My overall experience at the spa was top notch. My husband and I got the hot stones couple treatment. Not only was the massage amazing, but Willow also gave me some tips to help out with my migraines going forward. She’s very knowledgeable at what she does. After our treatment we enjoyed some delicious healthy snacks which was just icing on the cake. As far as the gratuity goes, Willow made it very clear there was an 18% gratuity added on the the spa service. It was on the website, her email, and when I called to set up an appointment she advised me of it. I was well aware of the added gratuity before even setting up the appointment.

UPDATE: Here’s a lesson in how to make a problem worse:
Since my review, the spa web page has been updated and they have corrected their web page to show that the 18% fixed gratuity will be added to all services (before it was only specified on coulpes and corporate events.
Then they wrote to me telling me it WAS on their web page, trying to pass this off as my mistake.
Nice try, Spa on Lake. Now you get 1 star.

I scheduled a single massage treatment for my wife for Mother’s Day.
I’m sad to report that my wife LOVED her massage, but I am steaming mad.
At checkout time the attendant charged me a mandatory 18% gratuity which was never mentioned on the website or phone conversations.
The website only mentions this 18% fixed gratuity for couples massages and corporate events. NOT for single massages.
Since it was Mother’s Day and my wife was standing right next to me, I did not protest at check out.
But make no mistake, this is a slimy, slimy business practice — just cheating.
And we will NOT be back at your spa unless you stop this practice.
If it weren’t for that counter-​productive money-​grab, I would have given you 5 stars. And if you had let me decide my own gratuity, I would have probably given you more like 20%.

What a fabulous place to get away and relax. The spa is small and quiet; gave me good space to relax and enjoy myself.
The massage therapists are wonderful, and I enjoyed a facial as well – best facial ever. I was so relaxed by the time the therapist was done, I just melted off the table.
The mimosa was a tasty perk to relax with, too!
