Refinery Downtown

* Go Here* I travel a lot for work and so keeping a regular barber, much less getting a reliable haircut while on the road is impossible. I was in desperate need of a haircut while in town so I started looking around. Being a guy with a full beard, I set out looking for a cut from an older gentalman named Rusty with knuckle tattoos and a salty demeanor about him where you knew he had seen some shit in his days as a roadie for Led Zeppelin or as the VP of the Hells Angels back in the 70’s. Therefore I was a little apprehensive about going to what looked like an upscale salon. However when I saw you got whiskey in a highball glass while you waited, I figured «How bad could this place really be.» The short version is this place is amazing! I called the day of and they were able to fit me right in. I went right to a chair and gave the stylist a general idea of what I was going for with a new haircut and a beard trim and she took it from there. They really know guys cuts and also throw in a little dude pampering while you’re there, which really beats the complimentary knife fight that Rusty might throw in to see what your bill afterwards was going to be. If I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely be back and you should go to!

This is an amazing salon for both men and women. It has a very cool, laid back feel without being exclusive to one sex. My husband and I both get our hair done there. The owner, Renee does an incredible job with color. The other stylists are great as well. They offer many things you don’t see at other places like a re-​shade for men. This blends out gray hair and you can’t even tell it has been dyed. Scheduling is convenient too bc you can do it all online.

Great place to get a haircut, and reasonably priced as well. I usually wait until I have visited a place a few times before writing a review, but I had a great experience at Refinery and don’t know when I will be back (I don’t live in Lafayette). The salon itself is very industrial, which I thought was a great design choice that goes well with the building. I was offered water upon arrival and then was taken to the chair for my cut.
My haircut was definitely on the lower price end for a salon haircut and the stylist was friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back to her for another cut. The wash included a hot face towel, which was unexpected and awesome, as was the lengthy head massage. If this place was in NOLA it would be my new go to for haircuts. As is… if I know I’ll be in Lafayette I may wait and then get my haircut when I’m back in town.

My fiancé got his hair cut here and it looks so good! I’m sorry I don’t remember her name, but she has short brown hair with glasses on the left side three booths down. Also, my cousin was waiting with me and she was unhappy with her haircut from a place in Lake Charles. She asked a stylist if she should have got her hair thinned out a bit and the stylist fixed the errors with her hair and now it looks fabulous! She was so happy with the result and the stylist (short, blonde pixie cut haired) so nice! I definitely recommend coming here!

Most relaxing haircut I’ve ever received. Hot towel on my face the smell of eucalyptus and a very relaxing atmosphere. I rarely give 5 stars and the staff deserve every one of them !

Great find! I recently moved back to Lafayette after being away for a few years and am grateful to have found Refinery Downtown! Great atmosphere, great service and they even managed to squeeze in a great haircut. Renee took great care of me and I’ll certainly be making my way back again and again.
