I am really blessed to have found a great stylist, FINALLY! Sara Sak REALLY helped me get the look I wanted. I paid a great price by using box color. I colored it red & it faded in 3 weeks. I then tried to hide it with an auburn color & it just turned into a mess Lol. I found Sara on Unilocal & figured I really have nothing to loose. I told her my natural hair color is kind of auburn but it had some golden highlights. She had to be honest with me that this was going to be a process to achieving what I wanted. First, she had to dye my hair all over first with a solid warm color– since I already had two different colors going on & highlighting would not come out right. I wasn’t to thrilled to hear that but I trusted her. The second phase which was 6 weeks later & finally I could get my highlights!!! My hair looks much better in person but she did a fantastic job. It’s very natural looking and she worked hard to making sure I was leaving satisfied. On a side note, she is a very likeable person and you can tell she has a warm soul too

I found Sean Kerr – who deserves a medal for his tireless work to fix my mistakes – on Unilocal. I had messed my hair up pretty badly with box dye after moving to Orange County. Long story short, it was darker than I wanted it to be, so I tried to lighten it myself. I didn’t have a hairstylist up here and thought I could resolve the issue. BUT, I just made the problem 800% worse than it had been. Now, after my dye attempt, I had 2 inches of red roots and 14 inches of black(this was supposed to be dark-brown, but it just was an inky, dull black) hair. Naturally, my hair is dishwater blond, so the dark just did nothing for my skin color. Anyhow, I was searching for a salon with good reviews – and specifically, those that reference stylists who are skilled at color correction. And that’s how I found Sean. He has many, many, many amazing(and deserved) reviews and a few of them are from people(like me) who should have never touched their own hair. In any case, I called the salon and they gave me his number to see if he’d be willing to take on my hair. I texted him – completely out of the blue – and explained my problem, asking if was available to help me fix it before Christmas(this was literally Dec. 15). Despite having no idea who I was, he was gracious, patient, funny, and worked with me to find a time to come in and see what could be done. When I met him in person, 2 days before Christmas, he was amazing. He was worried that I would be anticipating a miracle, so he was really gentle and kind as he explained that this would be a process to fix. I appreciated his honesty and asked him to do the best he could to get some warmth back into my hair ahead of all the holiday photos. And he did. Sean did a wonderful job(I’d even say he worked a miracle) – and while I still have a while to go to completely get the black out of my hair – he was able to weave highlights and lowlights in to blend and soften the red roots. He also was able to infuse some warmth back into my hair. It looks a million times better and I can’t wait to see what he can do on my next visit. Long story short – Sean’s a lifesaver and a very talented hairdresser. He’s also incredibly funny, attentive, warm, and a million other positive adjectives. I couldn’t recommend him any higher. If you’re in the position I was, don’t hesitate to give him a call.

Let’s start with a little background on me. I went to another salon in the beginning of August and the girl BUTCHERED my hair. My hair was WAY shorter than I wanted, and when I got home and straightened it I noticed it was also much more blunt than I would ever wear my hair. So, I went back and had the girl add the layers I had requested. I shouldn’t have trust her with scissors and my hair, because what I got was a cut that made no sense. I cannot even describe what was going on with it. I considered having someone else fix it but since I didn’t want to go any shorter(she already had cut it shorter than I would have liked) I thought I should just suck it up and deal with it while it grew out. Flash forward to a week before Christmas and me begging Sean Kerr, who was recommended by my best friend, to squeeze me in after work before NYE. I knew it was a big favor, but he acted like it was nothing. When he greeted me he was warm, welcoming, very sweet, and professional during the consultation. He probably should have asked me if I trusted a 4 year old with scissors and my hair, but instead we just talked nicely about what wasn’t working with my hair and what my goal was with him. Sean absolutely killed my color, in the best possible way. It Is EXACTLY the burgundy-brown of the inspiration pictures I brought in. I don’t think I have ever had someone execute a red this wonderfully on me, and definitely not on the first try. I am getting so many compliments on the color, and I couldn’t be happier with it. When he pulled out the scissors, I had to admit I was a little nervous. What can I say? I was traumatized from my last haircut and if it turned out poorly there was a friendship on the line since my bestie recommended him. He assured me he could fix it, and promised that if I found any of the last girl’s random hacks that he missed I could come back for a touch-up free of charge. I think the offer was more for my peace-of-mind than anything, because Sean really took his time and found a way to blend my layers together beautifully. I also appreciated that he asked more questions as he was cutting my hair to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for. I can say with confidence that if I had to pick my top 3 haircuts/colors over the last 10 years, what Sean did to my mane would make the list. I don’t know how he did it, especially given the rough canvas he had to work with, but he managed to give me my beautiful hair back. Now that I have done my hair on my own, and I see just how easy it is to make my hair look amazing after his work, I know I have found my new hair stylist.
