I used to LOVE this place. The best food for a great value. Now their portion sizes have drastically decreased(almost half of what they were) and they are charging for sauces. It’s happened the last 3 times I’ve gone and to my family as well. Very disappointed– it has made me think twice about having them be my go to restaurant.

Kabab-Burger, please get rid of that annoying POS iPad tip«suggestion» screen. I see this is a trend with some restaurants and this is why you’re getting a 3 and why we aren’t visiting any longer. Maybe the fiancé will convince me otherwise, but no, I just absolutely hate these obnoxious tips suggestion screens. I tip more generously than most as I used to work in food service. I don’t need to see this. Onto the review: Kabab-Burger is a small restaurant conveniently located by BART Lafayette and right next door to Trader Joes. It’s easily walkable from BART Lafayette, so if you’re looking for a quick meal before or after your trip, it’s totally doable. My fiancé and I ordered the chicken kebab dinner plate and I ordered their kefta kebab(I believe this is what they called it — the spiced ground beef) pita sandwich. I can only comment about the kebab sandwich. So what’s nice is that they put a pretty good amount of kebab in their sandwich. Also, the vegetables(sort of like a chopped greek salad) was pretty tasty too without being overly drowned in dressing. A very good sandwich. Oh the pita they use is on the thicker, spongier side. Not like the typical dry pita you’d get at most places. A big bonus. I’d definitely eat this again and recommend it to other. But this is yet another restaurant with that annoying in-your-face ipad based POS(not piece of s__t, but point of sale… but I really do think its a piece of s__t) system where the employees turn this pad around(if it’s not facing you) and forces you to put a tip amount. It «suggests» either None, 10%, 15%, or 20% or whatever you want to put in there. I can see it from a restaurant management side that it simplifies the transaction process, but maybe I’m a bit old fashioned, but I just cannot stand this at all. It’s so obnoxious and I see other restaurants doing the same. A 4.5 for the food because it was good, but down to a 3 b/c of the screen.

Nice job Kabab Burger. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. Your pita is the bomb. It’s thick, fluffy, naan-like qualities make me want to purchase five to-go bags and store them in my freezer. Your hummus is a little peculiar, very heavy on the tahini and not enough lemon for my taste. Your salad sampler platter, however, blew my mind. I love all the creative uses of eggplant, and the carrot salad made quite an impression on me. I would say the name of your restaurant is a bit of a misnomer, as the stand out dishes are not burger related, but more in the vein of traditional Middle Eastern. So you know, keep up the good work.

Pretty not great. Can’t really think of anything nice to say. Dry bread, weird Ghanoush, decent falafel I guess. It is a restaurant which is fun. It reminds me of nothing because I can’t really remember it anymore. Won’t be back I hope.

My husband and I absolutely love this place! A true taste of Israeli food! They make their pitas and hummus just like they make them in Israel! It seems like a family run business and I always see the owner walk by ask everyone if everything is to their liking. It’s a small gesture but it shows she cares and I love that about this place. I recommend their falafels, hummus, the sampler platter and their pitas that you can buy))

I referred my visiting computer tech to KB. He’s from Jordan. After his meal he called me to tell me it was the best Falafel he’d had since he was in the US. Right after he said this it sounded like a microphone dropped and then the line went silent. I’m taking his word for it. I’ve always loved it but now I know why.

This review is for the service I just received. I tried to order for lunch takeout, and the lady put me on hold and forgot about me completely. I had to remind her that I’m still on hold when I showed up at the store 15 minutes later. What a fucking moron! And no apologies either. I like the owners but the host should be fired.

This is my favorite place for shawerma and falafel in the Walnut Creek/Lafayette area. Their gyros are also really, really good. In fact, everything I’ve tried here has been delicious. I think what really makes it is their pita bread — it’s really fresh and soft, so any pita wrap you get ends up being super delicious. They also have fresh mint lemonade that I like a lot — and their baklava is very good if you still have room for dessert. I recommend eating there though — I once got our shawerma pitas to go and they were a bit soggy by the time I got home. Probably better to get a plate if you are taking it with you.

When I say it’s the best hummus ever that is an understatement. I don’t know what they do to it, but it is creamy, delicious and addicting. Oh and you MUST get the pita bread, it is absolutely fantastic, I believe they make it in house, could be wrong. It is also the best tasting pita I have. After months of only getting the hummus I decided to venture on to other items. So far I have had the falafel, perfectly seasoned, lots of goodness inside and not too greasy. I also tried the matzo ball soup, where else can you get that out this way?! It was amazing, it’s my go to on a cold day. The only thing I wasn’t too thrilled about was the greek salad, there weren’t any kalamata olives, it felt as though it was missing something. Other than that, I really enjoy this place. They also do catering, and to go orders. Parking can be tricky during peak hours, but there is plenty of parking. Great little gem in Lafayette!

My wife and I came here after recently moving to the area and were specifically trying numerous Mediterranean places in the area. This was not just our least favorite, but we found the food to not have enough spice to it after requesting it hot and the dishes don’t have the same flavors as other places we’ve been too. Chances are if you’ve never eaten Mediterranean food before you’ll like this place, but if you’ve ever had anything from SF, SJ or Oakland you’ll be let down.

Excellent hummus, baba ghanoush, falafels and pita. The sampler appetizer is my favorite. And the owners and the staff are so nice and welcoming.

This place is soooo good. Definitely the best falafel I’ve had in my life. I got the falafel in pita and I could tell the falafel and pita were made fresh. The staff was very friendly and I took a seat outside and they brought me my order. Highly recommended!

My 50th review! This is by far the best falafel I’ve ever had in the US. I’ve had a lot of falafel. I had a friend visiting and I told her to go there for lunch while I was at work. She loved it as well, and she lived in Israel. This is the real deal. Food: falafel is amazing — crispy on the outside, fluffy and delicious on the inside. Great schwarma, gyro, and very yummy fries. Israeli salad is very very good. You have to try their herbaceous hot sauce that normally sits at your table. Ambiance: It looks like a fast food place but their food is made with care. Service: the owners are very friendly. They messed up on an order and the wife apologized and brought us baklava.

Fresh house made pita. Awesome falafel! Informal counter order lunchtime place but open late. Has sidewalk tables in the little strip mall, some trees out front make it nice. Total win.

ABSOLUTELYDISGUSTING. I took out food for lunch and in my Israeli side salad I found 2 short/medium wavy hairs that couldn’t have been mine because of the hair color and hair length. Literally pulled out one of the hairs from my mouth… barf. I called the business to kindly let them know that there were hairs found in my salad and suggested that they should toss out the batch. Once I told them they gave me the ‘you are crazy’ treatment and with offensive attitude, exclaimed to me that it could not have been anybody from their business and I was mistaken. Not cool. Safe to say, I will not be frequenting this business ever again. Beware of the Israeli salad.

Hold up. Hold the phone. Hold onto your butts. Kebab Burger has the most insanely delicious baba ganoush that has ever existed, and it’s reason enough for you to give them a try. KB has lots of vegetarian options, and the sampler is a great place to start if you can’t decide on just one thing. Everything in it is fabulous — just-sour-enough dolmas, creamy hummus, fresh falafel, fluffy pita, some tasty salads, and that garlicky, smoky, heavenly baba ganoush. Fair warning — that stuff is addictive. I apologize in advance if you start finding excuses to go to Trader Joe’s or the Post Office, only so you can justify another stop at Kebab Burger.

Their hummus is the best I’ve ever tasted. I go there just to buy that sometimes. I also had the Matzo Ball soup this weekend and it was yummy. Their falafel and desserts are yummy too. The interior is not much to look at, but the food Is tasty and I get mine to go normally so doesn’t matter to me. It was very busy on Saturday this weekend so the rest of the stuff on the menu must bee good too.
