Horrible choice in color for a so called color specialist and over charged to ruin my color. I won’t refer or go there again. I have no compliments on my hair except I got ripped off.

Nahid is amazing… GO see her! My mom has been a client of hers for years & she always walks out with a killer haircut… so I decided to see her before my wedding for a cut. It was a great decision! I love my hair. She was precise and paid attention to all the details. She wanted me to leave the salon looking perfect! I really appreciate it… Thank You!

Ok, so this review is WAY overdue and I apologize — but wanted to give a shout out to Nahid. I came in with a mess of a haircut — an attempt at a long bob («lob») done elsewhere. My hair type requires extra time to carefully layer, shape and texturize. Nahid was patient, careful and understanding doing her best to fix me up before a big event I had. I left with a MUCH better cut, and great new fresh highlights! THANK YOU NAHID, for going the extra mile for me. Appreciate it!!!

it took me 4 tries to find the right stylist when I moved to Irvine last year. I saw on Unilocal that Nahid was good at fixing sub-​optimal cuts and made an appointment. She diagnosed the problem and has pursued an improvement strategy over the last few months — until we have my hair at a length and style that works beautifully for me. I am so appreciative. Also — I love Aveda products, which have served me well for 20 years. At 50, I still have mostly brown hair — a combo of good genes and Aveda clove shampoo!

Fawzeya did a wonderful job listening to what I wanted and giving me advice for what would look good. I’m very pleased with both my hair cut, the coloring and the time spent there.

Came here for a cut and color and left very happy! Nahid was great — talked me through what she was doing and why, and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted before starting so that she would get it perfect, which she did! The place is nice and ocean view! I cut off almost eight inches, got an asymmetrical bob, and colored my hair to its natural color. Everything came out great, and I was kept entertained through the process. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to treat their hair.

Nahid, the owner, was generous to donate 2 blowouts to The Friendship Shelter, which I bought. My friend & I redeemed them just before a wedding. Nahid could not have been nicer, more accommodating, or more fun! She took the time to listen to what we wanted and then made suggestions based on what we wanted. She was not pushy at all with any suggestion. She made sure that our styles would last through the evening, which it did surprisingly well– even when sitting in a wind tunnel for 45 minutes! For me, having a blowout and style last the day is the most important part of the service. And because of all this, I will definitely go back to Nahid! Thank you again!

I’ve seen Taylor O’Neill twice now for highlight and a cut. She’s wonderful. My hair has never looked so good. She’s also very knowledgable. I highly recommend her.

Salon La Mer is an amazing place. The environment is fun, and happy. Nahid is a kick in the pants — so energetic!
Taylor literally saved my hair! I am an avid athlete, so I am really tough on my hair (wearing a helmet, pulling it back, wind, etc.) — she gave me the perfect beachy blonde color that I wanted, that will be low to maintain. She applied a glaze that is keeping my hair lovely and shiny. And the cut is great — not too short, not too long. A few fancy layers. I feel completely refreshed. Looking forward to visiting Salon La Mer again for all my hair needs.

For the longest time I wanted, no needed a new stylist. I grew up in a hair salon but I needed a young and fresh stylist to give me an awesome look. I have never had so many compliments, my dad even said I looked gorgeous :)
Taylor was wonderful, treated me so well, took amazing care of my hair and gave it the TLC it needed. I walked out feeling like a brand new woman and it still looks just as good a week later (that’s what counts right). Salon La Mer is cozy, comfy, clean, convenient, in my favorite Laguna, and the salon owner is super sweet. They use Aveda products which is the best. These gals should be your go-​to… Taylor is the sweetest thing ever and I enjoyed every moment with her. Thank you so much for taking such great care of me and my hair and doing an amazing job. See you in a few weeks!

I had a cut and highlights with Taylor and it is just perfect. I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted or how light I wanted to go but Taylor knew instinctively what would suit me best. 5 stars– highly recommend.

So I chopped 12 inches off my hair and got the new «lob».
My husband was none too happy about losing the long sexy locks he adores but he ain’t the one taking care of it so I figured I give this place a shot and purchased a Groupon for a cut and blow dry.
They are located north of Main Beach in Laguna, corner of PCH and San Joaquin, across the street from Crescent Bay. If available, there are free spots on San Joaquin, or you can opt for the meters on PCH and surrounding areas.
I was fortunate enough to score Nahid to do my hair. Per my fellow Unilocalers, she’s legit. And they’re right.
First of all, Nahid’s got some personality and I warmed up to her quick. She didn’t push any product sales other than suggesting a different shampoo for my type of hair. I told her what I wanted and she triple checked with me first if I was 110% sure I was chopping off that much hair and showed what 12 inches off really looks like. I firmly said YES, chop it off!
She was detailed, asked lots of questions and while doing all that we chatted like old girlfriends. Even the other customers told me they’ve been loyal clients for decades, that attests to their expertise and service.
My new lob turned out so cute and swingy, I couldn’t stop playing with it for hours. It came out exactly as I hoped for, she suggested a few layers on the bottom for movement and added thicker bangs to change up my look. Hubs, despite his previous protests, ended up loving my new look.
Can’t wait to come back for my trim!

Nahid rocks! Go for Nahid. She is a very knowledgeable and professional hairstylist who does anything to make her customer happy.

After a lot of hemming and hawing, and lots of questions of friends and other salons, I decided that I wanted to turn the clock back a bit on my grey hair.
There seem to be plenty of salons that deal with women’s hair, but I’m a guy, and what I wanted was a gradual darkening that would not look obvious and ‘dyed’!
I was introduced to Michelle by a good friend of mine who has had his hair colored for 20 years, and I never knew it!!!
So I took the plunge and drove an hour from the South Bay to Laguna to see Michelle Marie who he so highly recommended.
I could stretch out the story, but the bottom line is that I’ve never had a more intelligent and ‘artistic’ stylist who really took your whole look into consideration and matched it to what I wanted to achieve.
It’s as though she turned back the clock 15 years. There is still grey, which is what I wanted. I didn’t want to turn back the clock 40 years! Her work is subtle and perfect.
She also re-​cut my hair which I had just had done with another stylist 3 days before. Again, just brilliant!
I cannot recommend Michelle more highly. I will definitely be back and recommend her to everyone I know.
Her coloring skills and cut make me feel great — and look great. Which is the whole point… yes?

They understands everything I want and even when I don’t know how to put it in words or describe it, she’s patient and helps me explain it so that I get exactly what I imagined in my head.
That, my friends is talent. They are passionate and driven by their customers which has always been important to me. I’ve always wanted certain things done to my hair and have gotten so many «never again experiences» that I almost lost hope until she worked her magic. Sounds totally cheesy but true. I have naturally dark hair, and was always told I couldn’t do blond and always told that browns and warm colors were the only thing for me– well no everyone was wrong, I have gone red and blond and have rocked them all bc of Maya! I have referred so many friends w hair cuts and color and it has never been a regret!
Remarked is a totally different feel than birds nest but I can’t say I hate it, I love it! Absolutely everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Any time I return, it isn’t just as a customer but as a friend.
