Good place to go if you’re looking for a relaxing drink during the week. The beers are great and ever-changing and the bartenders are quick to allow you to sample their choices. The crowd can change from day to day but it’s usually pretty down to earth and a friendly place to be. Service is quick and consistent.

Came hang out with the wife on a whim, the beer selection was good, shuffleboard is free, music is ok, draft beer is pretty pricey. All in all it’s an ok place, could use a customer selected music option and beer specials.

Not as bad as people say. Great beer selection. fun bartenders. Outside of the food menu, I loved it. Until 9pm… then U didn’t have enough pink polos to roll with this crowd.

Maddi is the best server EVER! When they tell you some thing is good, believe me it’s really good.

Hipster bartender decided to switch the TV next to our table from the LSUNCAA tournament game we were all watching to the Kentucky game in spite of the fact that there wasn’t a Kentucky fan in the bar I couldn’t close out fast enough. His poor decision making cost his boss and our wonderful server(the only reason this wasn’t a zero) quite a bit more money. We will not be back

I love this place. My husband and I live at the Mainstreet apartments so we can just walk there. Hot dogs are good, they have a wide selection of beers, been in Lafayette for barely two months, and it’s one of my favorite bars in town.

Came in for the 25 cent oysters! Great selection of beer and the oysters were pretty big. Music was kind of loud but I was being old that day.

Got new owners summer 2014. Pretty cool place to come chill. Gourmet hot dogs on menu and a couple appetizer items iff menu if you ask. Lots of beers on tap… Maybe 30… Plus a good selection of bottles. Tons of tvs plus a shuffle board. Also, they serve oysters when they are in season. Its owned by the son of the guy who own all the mcdonnalds around lafayette

The atmosphere and the crowd is the only reason I would recommend going here. It along with Corner Bar are the only places in town of their kind: decent looking bars for 20 or 30 somethings that aren’t downtown. It’s a place to go for a drink after work, and they have a wide beer selection(with very few IPA’s, though). Now, to the bad. I ordered raw oysters and they were god awful. Worst I’ve ever had. I had never actually had bad oysters before visiting the Tap Room. They were dry and tasted weird. I ate 2 and had to wash them both down with beer to mask the taste and dryness. I was planning on telling the manager, but Mr. Drunk Palate at my table was quick to scarf them down. Complaining about an empty plate makes one lose a little credibility. Either way, my best guess is that they were previously frozen or refrigerated. Not cool, when you are supposedly trying to sell a quality product, and especially not cool when that product is raw seafood. Another negative is that their beer is ridiculously priced. I had 4 beers and the bad oysters($ 9-below market price, should’ve known) and the bill was $ 40 before tip. Go for the atmosphere, don’t go for the oysters or to save money. This was in early May 2014.

Agreed with all previous reviews about the service but I quickly forgot when I discovered it was two for a dozen oysters on Monday. Great selection of locals, cheap beer(bud, rolling rock, killian’s), imported(kronenburgh 1664, smithwicks), and craft beers(UFO, magic hat, 312). Satisfied a city boy beer palate.

The Lafayette Tap Room has a nice and long wood bar. There are tables scattered about. Large windows make the place feel open and comfortable. Some live acoustic music was playing that added to the feel. The bar is also non smoking which I enjoy. Service is something to be desired. A bunch of cute coeds that know nothing about what the bar serves. They are friendly and working for tips. They have lots of taps. About 30. Though many are Euro macros. Stella, Peroni, Bass, ect. Lots of Abita with some Lazy Magnolia and Hook & Ladder(though the bartenders had know idea what either were). The bottle list is a bit more extensive. Several Sam Smith beers are available. Chimay, Duvel, Orval, Schneider, and Celebrator. Overall I like the Green Room better(much better quality and bottle selection). Though this place is not bad. It is a nice place in a neat part of town, but is kind of lacking for a top notch beer bar.

These guys have something great going on. Granted, I do miss the HUGE draft beer selection, but they’ve still got enough to choose from to keep the discerning guests’ mugs full. The Tap Room hosts the«Mixers» for a local leadership organization of which I am a part. They are always helpful, hospitable, and just genuinely nice. The bartenders are pleasant as well, no matter what your drink preference. This place is the perfect followup for a dinner at any number of restaurants located in this developing, beautiful area of Lafayette. Definitely one of the most enjoyable businesses in the River Ranch development.

Been about four times now, and I am not a fan. The beer selection got worse and worse each time I went. The last time, a friend and I tried ordering a few different bottled beers off of the menu, and they had none of them. The excuse was that they had stopped carrying those beers, but had not updated the menu yet. Lame. The bartender was very nice though, which is why I didn’t give The Tap Room one star.

The Tap Room is a good bar. They opened at 9am for the World Cup games which was awesome for me. They have alot of beer choices and beer mixers. My favorite is the«Dark Side of the Moon» which is Blue Moon on the bottom and Guiness on top. They serve great raw oysters too. The outside seating is nice for smokers like myself. It’s a nice place to sit and have a beer when the weather is nice out. It’s a little pricey(My Dark Side of the Moon’s are 7 or 8 bucks) but you’re in River Ranch so what do you expect?
