Fabulous Cheesesteak. I use one word to spell Cheesesteak, not two like their name. Have spelled it this way since living in Philly pre-’75. Went to their first original shop on Divisadero in SF before they moved up the street! Fresh raw onions & mushrooms as well as wonderful garlicky roasted garlic cloves. Although pre-roasted, they’re soft & delicious. Amoroso rolls from Philly & they sell a few varieties of TastyKake. For those who believe they’re using less meat, see my pic! My 10″ steak couldn’t have been better. Like that they do not heat the roll on the grill as this takes away from its cheweyness, not that there’s such a word,!

Love the cheesesteaks, but man, they need air conditioning! It’s hot for the customers, I can’t even imagine what it’s like for the employees working that stove!

Adding another Star, up from 3 to 4 stars. They seem to have become more consistent with their«King of Philly» Sandwich. I have had three great sandwiches in a row. I hope this trend continues! They deserve credit for listening to their guests and putting out a delicious and consistent product. Please keep it up!

I’ve been going here for 2 – 3 years since i started school at saint Mary’s. Some of the best Cheese Steaks you will have.. If you want a quality, authentic«Philly Cheese Steak,» going here is a must.

Probably my favorite place to eat in the entire world. Amazing cheese steaks! I wish they had these in Southern California, or could fly them to me!

Great service and awesome food. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve been to Philly, PA and this rivals the real thing. Very little parking but spots open up quick. You won’t regret it, get in there today!

Delicious ass cheesesteaks… always coming back here! The bread is so soft and flavored, and the meat is nicely textured and easy to chew. Love the variety of different toppings that they have… love this place!

Always delicious, but they overcharged me for my meal. I ordered right before closing and took it to go, but when I got home, it wasn’t what I ordered. I returned today and told them what happened, and they wouldn’t refund me. You’ll now be last on my list.

I’ve been to a few cheese sreak shops around here, and of them all this one is the best. they probably pay more attention to maintaining a positive image b/c of area business is in.

This is where you end up when nobody in the house wants to cook and you’re looking to get a meat fix! Today’s choice was a bacon cheese steak with peppers and onions. All I can say is uh uh uh. Not bad at all. The only problem was I had to share and we didn’t have enough french fries to go with the take a bit of your sandwich, stuff a frie in your mouth ratio. The customer service was good, the wait was short and best of all it left my tummy sissified. I don’t eat cheese steaks often, but when I have that carnivore itch again, I will return, not share and get a larger order of fries to insure the itis ensues. I give this place 3 yums up!

Very little cheese mainly hot peppers. Won’t be going back that’s for sure. Bread seemed stale as well. Don’t know how they get such a high rating I was very disappointed.

Best cheeseteak in Bay Area. Try the original veggie and don’t worry about the calories so much. Great service and ambience, too… Like Philly

Great service, better than any Philly Cheese Steak shop, with authentic cheese steaks, rolls from Philly. Clean rest rooms. Parking can be a hassle, but well worth the walk

I really like this place, but man, my boyfriend LOVES it. Whenever he would come to visit me at Saint Mary’s, we had to make a couple stops here, and I have no complaints! I would always get the medium sized cheese steak, and it was always so good. We would also order a side of fries or onion rings. The sandwich was large and I always left full and happy. Next time I visit the area, I will definitely make a stop here. I have always wanted to try the other sandwiches, but I couldn’t not order the cheese steak! Maybe I will get the guts to next time and order something new, but I doubt it. Getting hungry thinking about this place!

Felt like the bread was stale, which didn’t make for a great sandwich because the bread to meat ratio was completely off. Not sure if I would eat there again.

This is where I go to every time I feel like eating my work stress away. It so happens to be conveniently located by my job. I go for the classic Philly with mushrooms. I love the combination of the sweet and spicy peppers in the sandwich. The peppers definitely give it a flavor pop! The garlic fries is sinfully buttery and garlicky. A couple of altoids was definitely a must after. I recommend calling in your order ahead of time, especially during lunch time.

Being from Philadelphia and living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I’m always looking for a good Philadelphia Cheesesteak. I’ve seen this shop several times on my travels on 24. I was happily surprised. I ordered the Hail to the King original Cheesesteak. It boasted it was 50% more than the regular 10 inch. It was a cheesesteak with grilled onions and choice of sweet or hot peppers. I chose the sweet peppers. I also combo’d my cheesesteak with a soda and curly fries. The cheesesteak was good. Created just like a real philly cheesesteak from back home. I think the roll was a bit smaller than the ones you find back Philadelphia. I expected a bigger sandwich since I opted for the«50% more» Hail to the King. I thought it may be a busting at the seams cheesesteak. All in all it was good and probably one of the best cheesesteaks I’ve had here in the bay area so far. The Cheesesteak Shop was a nice inside and had 2 flat screens with the football games on. Philadelphia décor they even had a Phillies pennant on the wall and some Tastykakes on the counter. I had a good experience and a decent cheesesteak even though I wished it may have been bigger. All in all good place and I definitely plan on going back.

Why didn’t anyone tell me there were vegetarian cheese steaks? Boyfriend and I ordered one of each veggie variety, some classic fries, and subsequently had our minds blown. PLUS they have a whole TUB of RANCHDRESSING — I’m from the Midwest, where ranch is one of the main food groups — which makes this my new favorite place.

My friends and I love to come here to eat. This store opened up in Lafayette quite a while ago and replaced the KFC that used to be here(RIP Colonel). The sandwiches are always filling because they’re stuffed with meat and cheesy goodness! I’ve never really thought about it, but the rolls they use are great and are incredibly good vessels for all the variations of a cheese steak that you can order here. I guess I’m always busy enjoying my food and trying to figure out whether the meat or the cheese was more likely to clog my arteries. I always go for the 10-inch barbecue Philly cheese steak(or sometimes their special Italian sausage one) with grilled onions, both sweet and hot peppers, and a side of their onion rings. Everything I’ve had here has been good, so you won’t be let down. Service here is always good, the staff are friendly. It’s usually not terribly crowded and pretty relaxed. They have two TVs which they typically show various sports. Don’t forget to ask for a stamp card because you’ll definitely be back for more!
