A group of us came here for valentine’s day and it was awesome! Customer service was on point and overall ambiance was romantic but still fun. band was great too. we sat in the lounge because we wanted a more casual atmosphere and it was perfect! michael was our bartender before we sat down. he was super attentive and makes a great drink! rooftop bar is insane! amazing view and good bartenders. i think we had chanel earlier in the day and she was our favorite:) def will be back!

This was our very first time dining here. We were very impressed by what was offered during the Valentine’s Day price-fixed dinner. We selected the avocado appetizer that initially worried us, because it was to be shared by both; however, it was a large half avocado stuffed with shrimp and other toppings that were yummy and actually enough for two. Most restaurants, if not all, usually hike the prices by about 25−35% because of the special day, so when the waitress said we could only share ONE appetizer, we worried about our restaurant choice, Thankfully, Skyloft surprised us with some very tasty food, and even forced us into taking home leftovers because we were joyfully stuffed. We ordered the 14 oz. sirloin steak that was prepared as we requested with mash potato and grilled veggies. That came after an order of corn chowder and salad for each, followed by dessert tastings for two. The food was very good and the price point($ 120 for two) reasonable, given it was Valentines Day. It also included a glass of champagne for each. As for the ambiance, that too was above par. They offered live music without a cover charge and played throughout the evening. I understand they will soon request a cover charge of $ 5 on weekdays and $ 10 on Friday-Sunday. There may be a higher cover charge depending on the musician/artist. There is a roof top terrace that is on a first-come basis, so get their early to enjoy the sunset. The interior of the restaurant has a modern design and the guests were mostly in their 20’s and early 30’s, so my wife and I felt like grandparents, but the staff was welcoming and provided good service. We will definitely come back again to enjoy the food and music!

Such a great little gem!!! The wait is long but if you head to the skylight rooftop bar it’s outstanding. Shannon was such a great bartender! Recommended drinks and food! Didn’t steer ya wrong. Can’t wait to come back! Does not disappoint.

Absolutely loved the food and service. Our server, Jeremy, was great and even the manager, Jonathan Moore, was around to make sure we were happy.

My first waitress was not the best, she didn’t really want to help us so we came downstairs and Shannon helped us and he is amazing !!! He was so nice and so much fun! When I come back I hope he is here because he was so welcoming ! Loved him !

Decided to try this place out with some friends for a birthday. Terrible idea. Granted we went on a Saturday evening so it was busy but we did not expect what we walked into. There’s a $ 10 cover charge; which is quite normal for Laguna bars but if I’m going to pay to get in somewhere and spend more money, it better be worth it. The music was so loud we literally couldn’t hear ourselves think let alone have a conversation, it took 20 minutes to order a drink, and there’s barely in room to move. We ended up leaving as soon as we finished our first round because what’s the point of going out with friends if you can’t even talk to them? Definitely won’t be returning to this place anytime soon.

holy crap! freaking delicious like boom boom pow! YOUHAVETOCOMEHEREBEFOREITSTARTSBLOWINGUPWITHBUSINESS. New restaurant but if they kill it with the food like they did last night its gonna start boomin! ” Ben how’s business? BOOMIN! « my girlfriend and I came in Last night Saturday February 13th for an early Valentine’s day dinner. We planned on going to nicks which is like right next door to the skyloft. but the wait was like 3 hours so that wasn’t gonna work out. we walked down the street more but it was the same wait at other spots. so we walked the other way. Saw a fancy light on the ground an my girlfriend said she had been here before an it was good, so she said we should give it a try or at least see how long the wait is. we walked up the stairs to the first host stand(they have 2 one on the bar floor an one on the sky deck) which is cool to separate the 2. I asked the host for a table for 2 she was like standing right at the top of the stairs. she said they can seat us right away I was super stoked! mind you we just got quotes hours of wait at other restaurants. so that was really lucky! we got seated at a two top table at the end of the bar in the corner overlooking the street. I could see my car parked on the street an we had a cool view so that was again very lucky we were seated the server came up rather quick got out drinks I got a club soda with lemon an my girlfriend got a water. I didnt get the specials menu from the host so the server went an grabbed it for us. while looking over the menu. there was a lot of delicious items kind of a big menu. but on the specials menu there was this stuffed avocado for 12 $ an on the normal menu the stuffed avocado was jumping out at me. but for 12 $ it seemed kind of a steep price. but it sounded good I noticed shrimp an crawfish. boy was there so much more! THATSTUFFEDAVOCADOSTOLETHEDINNER! LIKEHOLYCRAPTHATISGOOD! I ordered the Nawlins shrimp as my entrée an we shared the Avocado. The nawlins shrimp was good an it seems like most of there menu is cajun inspired which is cool! but if i ate just the shrimp an got a different appetizer it would have been a average dinner nothing special like the shrimp was good but it was good. THATAVOCADOTHO! was SOOOOOOOOOGOOD! LIKESPECTACULAR ! really GOOD! I WASNOTEXPECTINGITTO be that good! it was sooo good i had to look over the menu again to really see what was on it! Its tempura battered half a avocado which i didnt even read on the menu before ordering i just saw the shrimp an crawfish an was on it. the crunch of the tempura outer coating. then the warmness of the avocado since it was deep fried. with the slight spice of a cajun AIoli. FLAVORPROFILEEXCELLENCEWHOEVERCREATEDTHISSHOULDBEGIVEN A MICHIELINAWARD. ITSTHATGOOD! screw it as an appetizer it can be an entrée. real shit. like it was that good. kudos to the chef. an everyone involved. like i said the shrimp was good I got garlic fries with it. they were nothing special the shrimp was good like 6 pieces of shrimp with some cajun spiced bbq sauce but for some reason I couldn’t get my mind off that avocado. so good! I would come here just for that. The service was good, the restaurant was kinda loud but we were on the bar floor so I can assume that to be normal but the solution to that was to go to the top deck. easy enough. I went to check out the bathroom, they have some co-ed bathrooms like single person stuff. I couldnt find the normal bathroom untill i asked the host stand they showed me an I went an did my business. while in the restroom I noticed there was trash all over the ground. the sink was soaking wet. NOSOAP an NOPAPERTOWELS the host stand was not up to date on their rest room checks. it was about 8:15 peak resturant time if the avocado wasn’t so good it would have been a major upset. idk about you but i like to wash my hands after going to the restroom i settled for just running them threw water an drying them on my pants. :/. LIKE I SAIDTHOTHESTAROFTHESHOWISTHATSTUFFEDAVOCADO!!! IMCOMINGBACKANORDERINGMANYMORE!(hopefully they will get the restroom checks under control the next time) its a new restaurant so come here before it becomes super busy you wont regret it. Yuck! Can I give it a half star or none at all? Don’t waste your money. Well first off the place is beautiful and the drinks were whatever. But the food and service were really bad, food worse then service. Dried up shrimp cocktail with the shrimp not cleaned correctly. Both mine and my sisters were the same. They never brought my husbands appetizer. And when he asked the server said he didn’t order it. lol… Even if you thought he didn’t that’s not the correct answer. You say I’m sorry I didn’t hear you let me get it right out. Then we got the nachos, freezing cold and soggy like they sat for 30 mins. Lunch came, steak over cooked pretty much burnt and they brought some sort of dried up steak sandwich that I didn’t order for me. I ordered roasted chicken. So I just skipped eating and had my champagne, can’t mess that up. The servers were polite but just seemed like rookies. If you can’t remember the order write it down. All the food was gross, not even a little good straight out gross. It’s a beautiful location, it’s too bad they don’t know what they are doing. Disappointed. And see at the bottom where they replied they would private message me? They never did. Not that I care because I wouldn’t come back anyway but don’t act like you’re trying to fix something just to make yourself look better for serving bad food and having crappy service. We won’t be back or recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I went here on a quiet Sunday evening. We were seated outside, where I imagine has a lovely view during the day. But, you can’t see squat at night. In fact, it’s so dark, I found myself having to dodge the cellphone flash lights glaring in my eyes as other patrons struggled to read the menu. My husband and I sat there and then sat there some more. I began to notice that other tables seated after us were already getting drinks brought to their tables. Our waiter had yet to even great us. After about 15 minutes we decided to leave. What a waste of time.

We came here before and the food was good(when it was a previous restaurant) this time it was mediocre I ordered the rib eye and got a flat iron steak or so it seemed. The peppercorn sauce was more like white gravy you would have on biscuits for breakfast I got a side of it too as the potatoes, although a mound of them, were a bit dry. My partner ordered some kind of teriyaki shrimp thing that came with coleslaw he wasn’t impressed either. We ate at the bar but the band was so loud you had to to use sign language to talk to the bartender. They have been open for about 3 months now they better get it together. We went back and tried the rooftop seating on another night it gives you a great view of the ocean and beach, as well as the hills surrounding Laguna beach however, the view was obstructed by everyone taking pictures of it; staff included, not a bad thing just kind of funny. We had a couple of drinks this time and decided not to risk the food again and headed back to the big fish tavern. I might come back for the roof top sunset but I will not order a $ 38 carne asada again that’s for sure.

Love the ambiance and the food is so good! Ask to be seated on the roof– we got a perfect view of the beach! Servers are nice even though it was really full. We got the brisket sandwich, tri tip club, and chicken avocado sandwich. They were all delicious and the meat was so tender and not grisly at all(which I normally hate about bbq). Once you’re done, you can cross the street straight to Laguna Beach! Wonderful experience.

I sat at the rooftop dining area and had the tri-tip club sandwich. It was tasty. Then I went down the stairs to the bathroom which really impressed me. It is their unisex bathroom on the second floor. Nice wood floors, plenty of toilet paper rolls which comforts me in case I run out midway through, and I could hear the live music. The sink is nice too. The water warmed up quickly and it is aesthetically pleasing although you can see the pipes underneath. One downside was the black toilet. I am skeptical of black toilets as the color can hide some substances that I would prefer to see before I sit down.

Do not come here. I wish I could give 0 stars because that’s how bad this place was. It has such a great potential with the nice views, but this is probably the most poorly ran restaurant I have ever been to. My boyfriend brought me here for a date night since it was my first time ever in California… I am from DC and am a foodie… I have high expectations so we thought a cute hip new place in Laguna would be a great idea. So wrong. I got the kale caesar salad with well done salmon. My BF had the burger and so did his friend who went with us. My «kale» Caesar salad had like 1 tiny piece of kale the rest was romain, with typical salad dressing you’d find at any restaurant and my salmon was raw… When I specifically asked for well done. Both my BF and his friend’s burgers were complete raw… We took every single meal back… The waiter was horrible as well and I think was on something… We were literally at the table for 3 hours… Whether it was waiting for our order to be taken, trying to ask for more drinks, or taking back the food. This was by far the worst service I have ever had in my entire life! The food was also mediocre at BEST. My salad was horrible. In DC, if there is a kale Cesar salad… It’s all kale, guarantee you the dressing is homemade, and there’s parmesan cheese included. I’ve had bagged salads better than this. And when you ask for WELL done salmon… It’s at LEAST medium… I was literally served seared salmon. Just don’t come here.

Happy hour doesn’t make sense to me. They only offer a reverse happy hour? Ok let’s get straight to the drinks: they offer $ 1 off premium cocktails and $ 2 off well drinks? And have a wine special and that’s it? Hmmm it’s like«why even bother calling it happy hour?» I will say as a local, the BEST happy you is Tortilla Republic. Seriously killer margs are like $ 6 and you can get a pitcher and be done. The food, the food is so good and inexpensive and you get portions for sharing. I was hoping skyloft would have been a little bit more competitive when thinking up their happy hour menu. People just want good drinks with a decent price marked. I hate it when they say«$ 1 off. $ 2 off) you know it’s always bad news. Like I said«why even bother»

Very cool place along Laguna Beach! From what I could tell on here it is a fairly new restaurant that has had some service trouble in the short time it has been open. I think if you go to a new restaurant you expect some of that. We were visiting on vacation and decided to give it a try. I’m glad we did! There is rooftop seating that gives you a view of the ocean and beach, as well as the hills surrounding laguna beach. Great location, but not directly on the beach, but it doesn’t need to be. I also liked the sports bar area inside. The food was pretty good. The sandwiches we had were well portioned and tasty. My only downside was the portion side of some things. The avocado appetizer was half an avocado for like $ 12. I know this is California, but c’mon. Other than that, we had little to no service issues and it was a packed house. One of our party’s food came out later than everyone else’s, but oh well. Cool location, concept, and food. Give it a try.

Today my cousins and I came here as first timers for lunch. The food was pretty good, nothing super special. Our only issue was the service. Our server Trena seemed to have a very unwelcoming attitude right off the bat. She seemed to be annoyed and didn’t tend to us at all. She very rarely came by to fill up our water or check on us and our food wasn’t even brought out by her. The food runners/busboys were super friendly and we probably would have had a better experience if they were our servers instead. I get that she may have been having a bad day, but do not take it out on the customers. We may come back due to the food and the view, hopefully we just have another server who actually likes their job next time.
