Pretty dependable. Good and fresh, good drinks S service can be meh, but I ignore the snotty ones. Most are very nice and fast. One of my 2 favorite sushi places in town.

Seems as though Tsunami has fallen off. Our calamari appetizer was extremely over-fried(calamari was rubber and batter was a burnt). The poki bowl wasnt ‘all that’, though the fish was fresh. We had three rolls… two were on par, however, the third was woeful. Not a horrible experience, but we expected much more from Tsunami.

I’m giving them 5 stars for making my husband and I consistently happy. Sushi is always great, the chefs are always happy, the wait staff is just as vibrant. The atmosphere is young, modern and also laid back. You can come here all dressed up or in your work out clothes.(Which I’m guilty of) Our favorites are: the seared tuna, rainbow roll, the sumo steak, green monster roll and all of their martinis! Make sure to make room for their tsinful tsunami! You won’t be disappointed!

Nope. Drinks are good and the sushi is terrible. They just don’t get good ingredients. The fish is so bad. Great ideas with the menu but it’s mostly turd polishing.

The happy feet roll was amazing! Was a little disappointed about the over done tsunami lava cake. I usually love when the fudge pours out of the center! But will definitely be returning!

From the synthie, subtle thump from the house music that accompanies an amazing décor, to the amazing food and drink menu, if you’re looking for an ultra premium dining experience in Lafayette then this is your place. Tsunami boast a wide variety of specialties rolls(green monster being my favorite) and interesting takes on classics like their fried calamari. The drink menu is extensive, with a variety of ultra premium brand and a bar staff that knows their product. If you’re a whisky fan, I recommend the Hibiki 12. Service is quick, and I find the servers to quite personable. The menu can get a little pricey so, bring your wallet. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone not only looking for a good meal but, ambiance to go with it also!

Daily favorite place. I frequent often. The day bartender knows my special drink. She makes it perfect. The food is fantastic, very cool ambiance. I would recommend to anyone visiting if you want sushi rather than the Cajun/Creole thang! everyone is sooooo cool there.

I love sushi. One of my favorite top ten foods. Tsunami keeps it that way and has yet to give me a reason for anything other than 5 stars. Great service, great food, price is understandable, incredible atmosphere, just an all around awesome place to get unagi and hamachi.

Best sushi in Lafayette! I don’t think I have ever ordered a roll or cocktail that I have not thoroughly enjoyed. The service is always very attentive and the atmosphere is great!

Lol worse ramen(pork belly ramen) I have ever had in my entire life. Also, we ordered an appetizer, gyoza, got our soups and then after our tasteless ramen THEN it appears. Our server have told us they forgot about our gyoza LOL… We still wanted it anyways but yeah 3 crappy ramen, 2 gyoza, 3 miso soup was 90 something dollars. Only good thing was the tea. So it gets a two star cause the tea was bomb.

Best sushi in Lafayette hands down! Great décor, friendly staff, everything is fresh and delicious. I was surprised that the bill was the same as some of the terrible sushi places scattered around Lafayette. We got two miso soups, a dynamite roll, rainbow roll, and bons temp roll for $ 30 and everything was perfect. Tsunami is going to be my go to sushi place from now on. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great food. I love everything. Best sushi I know of and have tasted. I prefer lafayette location over Baton Rouge. There is another place called Fiji that is good

I haven’t been to this place in YEARS! I’m shocked at the other reviews on the price and service. The price seems fair compared to other sushi places that have the same vibe and standard. Our server was super great a knowledgable about the menu items and was attentive without being overbearing. I started with the garden salad with soy sauce dressing — only complaint here is that the lettuce was chopped super large so it was difficult to eat with feeling like an idiot — other than that it was great! Moving onto the entrée, we got several sushi rolls but since I don’t eat fish, and especially not of the raw variety, I stuck to the John Breaux Roll(spicy crawfish and avocado) and the Ragin Cajun Roll(Panko fried alligator, avocado, spicy mayo. and tsunami sauce) both were really great! Glad to see that this place is still thriving in my hometown! Hopefully they can keep the service consistent so others can have the same experience that we had!

My husband & I went to Tsunami last night for my birthday. It was our first time there. The wait for a table was 2 hours so we sat at the bar. Megan was our waitress & bartender and she was absolutely fantastic. She helped me choose delicious rolls and was so helpful. She was patient & sweet & kind. The sushi was delicious & I love the Hunk martinis.

I visited Lafayette for the first time recently to run a half marathon. Post race, I was famished. I visited Tsunami which is amazing!!! I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It is on Jefferson, so there are many things to do in the surrounding area which are all walkable. Their rolls are unique and they offer impressive mixologist cocktails. My favorite roll was decadent, the cupcake roll. Had some fried goodness of sorts, but when in Rome I say! Worth a stop for impressive soosh in a small town :)

Overpriced small portion sushi roll. Happy Feet roll 8pieces for 20 bucks seems abit too excessive and 2 bucks for a cup of green tea is outrageous! However service is prompt, ambiance is good and server is friendly. The roll falls apart too…

Overpriced and shitty service. Had to walk out. Its so dark inside maybe they just didn’t see me? Dono about sushi options in Lafayette but there must be better… and for sure cheaper. Lunch service the few times I have been has been better… but still pricey. Bento box is over $ 10 for lunch and the smallest box I have ever seen. Its hip and trendy though… kinda how the sushi places used to be back in the day… but where is the DJ… lol. I would imagine its the hip joint in Lafayette… good local date place… but your gonna pay and wait.

To my surprise, Lafayette actually has good sushi, and Tsunami is the proof! I started off with the calamari for appetizer. I was pretty amazed. This was probably the best calamari I have ever had. There was something different about it. I don’t know if it’s the sauce, the way they deep fried it, or what… but I had to say hands down it was the best. I don’t usually make this claim either. I’ll for sure order the calamari again next time I stop by. We sat at the sushi bar where they make the food in front of you. The person we had was really good, friendly, and pretty funny. I think having that kind of service makes all the difference. We ate as he made more sushi and continued conversation. As far as the sushi. It was great. I’m not a sushi expert, but it wasn’t buffet quality. Everything we ordered tasted just right. This place is pretty expensive, even for lunch so bring a big wallet. It’s sushi though, so what do you expect. Note: If you don’t eat fish or sushi, don’t bother coming here. We had a member in our group who couldn’t eat most of the stuff on the menu, hoping there was going to be fried rice on the menu lol

I live in Houston… Which may as well be little Asia. But Tsunami competes with some of the best sushi I’ve had here. And the chocolate tsunami is the best chocolate dessert I’ve ever had. Anywhere. EVER.

Pretty decent sushi for being in Lafayette. Nice atmosphere, and pretty pack at most times. We had the following: — Calamari — this was only okay at max, a little too chewy, and not like many delicious calamari I tasted — Curry Noodles — this was not that great, lacking in flavor — Sushi(Happy Feet, Transbest Bite, Cupcake, Cucumber Wrap, Lava, Michael Doumit, Zack Special) I don’t remember which rolls were which, but I think all of them were pretty decent, the one that was not that good was the Zack Special roll. Overall, this place wasn’t that bad, but not sure if I would come back or not.
