I’ve lived in the county for about 20 years and worked just down the street from Midas for about 5 years. I will now be taking all my car care to Midas in Laguna because of their superior customer service. I had a flat tire after avoiding an accident and they were able to repair the tire in a timely fashion. But, the best extension of their customer service was when I realized I had left my wallet at home to pick up the car. They allowed me to take the car without hesitation and pay by phone. They not only relieved the stress of starting off my day with avoiding a car accident and popping my own tire at the beginning of my workday, they did it with a smile on their face. I can’t thank them enough, but I can bring my car to them from here on out.

I moved from Laguna Beach end of 2013 but just came across the business card with «Juan» written on it now. Forgive me for the overdue review! I had taken my old Hyundai there periodically for oil changes over the years, but had an auto issue the last year I was in OC that no one could seem to figure out, including the Hyundai dealership. I had given up on fixing it (the car would literally just turn off when I wasn’t accelerating), went in for an oil change at this Midas, and Juan convinced me he knew what the problem was. Next day– resolved! The car still works to this day. In addition to fixing what at least four other repair shops could not, Juan was always super nice and honest. Despite the location, the prices are very reasonable.

Our 16 year old daughter blew out her tire. Unbeknownst to Juan, Triple A dropped off the car in his driveway. Juan was super accommodating, acquired a special wrench from VW and even changed the wipers on my SAAB.
It was refreshing to see a shop owner help out my family and do what was in our best interest at every turn.
I’d HIGHLY recommend Midas Laguna Beach.

This Midas is the only place I will have my car serviced. They do great work, they do it quickly and efficiently and their prices are more than reasonable. Always ask to speak to Juan-​he is the reason this Midas is the best. Juan won’t do the work if you don’t need it-​he will send me home rather than do something just to take my money. I trust him implicitly and I know my car is in excellent hands. This is a 5 star repair shop

got my oil change in 30 minutes!!! including tire rotation. made an appointment & got the service done right away! this place is right across from SHELL GAS STATION and i never noticed it. i used to goto Chevron in Corona Del Mar for quick oil change but i had to wait almost 3 hours for simple oil change even with appointment! MR. ABBAS helped me getting the appointment and he made sure that technician was ready and available when i got there and BOOM! it was done in no time! i love it!!! =) thx!!!

I took my car to Midas because I had a very large copper pipe stuck in my tire and it was the closest automotive place I could find that I thought could help me. After arriving I had to try and find someone to help me. Once I found someone, they inspected the tire and said they couldn’t help me. While they were kind, it was not the answer I needed to hear on a Monday after work. However, they did have time for a lady in a very fancy Mercedes that had just pulled in after me. Finally, after navigating my way out of their very cramped parking lot, I was on my way to a different place with my leaking tire. I will not be visiting this Midas again.

Juan & the mechanics at this Midas are so professional, helpful & honest. I would highly recommend bringing your car here for service.

I’ve been here multiple times, brakes, oil, check engine light, replace oxygen sensor. Went in today on June 5 2013. Juan has always been who I’ve interacted with, Jim once a few years ago. I’ve always felt like I’ve been treated more than fairly here. I always refer other locals here and all locals that I’ve talked to all have had good things to say about this place. I recommend this place.

AMAZING place to get your car taken care of!
Jim is the owner at Midas in Laguna Beach, and he really goes above and beyond to give great customer service. I had a problem with my brakes, and he drove my car around to personally see what was wrong with them and see what he could do to fix them. I had gotten my brakes previously «fixed» at another Midas, and he told me about the warranty that probably came with my original purchase. I was able to find my old receipt, and he did the whole thing under warranty, so I didn’t have to pay anything! My brakes are completely fixed now, and he even followed up to make sure I was satisfied with them.
I highly recommend Jim and his team at Midas. I will definitely be taking my car back to this Midas, not only for their amazing work, but also for their above-​and-​beyond customer service and follow through!

In need of a battery, I found Midas and what a good choice I made. Jim the owner help me with an excellence of costumer service, turn out it was the alternator not the battery. they help me with my alternator and recharge my battery with out trying to sell me a new one. I really appreciate all the help and quickness, I would definitely use them again and I highly recommend them, thanks Jim God bless you.

Jim Blaschke is the MAN. This place reeks of honest hardworking staff. People have been with Jim awhile and know the clients needs. Sometimes doesn’t chafe enough
Also sold two old cars thru Jim… no fuss for me just got the check. Been using service here since 2000 or so.

I have been taking my car to Jim for several years and have sent all of my friends there as well. When I bought a car with an extended warranty, I was actually disappointed that I would have to go back to the dealer. Now that the warranty is up, I am happy to go back to Jim for all my needs. We even took my sisters car there for service while she was here on vacation as she couldn’t find a better mechanic in Seattle.
The pricing is fair and the service is extraordinary. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

I’ve been going here for at least the last 10 years. They have never steered me wrong. I’ve asked for services i didn’t need that they could have totally just charged me for, but they always tell me no, i don’t need this or that. I trust my wife to go here without me, that’s how cool these guys are.

Honestly, I love this place. I have a ’02 Ford Taurus, and I got it in ’06. I didn’t get it from a dealer and I never was very farmiliar with the local ones. Anyway, I started going here because it’s only a few blocks from my house (yay!) so I never have to worry about dropping it off and picking it up. They always do a great job and it usually takes LESS than what they estimate, which is great! I mainly get regularly scheduled oil changes and stuff (basic Midas package) and only runs me about $ 30. They fix my breaks all the time too, and don’t ever screw me! I recently had an issue with them; they needed to be replaced, but I got them about 6 months ago… He called me up and said, «it’s under warranty and you got it here, so it’s just labor costs» and that was such a relief! I didn’t even know they were that bad!
I took my Taurus to a Ford dealership because I wanted to get a major service done. I have a friend who bought her Mustang at Capistrano Ford, so I took it there. (side note: I’m going to go rate them next). They seemed nice enough. I was wrong… They said I have leaks and this and that and the whole thing (before the 90,000 mile service, mind you) would cost around $ 2,000.00. HOLY CRAPOLA. No thanks, that’s half that car is worth. I got normal services done at midas continually, and they fixed one of them CHEAP.
Recently took my Taurus in to get the 90-​something service finally. They found the big leak… yikes. Turns out they said pretty much the same thing as Ford did. There was a leak in the transmission and the leak itself isn’t anything serious, but to do the service they’d have to manually go into the transmission by hand (instead of with their machine and stuff). The entire service, leaks fixed, oil changed, filters changed, etc. cost me about $ 400, total. That’s with tax and labor! =D they always do an amazing job here.
***Bottom line: They treat you as they should. They care about your car! They won’t screw you over, like a dealership might. Yeah, labor costs a bit, but it costs about the same as any other shop. Every time I go in, they remember small things about my car, in fact when I was leaving last time, the manager (knows so so much!) said «I know your car really well by now, I’ll go in to check when you come in next time to make sure everything is in place and the leak is gone. You’re car should be running really well now for you!» Such great service and SO RELIABLE! They always fit me in Saturday mornings. 5 STARS for everything!
