in Lafayette, and no one else comes close. My personal favorites are the Tiger(!!!), Aloha, and Mount Fuji roll. You can expect nothing but the best quality when it comes to everything on the menu, and the staff is a delight. The owner/waitress knows my name and always greets me coming in the door. (Sidenote: a lot of reviews mention free edamame, but this is NOT a given. I’ve had it comped and had to pay before… I suppose it depends on her mood. But the miso soup is free, and delicious.) That being said, there are a few downsides: 1. The menu is ridiculously long, and should either be pared down, or have a page featuring the most popular rolls. 2. The location is dreadful, which makes me worry if it will stay open. It’s on the corner of Johnston and Camelia, but the sign is small and it’s in the back of a shopping center. Getting a bigger sign may help, because the traffic whizzing by surely doesn’t know this place is here. 3. Coming on Friday or Saturday night? Don’t make any other plans. When this place gets busy, you can expect to count your meal in hours, not minutes. 4. If you have 2+ people, you will be over 100 dollars. HOWEVER, it’s soooo worth it… but I wish it was just a tad bit cheaper. Still, despite its shortcomings, you can’t get sushi better in this city. And the pros far outweigh the cons.

I couldn’t post this review fast enough. I was in Lafayette recently and had learned of Fuji Sushi House here on Unilocal and was excited to try it. Boy, am I glad I did. I was one of the most fun and interesting dining experiences I’ve had in a while. First and foremost let me just say that the customer service was AMAZING. The waitress was personable and funny and brought me three refills of Diet Coke before I had even finished it all. I didn’t have to ask or flag her down for anything at all. The miso soup and edamame she brought to the table was complimentary and both very good. Now, I do love sushi but I’ve never really learned to use chopsticks. I am not the most graceful person hahaha… usually I’ll just ask for a fork or even use my fingers to eat it. When our beautifully presented and delicious looking sushi arrived at the table I asked for a fork. Uh oh. Apparently this was overheard by the chef and she walked out and said, «a fork? No. If you want sushi you use chopsticks!» I wanted to crawl under the table. :) She then gave me «free chopstick lessons» as she called them for the next 15 minutes. I was a little embarrassed at first but quickly got the hang of it and I am now a proud chopstick expert. The sushi was all very, very good. So happy to have found this little gem of a place!
